    So this was done in early 2016...way before hardwired come out. Yet at 1:50 you play the clean riff from halo on fire XD

    wtf that clean at 1:55 sounds exactly like Halo on Fire but this is way before the new album came out???

      That's magic. Either Matt went to future and listened to new album and played halo on fire lick here or James saw this video and made this one into a song.... But it's REALLY close to what is on the new album. Mistery....

    Thanks buddy, had my eye on this for a while. What gauge strings does it come with? Reckon it'd be good to play drop tuned a step? What pickups do you prefer for rhythm / solo?

    • @mattriffmaster
      @mattriffmaster  7 років тому

      +Iron Tanks Pty Ltd hey! This one came with 10's dropped a step sounds good with the right gauge! The hetfield emgs for me just nail it! And the emg 81/60 have always been my favourite!! Great tones!!

    • @IrontanksAuGymGear
      @IrontanksAuGymGear 7 років тому

      Thanks dude, been a while since i've picked up a guitar with active pickups - is the 81 in the neck / bridge? Love the fact that you can get a range of sound with these. I have a blackstar amp with no pedals or other effects (it's only a small 5W amp.. thinking of upgrading for a meatier sound..)

    • @mattriffmaster
      @mattriffmaster  7 років тому

      the only con i can find to this amp is that it hasnt got a STEREO effects loop.. i like to combine one amp left and an other amp to the right.. thats what i do now.. i use a jazz chorus 120 as PA and cab with the boss gt100 and it does a good job but im not sure about the distortion, if it good, if it is not.. and im thinking about that head.. not sure yet, what you think? maybe a tube head? or is that good?
