Song was written and performed originally by country artist Rodney Crowell. Seger took it to another level with his vocals and instrumental arrangements but he stayed true to the original!!! That's why it mentioned the country charts! Love from Texas!!!
Another rabbit hole to go down. The Eagles 😱 Glenn Frey (pronounced 'fry') is the one of the iconic driving forces of the band. Sadly, he passed away in January of 2016 from complications from pneumonia. A legend.
Omg I haven't heard this song in ages and i heard it twice today! While I was having a medical procedure it was on the radio this morning and now here. Thats alright with me!!!!!!✌️❤️
Glen Frey, a Detroit boy , was in back up guitar and vocals for early Seger. Then, he went to LA,and met a Texan Named Don Henley, backed up Linda Ronstadt... Didn't do much after that...just formed a tiny band...THE EAGLES...😁👍😂😎
Other great Seger songs: Like a Rock, Night Moves, Turn the Page, We’ve Got Tonight, and The Fire Down Below to name a few. He is amazing! Every young man needs to hear Like a Rock.
OF COURSE YOU'RE LOVIN THIS!!! 😊 NIIIICCCCEEE! THE OTHER BIG HIT ON THIS ALBUM ( THE DISTANCE WAS : ROLL ME AWAY 😊GREAT SONG, OF COURSE MOST ANY BOB IS SO!
I grew up in the 60s and 70s Bob Seger was from my home state of Michigan. So I grew up heavily listening to his music along with Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent & the Rockets all Detroit bands react to a song by the Rockets called “turn up the radio” thats a song you will love.
Sounds like he’s a romantic…..goes way deep when he lets himself go……and he’s been hurt badly in love…..and he’s just been “captured” again by a woman’s heart…..and he’s half jokingly (and perhaps ruefully) saying that…well….it was a magical night…..blame it on that gorgeous moon….
You need to get more into Seger's gritty stuff that you have missed so far. Try Sunspot Baby, Her Strut, or Betty Lou's Gettin Out Tonight, and Katmandu.
I first saw him at my high school in 69 and many times after. You might try some of his early music East side story and heavy music and 2+2 is on my mind and later music like roll me away
Thank you so much Salvo, I never thought I'd see the day I'd hear new music from Bob Seger... I had NEVER heard this before!! WOW!! You just made my day!! Thank you SO MUCH... guess I need to reenter the rabbit hole and see what else I've missed... blessings.
This is my one and only besides Little Drummer Boy by Bob that I like. Being from Michigan I should be a huge fan I know. He's a legend and an Amazing musician but my ear just get into him. Wish it would lol.... This song I could listen to everyday!!
Oh this is a beautiful cover Bob did it justice and then some. My favorite cover song of Bob's is The Little Drummer Boy,1989. Talking about singing from your soul.
When that song first came out, "shame on that moon" was my new catch phrase.. I had just passed my boards as a new RN.. Love that southern rock. Fire down below is my fav.. I was looking in your playlist for PTX but had to stop and listen to Bob. FYI- Ask any medical professionals they will tell you the crazy injuries, stupid crap, more babies are born, more violent injuries seen in the Er.. I worked in a level 1 trauma center and we added staff during the full moom. Luna, lunar and lunatics are all associated with a full moon.....blame it on midnight, shame on the moon. Enjoying in Tennessee
Bob Seger is just a legend. All of his classics are pure gold. But I just recently discovered his latest album and REALLLLY wish you would react to his newer songs. My favorite is I’ll Remember You.
I think that he is saying the moon sees all at night, including the temptation that comes late night. Remember the Bob lived his life in bars late at night. I guess the songwriter did too.
So I hope you've realized by now just how deep this rabbit hole is gonna be...there's probably 20-25 more that will probably be requested not including his lil Drummer Boy and another Christmas tune he's put out...along with all his song he always has a writing credit for the Eagles " Heartache Tonight "...which he contributed too over the phone when his great friend Glen Fred called him when he and Don Henley got stalled...they had everything but a chorus..Bob said play what you got up too where the chorus be...then Bob sang out the chorus immediately stunning both Glen and Don...think about that...
Crowell is a great writer, one of the few covers Bob has done. " When I heard Seger’s version of “Shame on the Moon,” I thought he just killed it. So I stopped singing it myself, and I haven’t really performed it since. And I said, “Man, I wrote that song, but I’ll never bring what he brought to it.”
@@bobseger4716 lifelong fan now living in Raleigh, NC area. Love your music and great story telling from your song writing and you were just my kind of guy, wish I was young again

Seger tunes will take you where ever you need to be
Bob Seger is the reason I don’t feel ashamed to admit I grew up in Detroit.
Glen Frey was a lead vocalist for The Eagles. He was very good friends with Bob Segar. Now that's a Definite rabbit hole you Need to explore!!
Bob Seger is from Detroit. 😏😁
Finally someone reviewed this song! One of my favorites of his incredible catalog of songs.
Roll Me Away, The Famous Final Scene, Horizontal Bop, and Feel Like a Number.
Song was written and performed originally by country artist Rodney Crowell. Seger took it to another level with his vocals and instrumental arrangements but he stayed true to the original!!! That's why it mentioned the country charts! Love from Texas!!!
Crowell released his version in 1981. It was Bob's version that climbed the country charts in '83.
Another rabbit hole to go down.
The Eagles 😱

A legend.
Yeah, but they block everything people try to do with them. Don Henley is a hardass about it.
Omg I haven't heard this song in ages and i heard it twice today! While I was having a medical procedure it was on the radio this morning and now here. Thats alright with me!!!!!!✌️❤️
Bob Seger is the working man's Bruce Springstein.
Unlike the "Boss" Bob never sold out.
Old Time Rock and Roll, Katmandu, I'll Accompany You, Main Street, are great Sger songs

I think that one of his best songs is "The Famous Final Scene". Surprised to see that there's only a few reactions to it. It's a masterpiece.
I was just going to add this one! So gooooood!
Man so glad you did this. It’s my favorite Seger song

Glenn Frey also on vocals, he was in the Eagles. r I p. btw his name is pronounced “fry”.
Glenn Fry was a founding member of the Eagles

Saw him in ‘62-ish at a summer cottage event in Michigan. Bob Seger and the Last Herd. Really early on in his career.
"What is that word?" as you look straight at us. lol! I got a giggle out of that. The words you're looking for is "on a beach in California". 😉
Midnight IS the 'witching hour'.

I've always really loved, "Coming Home" off that same album. It wasn't a single or a hit, but it's so good.
I always loved this song. Your reaction was just as I expected, you love it too.
YEAH EVERY SONG IS GREAT, ( HOUSE BEHIND A HOUSE ) IS A BANGER FOR SURE SALVO!😊

Try his “The Ring”. Got me right in the gut.
Moon (Luna) Lunatic lol People in love or whatever do things they maybe wouldn't do if not under a full moon lol
Seger is loner music. You can picture him writing, singing alone. Self reflection music road trip music at its best

Like a Boardwalk?
Not exactly 'night moves'. But nice chorus.
Not a big deal….but Frey is pronounced Fry.
