    You nailed it at ~ 10:23 ; we won't really know what Fujimoto wants to say until he stops this part of the story. I feel like we're just now getting to the point were all of the setup of earlier will begin to pay off. Now we have questions such as: What are Denji's dreams now that he "acquired" his old dream that he developed with Pochita? What does life have in store for him? How does Asa's character play as a foil against Denji? Why have Asa's character to begin with? Who / what is the *real villain* of the story?
    There are a ton of themes that Fujimoto could expand upon, there are a ton of places that he could take his story, and I personally believe he has the writing chops to pull off his *crazy* story maneuvers. And to me, that's incredibly exciting, and worth the current and old hype. Patience is key here =)

      These questions are everything right now. Yeah this can go up down inside out at this rate. No one knows but that's the fun of Fujimoto's storytelling style

    Its so strange people try to rationalize the Chainsaw Man story against other mainstream J-stories given that Fujimoto wrote fucking Fire Punch. The word meaning is a pretty wild one to say the least

    I think another thing with part 2 (which I adore btw) is that there is no character with the same influence as Makima. Makima drives the story in part 1. In part 2 we have Fami and public safety making plays but noone is in control. So it feels chaotic.

      I think the positive out of this split is the story will have a wider appeal to lots of people since one of the parts is bound to engage someone's preference of story telling.

    I think the worst thing someone can do is overthink and put your own expectations into CSM. The story is not going to go where we think it is, as personified with Denji picking up cigarettes. On the surface this arc seems like it’s going to be about not liking girl and girl hating guy and eventually they kiss, but it’s not going to be that.
    The other thing is that Denji grew up in the hood and had nothing and now he has something and his handlers are trying to prevent him from going full SoundCloud rapper and blowing it all.

    Honestly, csm is probably the best new gen shonen series right now, second only to jjk. It's just that up until now it hasn't really had anything like a major twist to the story because of course it's still a fairly new series that's only been out for about 4 years. I think we'll probably see the real turning point in the next 50 or so chapters, because normally a shonen series becomes really interesting once it passes 200-250 chaps. Just wait for that.

      You think we are going to get more than 2 parts and it will be a longer run series? It feels like this part may find resolution for Denji. It's starting to shape that way.
      And I agree that I think we are entering a new point in part 2 where we are going to likely see things unfold or a change in pace to add more clarity to the readers.

      I'd argue CSM is a better story than JJK on a technical level tbh. I love both series a lot but Akutami often fails to make use of plot points he sets up in JJK or outright neglects characters. It really sucks rereading the series and looking at just how much information on side characters goes unexplored or unused after a big deal is made out of it. CSM feels much better in terms of planning.

    it’s on shonen jump, why do people discredit others work w no experience making manga

    • @itsanimel
      @itsanimel  9 місяців тому

      Not sure what you mean. I don't think anyone is discrediting the work. It's a high profile manga and anime that generates a lot of conversation and people simply transact with their own thoughts as they engage with it.
      Thanks for engaging and your thoughts!
