This might be my favourite raid encounter conceptually. Once you've done it a couple times, it's not particularly difficult and pretty easy with a competent team, but the idea of having to race back through the palace after just having fought one of the most imposing and difficult bosses in the series (unless cheese :) ), with this music playing is just perfection.
What makes Queenswalk so unique for a raid encounter is the fact you have to have good team synergy with carrying Riven’s heart to Kalli and Shuro Chi in the hopes to purify her, even if she’s already done the dirty work of Savathun and her own wish to make the Awoken pay for what happened to her. Plus having to race back to the entrance of the Vault is really neat after the major trek to get to Riven and to kill her… plus her ominous words at the end.
Imagine this in real life. The guardians that get wiped inside the heart, the cause of their death literally just says trapped for eternity. Idk about u guys but that makes my spine shiver
I remember years ago, still being a total newbie, and doing this raid for the first time. At the end of the encounter most of the team was down, and I was also the last runner. One of the best and most intense experiences I had in the game.
You know how the curse tends to fluctuate every few weeks? Rising until there's Taken everywhere and giant balls of Taken particles, and then going back to pristine the following week? That's Savathun's doing, with the help of Riven and Quria (a Vex Mind that got Taken during D1). The Dreaming City is caught in a time loop of a month or so, triggered when Dul Incaru is killed at the end of Shattered Throne. The order of operations goes roughly like this: The Corrupted strike is first, rescuing Sedia from the Taken, after Forsaken and before Petra can get a team of Guardians together to kill Riven as per Mara's orders. Last Wish is next, where Kalli and Shuro Chi are purified, Riven is killed and the Young Wolf (you) is coerced into wishing for the Darkness enveloping the Dreaming City to be removed. This allows Riven to set up the next three weeks, where the Taken curse trickles back in over time. During this time you go on a few missions for Petra, assist the Corsairs with their patrols, and (most importantly of all) charge the Blind Well. This provides a dual function: One, you are rewarded with Offerings to the Oracle, which you can turn in for audiences with Mara (of varying importance, usually some flavor of pivotal), and Two, allows you to be transported to Mara Sov's personal throne world, Eleusinia. In Eleusinia (the "Shattered Throne" mission) you traverse the wrecked throne world and find the usurper Dul Incaru, killing her. However, this trips a failsafe that resets the Dreaming City back to before the Corrupted strike, and everything plays out again, and again, and again, et cetera ad nauseum.

Indeed, her greatest scam yet (the Sav!Osiris gambit) only succeeded in increasing her Worm's appetite past the point where it could reasonably consume, hence her running to Mara during Season of the Lost.
@@megarhombus7532 Savathun had been using it to give herself power as she sought to remove her Worm familiar to be free of the Hive’s Sword Logic, so she could find power to surpass the Witness, which also allowed her to gain the Light since she was meant to be one of the Traveler’s Chosen, before the Witness used her because it was afraid of the Krill gaining the Light, and how its manipulations turned them into the Hive.
This raid is B E A U T I F U L!!!! One of my favourite raids in D2, alongside with Scourge of the Past! I’m so sad that this last one will get in the vault... 😭😭😭
I just beat Last Wish for the first time about an hour ago, and man was it amazing. We beat queenswalk on our second run and while I was technically the last runner we were fast enough that all I had to do was dunk it. No 1k, but an amazing experience I definitely want to repeat.

A few of our friends have bad connection when we do raids and for some reason when we get to this part, the enemies never spawn until we get near the end lol

@@donotstart593 When you enter the vault, the first room open will either be trees or rocks. From there, it will be to the one that wasn't open, and then stairs. Stairs is always final. So it can only ever be trees -> rocks -> stairs or rocks -> trees -> stairs

Doing it is complete different experience compared to watching someone or even yourself do it the OST makes it so badass

Don't know if you've seen it by now but if you're inside the heart and look up you can see the hands of the runner carrying the heart.
