Project Update! - Gateway Trout Unlimited Brown Trout Project

- The Gateway Trout Unlimited Chapter had three board members, Louis Whittenberg, Erik Sanders and Wes Swee visit Westover Farms in Steeleville MO where we implanted a population of wild brown trout from Utah in Dry Creek a month previous.
Our project was approved by the Missouri Department of Conservation after five years of conversations and we are proud to have their support in this endeavor to help wild browns survive better in Missouri watersheds.

@@OutdoorsPodcast Hey AJ...thanks for pinning my post. I'm not super savvy on social media but I assume that's a good thing...LOL. Appreciate all your videos. I took up fly fishing about 6 years ago and it's now an obsession. Winter months are grueling to not have fishing trips right around the corner. I have found a renewed interest in backpacking to fill the void from tour videos. Glad you survived the Powder Mill trip (no pun intended). Hope the only thing hurt was your pride :-)

We’ve seen some really positive signs that the browns are growing. They have a project going on this fall. Make sure you check out their website at gatewaytu.org for info if you’d like to volunteer

Any updates?
We did a youth fishing event at Westover about a month ago in early April and some guys had caught some fingerling browns in the dry creek branch that wouldn't otherwise likely be there! I haven't heard from Gateway TU on the next planting date, but I'd check out the website and the project page for sure. Thanks for the comment!
