I love how welcoming the pickleball community is! I was so nervous to approach the people playing at our local courts, but they were so kind and welcoming. They also give super helpful tips to help me get better every time I play! 😊
It’s amazing how this game brings together all walks of life with various athletic backgrounds together. Not not only racket sports. We discovered it during covid lockdown and are absolutely hooked! Such a fun game
Can't agree more im an NPC Bodybuilder and this has been some of rhe best cardio I've had in my life and the wife loves kicking my ass at a physical sport its a win win and look forward to playing more and more!!
Love the camaraderie, exercise, and the fine balance between laughing at your friends and affirming them for great shots! A wonderful social activity that brings out the best in all people.
Great explanation of the spin serve. I know it will help me in my quest to be a better pickleball player. I have recently given up golf as no matter how hard I try i continue to get worse (I'm 76). But with pickleball I've moved from beginner to 4.0 in about 6 months. Totally fun. Can't wait to add this serve to my game.
Have played racquetball for 15 years and then found pickleball...WOW. Each time I get out there it's another challenge and opportunity to improve on skills I've developed. Also learned fast that you cannot judge anyone initially, every person can be good at the sport. Love the spin serves, have tried it over last few months. By far, this video explains spin the best; very easy, concise, and love the videos thrown in there to put images to words. Great stuff Shea!
Really love this game! Gets me up every morning and gives me a healthy start to the day. Just started playing a year ago and at age 70 it keeps me moving and feeling great.
Love the video…cool to see and learn something new. I love the game for many reasons..as a newer player, I appreciate that it is easy to learn and progress. But as I learn more, I’m appreciating the patience it requires and the technical aspects that demand mental focus.
I love pickle ball because, there is so much action in the kitchen, also the sound the paddle makes when it hits the pickleball. And I love that all ages can play. Thanks for this serve video I love how much spin you can get on the ball.
Really appreciate the effective and clear-cut explanation of the one-handed serve techniques. It's seeing all these new and subtle ways to improve your pickleball game is why I love pickleball, it makes you a continual learner.
As a 77 year old tennis player. I thought I would give pickleball a try. I love it! My serve was always my best part of my tennis game, so as I started to play pickleball I was amazed at how few players did much with their serve. Placement and pace, yes, but no spin or slice. I figured it would make sense for me to work the very spin you are demonstrating. In just a few weeks, I discovered I could compete. Dinking and overall play work came next. Pickleball is a great game for all ages and abilities. My only regret is not getting into the game earlier.
I think the service rules in pickleball were originally intended to put the ball in play and not turn it into a tennis game of aces. Of course with competition people are always looking for an edge. In a friendly game this is BS. In a tournament perhaps it's another story. You're 77, if you're playing guys your age don't be an asshole, get the play started and work on your third shot.
Pickleball is my new obsession that has given my life new meaning. I haven’t been playing long, but love to play it, watch it and talk about it. As others have said, it is great to meet new people. Thanks for the video. I’m always looking for new ways to serve.
I love the comradely and meeting new friends. It’s a game that challenges you on every level and allows you to consistently improve, yet it can still be fun when playing against other levels. And, it’s a great workout.
I love pickleball because I can have a fun/very competitive time with my wife with singles. The chainsaw really messes up her returns, and hopefully this will be even better! Thanks for the great content!
Hey just wanted to say thanks for your videos! Your videos on spin serves have completely changed my game! I love pickleball because of the way anyone from any age or athletic background can play. It’s a perfect game for everyone
I was a competitive tennis player all through my youth (loved ping pong as well) and played pickleball for the first time yesterday. It's a done deal I am love with this game. Total strangers of all ages welcomed me to rotate into their game, helped me understand the rules, and gave me a few pointers. Never in a million years would that of happened on a tennis court! We exchanged numbers and plan on getting together in the future to improve our skills. My wal-mart paddle was no match for their spin game....lol....that's why I am here! Great video who would of thought spinning the ball changes the whole serving game like that!
Thanks for all the tips! Well explained! I love PB for many reasons, but mostly because I see the joy on everyone's faces while playing, knowing many of them have hardships outside those courts, playing is a stress relief to us. Also, for how it made some people change their idea about people like me, a Muslim with a scarf. Which made us get to know each other, and become friends. How it heals the mind and body of so many. I remember while helping with clinics for people with Parkinson's how it effected their movement, and their spirit, it was magical! Witnessing that by itself was worth putting all the hours to help people with their game.
Thanks for all the in depth videos explaining how to do these serves. Pickleball is changing fast with new players every day thinking of new ways to win!
Always good to see a new video. Super good. Will test it along with my slice spin serve on the crowd in Naples. Pickleball has filled my retirement and allowed me to become part of many communities all over the east coast not to mention the cool PB friends, esp in Atl. Pickleballers r amazing. Long live Pickleball.
I appreciate how well put together and how thorough this video is. Excellent work, Shea. Subscribed and looking forward to future videos. There are a lot of aspects I love about pickleball but I the thing that has me most hooked is the desire to keep improving my game.
I love Pickleball because it gets me moving doing something that's fun! At 63 yrs old, some days I need all the help I can get! I have met some of the nicest people in the Pickleball world. I am a Caregiver for the disabled and Veterans, working 7 days a week a lot of the time. So when I can schedule some time for Pickleball, it lifts my spirits, puts a smile on my face, and I truly look forward to every chance I get to spend time playing! I would say I'm a 3.5-4.0 player, and hope to get better each time I play!
I love pickleball because I have met some absolutely amazing people over the past year and a half. Those people have helped my game tremendously. I have also gained so much (more) respect for our senior players. I routinely play with 65-70+ year olds and they move better than some 30 year olds. I hope to be able to move like them 20+ years from now as well.
I LOVE your instructional video!!!! It is the first that I’ve watched, but I plan to watch many others. I’m brand new to pickleball. However, I played sanctioned tennis through high school. As you know, spin is so important in racket sports. Your instructional method made it so easy to understand. Now, I just need a racket (hint, hint 😉) and to find a league in Houston. I recently moved back to Houston after living in Northern, NJ (about 15 miles west of the GW bridge) for 23 long years. I love being back in Texas. I was born in Dallas, raised in East Tx (near Tyler) and Port Neches. I moved to Houston after college working as a CPA and Human Resources. (I went back for a MHR at the University of South Carolina) I’m 52 yrs young (lol) and excited to learn pickleball! It looks so fun and very social. Your videos are awesome that I feel I’m getting a private lesson from you! I plan to tell everyone I meet in pickleball about them. Keep up the great work! I especially appreciated how you marked the ball, gave clear demonstrations, provided strategy and included statistics! I’m very happy that I found your channel. I wish you all the best! 👍🏻🙋♀️
I like pickleball because of the diverse age range of people that play and how active it is, without being too tiring that you can only play for 30 min. Also the low cost of entry to get started means it’s easy to invite friends who have never heard of it and get them hooked like I am. Great work Shea! Love the videos, love the technique. I’ve learned a lot from this channel. Have my first tournament coming up at the end of the month and excited to put everything I’ve learned to the test.
Started playing about 8 months ago with my mom. Got 6 of my friends, my girlfriend, and my dad hooked too. There is a public court near my folks house, and I have really loved being outdoors starting during a crappy time in everyone life. Thank you for helping promote this awesome sport.
Just started a few weeks ago and I love it. The social, workout and strategic aspects all combine for a fun few hours on the courts. So many nice and helpful teachers and fellow players.
I love playing pickleball and learning new techniques. Your instructions and video is very informative and easy to follow...top notch!...keep them coming!! Thx
I am 75 and play pickleball 6 days a week... Plus I help our Tennis/Pickleball Pro do PB clinic's . I am certified IPTPA Instructor and love teaching also... Old HS Coach. Played a lot of tennis, but Pickleball is my love for sure... so so hooked... Plus I like Selkirk Paddles... Thanks for the tips and I will try..... I live in a 55 plus community and we have a great group who loves the game... Thx again... GRS
Love all the different ways to approach the serve. thank you. Just another reason to love the game. It’s accessible, but there are ways to make it more and more competitive.
Thank you for demonstrating new strategies and explaining how to return such a serve. Having had shoulder and knee injuries & surgeries I moved from tennis to pickleball which had provided joy, exercise & socializing opportunities
I love the community that it builds, and the friendships that it forges. I used to play pickleball at a fairly high level before quitting the sport to focus on other areas of my life. I came back to the sport 15 years laters to learn that my friends actually went pro in a sport that I thought was just a recreational thing. I’m excited to see how far the sport has come and how big it’s going to get!!
I love pickleball because of all of the skill it takes to be a really good player. You have all of the new spins on the serves and dinks that makes the ball move around. Also I like the strategy of hitting a shot to set up the next shot. I like the part of always thinking about where you are going to hit the shot. I like it because power is not always the best way to hit a ball. You can break down you opponents and place the ball where they are not at if you get them out of position.
I just started playing and what I live this most about pickleball anyone can play it fun and you get to meet some really nice people. I been playing for 4 months and I addicted to it 👍
As someone who came from no racket sport experience, I love that pickleball allows any age or level of player to begin playing confidently in a positive social setting. Advancing has been helped along tremendously by channels like this. Thank you.
I'm 68 year old grandfather who discovered pickleball at a church activity in late June this year. I'm having the time of my life playing and have introduced over 13 of my children and grandchildren to this amazing sport. 8 of us play once or twice a week now and all of us have a great time regardless of our varied abilities and ages. Thanks for your excellently produced videos.
I work for the fire department in CA. We spend a lot of time away from our families; sometimes for weeks and even months. My captain introduced the crew to Pickleball. At the end of a hard day it's awesome to have something that brings us all together, gives a fun workout, and makes you forget for a bit how long you've been away from home. We love playing and dig your channel!
I’ve met so many experienced picklers and people new to the sport within the last year. It’s ease of entry into the sport has been my favorite aspect and with the sport growing so fast, there’s always someone to play with
I started playing pickleball 3 months ago after two hip replacements and a bad car accident, with a fractured foot, torn rotator cuff and torn tendons on two of my fingers. I’m now playing 3.0 to 3.5 by watching video’s like your’s. After what I been through and playing 4 to 5 times a week now I hope this inspires all kinds of people with some kind of injuries that pickleball is uplifting and enjoyable for all ages👍🙏
Pickleball kept me sane during the pandemic. I created a neighborhood team. We learned together and became addicted quickly. We played outdoors almost everyday (as long as it was above freezing in the winter) for a couple of hours. We even set up an additional net on the weekends as more neighbors joined in. We love the sport and how it has brought us together ❤. Thanks to the pros for challenging us and keeping us active.
Love the game; I'm almost 78 and play regularly along with golf. My spouse cannot golf (shoulder problems) so we and our friends play pickleball regularly in fun games, but not tournament competitively. All of us here were told that in a non-drop serve the ball must also be dropped and not tossed so I guess we were taught incorrectly. Glad to see this video as in tennis my strong play was in the service. Thanks
Great content! I love pickleball because it’s a fun racquet/paddle sport that is I can play with friends and family who have little to no experience and still have fun. I also love that I have been able to play with my 5 and 4 years old which is something I could have never done with tennis. Keep making killer video Underwood!
Pickleball has taught me patience and how to have fun with people I normally don't see throughout my day-to-day life. I like that people can do as little or as much play as they are comfortable with; from recreational to competitive. I have made some lasting friendships with amazing people through playing in my community's local club. I really owe a lot to the sport and am grateful for all your tips and videos! Dink on, fellow picklers!
Pickleball is very addicting. I made fun of friends of mine who were my age for playing an old man's game...............Then, I played it and now I am hooked. My family has gotten involved in it as well and we play every chance we get. Love your channel and the videos are awesome!
This game has presented a gift to us by allowing my wife to participate with me in a great cardio sport. In the past my wife didn't have the stamina or athletic prowess to play the more strenuous sports on larger courts and fields. Pickleball has bridged that gap and we love being together and enjoying each other's company playing PB. Thank you pickleball inventor!!
I love pickleball, because what ever age I teach pickleball to, and I’m talking from 7-70 not only do they love it, they can do it easy. What other sport has such a love and range. Thanks for the new serve technique. Trying my best to do it as good as you.
I love the joy of the frustration.. when the easy put away goes right into the net, when the game winner can quickly turn into momentum shifter… the laughs and the “oh no’s!” And the constant improvement
I like pickleball because of the kitchen. It adds SO MUCH dynamic to the game and allows players of all ages to play and enjoy. Been playing since September last year and totally and completely in love. Can't get enough. I got EVERYONE in my family playing. My friends play too. We go all over the state playing with different communities for fun. My paddle is really starting to show its age, being a year old now, and the Invicta looks great!
I like pickelball because of building real community with your fellow man. It is so addictive with all the strategies you can apply like the one you are demonstrating in this video. Another piece of ammo in my Arsenal to become an even better player!
I used to play tennis but got older and couldn’t find who to play with. Someone invited me to go to a game of Pickleball which I had never heard about and fell in love with it. Have learned a lot from you the pros with your videos and enjoy watching and appreciating your great lessons. Just love it!,,
Love your "how to" serve videos. Some of the best out there. Keep it up! I love the friendly community and the fact that the game is such an equalizer... young, old, middle age doesn't matter. What other sport can so many different ages be genuinely competitive?
Dude that was great stuff!!! I feel in love with Pickleball around 2019. I love everything about the sport, the people , the speed of the game snd how it’s catching on to people of all ages
I love pickleball because you can play with several different people and talent and still have fun. Love the breakdown of you own game and playing. The spin you speak of is also very similar to the spin a fast pitch softball pitchers uses to throw a rise and drop ball. It's just hard because we are doing it with our non dominant hand. Thanks for the tips and keep them coming.
I started playing pickleball after having 2 knee replacement surgeries and was told by my orthopedist to stop playing singles tennis. I'm 67 years old and have become totally addicted to pickleball. My knees are fine and I learn more every time I play. I also love watching your videos and learn so much by watching. Thanks!
Wow good explanation right from your bedroom. I have a nerve problem in my right arm but now my left can help on the serve. Pickleball challenges me to strategize vs a lot of opponents of various ages, capabilities, and skills - each person simply brings his/her best and that's why I like it. Thx
The game of pickleball is new to me and I love watching your introduction to the game and your tutorials. I am so excited to get started in the game!! I want to learn more about it!! Thanks so much and I look forward to more!!
I love pickleball because for one, I’m very competitive and at my age, 66, 5 on 5 basketball is out of the question and my days of playing softball is over also. We have a really great group that we play with here in West Bend Wisconsin just about everyday when the weather cooperates. So now I have a completely different group of friends and we are pretty close to the same level of play. Like today with playing this morning, I’m already anticipating wanting to play tomorrow. If you ask my wife, I pretty much sleep, eat and play pickleball. I also attend as many clinics as I can to help me get better. Thank you for your video and I’m going to start working on developing the proper spin for my serves!
I love pickleball. I've been playing for over 30 years so it's great that it has started to become very popular. It's a way to get great exercise and you really don't even think of it as exercise because it's so enjoyable to play. Great video and I'll try some of your tips.
I love the community of players and how most people just enjoy having fun and include everyone of all skill levels. It gets me excited to wake up knowing I'm going to get to have all that fun. I love trying to improve my game too. It's the best sport in the world!
I love pickleball because it's so very inclusive.... all levels all ages, it's the most social game I've ever played. It kept my spirits up when my husband passed and I'm so thankful for all my pickler new and old friends. I've since joined a Ladies league as well as a social league where in both we visit various communities and they come to ours....LOVE this sport!!!!!
Competition and camaraderie where the true enemy is the net. Amidst the last year of social distancing pickleball has drawn us closer together as a family where we have become better friends and better parents. This video is definitely going in my saves. Thanks for the detailed breakdown and application.
I love how welcoming the pickleball community is! I was so nervous to approach the people playing at our local courts, but they were so kind and welcoming. They also give super helpful tips to help me get better every time I play! 😊
Thank u
It’s amazing how this game brings together all walks of life with various athletic backgrounds together. Not not only racket sports. We discovered it during covid lockdown and are absolutely hooked! Such a fun game
Can't agree more im an NPC Bodybuilder and this has been some of rhe best cardio I've had in my life and the wife loves kicking my ass at a physical sport its a win win and look forward to playing more and more!!
I love how fast paced this game is and how welcoming everyone in the community has been.
Love the camaraderie, exercise, and the fine balance between laughing at your friends and affirming them for great shots! A wonderful social activity that brings out the best in all people.

Love pickleball and am competitive. Love meeting new friends and great exercise without knowing you are!
It’s just such a great way to meet new and amazing people! Thank you for your great tips!
The community and diversity of players is what I love most about pickleball. Lots of great tips here I never thought of! Thanks.
I love the way pickleball keeps evolving! Thanks for the spin serve lesson.
I love teaching Pickleball and this is the one of the best tutorials I've ever watched on the sport, Thanks....
Well done! Love the skill aspect of the game along with the mental and strategic part of the game.

I love pickleball because I've met some awesome people playing the sport. Thanks again for a very well explained and narrated concept!
I love pickleball because I can have a fun/very competitive time with my wife with singles. The chainsaw really messes up her returns, and hopefully this will be even better! Thanks for the great content!
Love pickleball because it's always evolving, and this video is terrific. Keep up the great coaching and instruction.
Looking forward to this info, Serve should be a weapon!
Great explanation and close up of the hand motion. Nice job! Getting to see great instruction on youtube helps me love pickleball even more!
Hey just wanted to say thanks for your videos! Your videos on spin serves have completely changed my game!

At the end of a hard day it's awesome to have something that brings us all together, gives a fun workout, and makes you forget for a bit how long you've been away from home. We love playing and dig your channel!
Great group to play with and watching others improve which feeds my addiction for pickleball.
6 months into Pickleball, love the game and becoming a student of the game. Your lessons breakdown the into steps to learn. Keep up the good work
Thanks Andrew 👍
I’ve met so many experienced picklers and people new to the sport within the last year. It’s ease of entry into the sport has been my favorite aspect and with the sport growing so fast, there’s always someone to play with
Clear & easy to understand instructions…Look forward to practicing this serve!
Being outdoors, hanging out while making new friends. Great camaraderie while getting exercise. Great way to make your serve a weapon. Thanks
Great explanation of the serve. I'll start my practice tomorrow! Thanks.
I love meeting new people and seeing their laughter and joy during play.
I love how easily accessible the game is to everyone, which creates a very wholesome and welcoming community to everyone.
Very detailed and visual explanation. Can’t wait to work on it. Great job!
Thanks
Definitely would recommend checking out the rule book.. it’s a pretty easy read and there are a lot of misinformed people out there on the courts.
Just started playing pickleball about 4 months ago. I like the community I found and that I have so much room to improve.
Great content! I love pickleball because it’s a fun racquet/paddle sport that is I can play with friends and family who have little to no experience and still have fun. I also love that I have been able to play with my 5 and 4 years old which is something I could have never done with tennis. Keep making killer video Underwood!
Thanks Tori and Jon 👍 We still gotta get some games in one day!
Awesome explanation Shea!. Had to stop the video and trying your techniques here and now. Keep more videos coming.
I love pickleball, because what ever age I teach pickleball to, and I’m talking from 7-70 not only do they love it, they can do it easy. What other sport has such a love and range. Thanks for the new serve technique. Trying my best to do it as good as you.
Thanks Kip, keep spreading the knowledge 💪
PB is addictive and love how you meet so many people that love the game. Being older this is a perfect way to stay fit and active.
That’s awesome Chris! Keep adding to that arsenal!
I also say what I like about Pickelball is the fact that I have been beat by a 93 year old man!!!
I love the competition and meeting new people, as well as learning to improve myself and helping others!
Thanks for the video, I love seeing the sport evolving like this!
I used to play tennis but got older and couldn’t find who to play with. Someone invited me to go to a game of Pickleball which I had never heard about and fell in love with it. Have learned a lot from you the pros with your videos and enjoy watching and appreciating your great lessons. Just love it!,,
Thanks for the support Sofia!
Pickleball is addicting! I love learning new techniques and growing as a player. Thanks!
Well explained and demonstrated! Thank you!
Ooooh boy. Love some quality Pickleball content. Thanks for inventing this new killer serve! Now to go practice.
I love the friendly competitiveness of the sport, and the ease of traveling with the gear. Appreciate the video. Good explanation.
I love improving and getting better. Thanks for the clip, good advise, covered lots of information.
Love everything about this Sport. Playing, Shot making, Competition, and Camaraderie and Socializing.
I started playing pickleball after having 2 knee replacement surgeries and was told by my orthopedist to stop playing singles tennis. I'm 67 years old and have become totally addicted to pickleball. My knees are fine and I learn more every time I play. I also love watching your videos and learn so much by watching. Thanks!
I love pickleball because it gave me motivation during the lock down, and has given me a new social and amazing community to be in.
Informative vid, thanks! I love pickleball because I can play with all generations.
I love that the game is easy to learn and challenging to master. Plus, you make such great friends!
Thanks for the great video!
I'm seriously addicted to 🥒 ball. Love it! Thanks for the spin serve video, can't wait to try 👍.
Love the the community it creates and have met a lot of great people. Fun and exercise are added benefit.
Pickleball is taking over my life.
Love your instructional video. I can’t wait to try it.
What I liked more than learning about the serve mechanics is how you brought up how to also defend the serve!
Competition and camaraderie where the true enemy is the net. Amidst the last year of social distancing pickleball has drawn us closer together as a family where we have become better friends and better parents. This video is definitely going in my saves. Thanks for the detailed breakdown and application.
I love learning new skills to help me with this amazing sport; Pb has fun, energy, skill and strategy wrapped in great social time! Thank you
