My dad bought one for me in the early seventies. It still looks nearly new. The first time I shot it he warned me to keep my fingers on the fore end and out of the action. I then proceeded to catch my pinky finger in it while shooting. A lesson I'll never forget. Nice video.
Great Gun, I own a Grade II in dedicated .22 short. Cut a few coils of the mainspring, polished the bolt and it shoots CCI Mini Caps as fast as I can pull the trigger. Its fitted with a small Leupold and is my dedicated backyard gun. Thanks for the videos too. I'm turning 58 in a few months (God willing) and when I saw your videos, I was inspired. God Bless
The quality of Browning Firearms is hard to beat. I had a Browning BAR .22LR that I had for years that was super accurate but I felt it was heavy when loaded. This rifle would have been a nice alternative but I didn't know they existed back in 1978. Good video but I would have liked to see you try it out with the new ammo. The only way to get ammo at a decent price is to buy in bulk.
I wanted one ever since I first saw it as a young boy and I now own 3. The design is just ingenious. I don't do much shooting anymore but I have tons of .22 ammo if I ever want to.
@@MyHollowpoint What ammo do you like to shoot? I run a lot of Federal and CCI . I like copper coated the best. I have found that if I run a light patch of oil ( two drops) between shooting sessions at the range, I don't get copper buildup. I now have a Browning Buckmark Hunter with the red colored grips and a Henry AR7 in camo that is a blast to shoot. If ever you want to part with any of your ammo, I would be interested.😊
Beautiful rifle. I share your love of Browning guns. I had one in the safe for years I purchased for my daughter and she took it home some years ago. I will have to look for another. A great piece of history.
+ely336 Thank you. She has a real sweet rifle. I just happen to see this one in a gun shop and went home. Got to thinking about it and knew it'd be gone when I went back so I turned around and hurried back to get it.
Thank you Monsieur. I have just bought one . Very informative and interesting. Hope I enjoy mine as much as you are evidentially enjoying your rifle. Respect to you and your loved ones from Europe.
Nice video. I got an older one that was made in Belgium and actually the receiver is cut for a scope instead of the cantilever mount for the barrel. It has a couple of small issues. There is a spot of the bluing on one side of the receiver that needs a little attention and someone did what you said about taking it apart and CRACKED THE STOCK which I fixed. Other than that it's in pretty good shape, I got it for $369.99+tax. I ALSO got 30days FREE RANGE TIME for the purchase.😳😁😉👍 I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY.😉👍
+deputysheriff100 I think they're a fine looking little .22 . Haven't shot it yet but they say the sights are set at the factory at 50 yards. I won't be shooting that far but we'll see if I can hit the target with it.
I bought one in 1992 and still own it. The wood is beautiful, and it shoots great! I will pass it on to my son someday! (Being he lives in Califuku, I hope he can keep a semi auto)
+gunnwild1 Thank you. Needed one I wouldn't feel bad about shooting. This one fills the ticket. On some of the higher grades I think the cost is in the stock. Browning has some nice ones.
Beautiful rifle. The truly genius designs hold up and last thru time. At 40 cents a pop, that .22 ammo had better hit the bulls eye every time and serve up a great cup of coffee with it. lol
Always enjoy your love of guns and dogs😄 I have a grade VI locked away and miss the grade one I passed to my daughter. So I come across one today and it had to come home. Wish they made a nice soft case for it. Looking at the hard case but can't find any Browning brand soft cases for it. Part of the fun looking. Any way regards from a fellow lover of Browning guns.
+ely336 Same thing going on here. I'm keeping the Grade 1 in the box it came in. I'll be shooting this one in a few days and I'm looking forward to it. The VI grade stays in it's original box too.
They had you in mind on those .22 shells. I paid that much for Winchester 333 Rounds of copper top h.p. 22 LR. I've been scoring big at Academy the past month with Winchester and CCI .22LR 100 rounds on up.
+TwoFeatherChannel Yep, I've been doing well at Academy too and the prices are decent on the Winchester and CCI but last trip I saw these and curiosity got the best of me but it was all they had on that trip.
wow! I'm green with envy lol. I have always wanted one but I'm still in that "I can't afford one category"what a beautiful gun probably would cringe while loading it that stock is sooo pretty.
+bloodhound122 Thank you. It's going to be fun to shoot one for the first time. I stayed in the "I want it" category most of my life. I'm going to enjoy shooting this pretty thing.
Look forward to a video or report on shooting your sa22. Still have my eye on the new Ruger take down with the heavy threaded barrel think my sparrow will look nice on it. Also have a Kidd order for a new bolt and bolt release. Have a couple of their trigger updates on hand that give 1 3/4 lb triggers. It is nice you can do so much with the 10/22's but still enjoy the old timers like sa22 for us old timers. Eyes are starting to fade and harder to see iron sights. Take care and happy shooting🔫
+ely336 I'll shoot a tube full with maybe a side view thrown in. I love Kidd products and have used a lot of them. Probably have their products in every one of my 10/22's. Their trigger kits do wonders.
+fire1777 No, this is nice but there are a lot of much cheaper guns out there that are great. 10/22 comes to mind by Ruger. Marlin has some cheaper ones too.
Like anything it depends on how bad the buyer wants one. Made in Belgium definitely ups the price considerably. You'd have to check online to get an idea of what it's worth today.
+Icarryone I was surprised to see this one. They don't usually stay on the rack very long. A really unique little firearm that must be a good design to have been around so long.
What I find interesting about the older designs is they made a very complex firearm, and then just because they could, they make it takedown. They seldom design with that convenience in mind now, when when they do they make a big deal about it, back then it was pare for the course.
+MyHollowpoint A genius for sure. I got a used one for Christmas as a child. Great shooter, many rabbit and squirrel in the pot, mostly rabbit! Hope you enjoy it!
+Caddilacjim Thank you. It is indeed and I've seen some on the internet that cost even more. The professionals must take shooting paper VERY seriously. I'm going to love shooting this little .22 .
+Buckrun11 I've admired this rifle for years and thought it was time to get one to shoot. The Interarms is a perfect copy and easier on the wallet. Haven't shot it yet but seems to be a good shooter on the videos I've watched.
+Joey Cuz Thank you, it'll make a fine shooter. Rudy has gotten to be a pain in the ass. He wants me next to him 24/7 or he'll irritate the shit out of me till I'm by him.
+stainlessfour5 Thank you. No, really haven't seen one I can't live without. Since my favorite shop closed it put a damper on my seeing any real nice ones. Just don't see them anymore.
Beautiful gun, sweet shooter, one of John Browning favorites! Best shooting 22 I have ever shot. Class 6 is too nice to shoot. Very accurate and natural pointer. I have killed hundreds of squirrels with mine over the years. The 22 short is a different model, let me know if it will shoot a short, I have never tried. I do have video of shooting it. How much was it? Cmax
+Cmax Arms I'll check out your vid. Guy may have been wrong, we'll see. I paid something like $579 if I remember correctly May have been $600 after taxes.
+MyHollowpoint It really is worth it...it is one of those things that if you shot it, you would pay it!!!!! It is "only a 22" but it is one of my nicest guns.......Cmax
+ShootingandStuffwithTrees Thanks Trees. I haven't shot it yet and it's got me chomping at the bit. I've had the time but not enough to make a vid of shooting it the first time.

The genius of the design boggles my mind. Love this rifle. I'll mess with the internals on a 10/22 but I'm afraid to mess this beauty up :)
Best video on this rifle!

You did well! Very unique rifle for sure.
very cool and interesting older rifle.
+BATJAC J.W Very interesting design when you consider how old it is.
it's like when you stop and think on dates and what they had, like in 1873 that was some advanced stuff for it's time.
That's a handsome rifle. Ejects from the bottom and loads like a Spencer. Love it.

Very unique in my opinion, love it's design.
To disassemble and assemble, do you not have to first move the small lever between the guard and the ejector?
Thanks and greetings from Spain.
You are correct :)
That is one beautiful rifle you have there Chuck. I love the walnut furniture
+gunnwild1 Thank you. Needed one I wouldn't feel bad about shooting. This one fills the ticket. On some of the higher grades I think the cost is in the stock. Browning has some nice ones.
On my bucket list….
Nice rifle to own 😁
beautiful gun... simple and elegant
It's a lot of fun to shoot. Unique always hooks me :)
Another beautiful Browning, very nice!
+Brad Thomas A unique little rifle in a sea of marketed .22's.
+MyHollowpoint yes it is!
The walnut stock looks great.
+revolver8shot It's pretty , just doesn't have that thick coat found on the higher dollar models.
That is a well built 22 and it looks good too!!
+Bayou Chilehead It's tight as a drum and just very unique in my opinion.
Always wanted one of those. Maybe some day I will have one. Beautiful!
+MrZonacat1 I waited a lifetime for this one. Can't wait to shoot it. You may enjoy looking at the one in the link provided in the description.
Beautiful rifle. The truly genius designs hold up and last thru time.

+KSFWG Pure genius in design. Buy Eric a case of those and he'll shoot them for you and let you know if they're any good. No, really, he will.

Since I have a Grade 6 in this model I suppose I'd let this one go.
thats beautiful
