Nice comparison Ellizon - just stumbled on this - question - did you use the Multicam LUT or the Default one with the Magenta and warmth bump to offset the natural green and coolness of the P6k?
@@EllizonTorres no worries. So the idea with the default is that you use it at 0 tint as it adds a fair amount of magenta itself. So you had double magenta offset going on. The reason for the default is that I noticed the natural tint and wb for the P4k/6k we’re very green and cool so I added the default to correct this (by adding warmth and magenta as well as the look of each lut). The multicam adds no colour cast or tint and just takes the camera signal as is and then transforms the colour into the look specific to each LUT (alexa or Film etc). This is why a lot of the shots looked a lot more magenta than the others - if you’re going to add +10 magenta then best to use the multicam. If you set it to 0 then use the the default. All discussed in the readme :)
@@garfunkle37 That's very insightful! Thanks for sharing that information. It was a pretty quick test on my part - I'm certain I could dial it in. I'll certainly keep that in mind for the next Phantom test I run! I'll make sure to address that as well! Thanks again.
Hi! Primarily due to the natural tint on my lens. I believe I had an IR cut filter on the lens at the time and it pushed it toward green more than preferred.
Nice! Actually same deal for me. Most of the work that I’ve been doing lately has been a bit more documentary filmmaking style, which I’ve also edited, so the faster I can streamline and get a nice looking image with a little tweaking, the better for me! Which Phantom LUT is your favorite? Also, have you tried the Film Unlimited package by Juan Melara (P6K2A)?
@@EllizonTorres my favorite phantom is tungsten for sure, but depending on the environment it will mute some colors, but the skin definitely pops! utopia is second, the neutral i find too magenta, I haven´t tried the unlimited, the kodak one looks nice on a few images but not on most of my shoots unfortunately
@@TheGuigotz nice! I agree with you on those! Haven’t gotten into using the other versions too much lately. I tend to use phantom for those film that I need to put out quickly and don’t require too much detailed grading (I.e. weddings/small shoots)
I just got the phantom today to compare to P6K2A and i dont think i like the phantom luts at all 😂 they dont feel like the natural arri colors, they feel more contrasty and punchy, skies dont look as blue, plants and trees lose color....i think if you are on a budget just get the P6k2A youll be very happy
P6A & BMD OG
Nice! I enjoy them all for different purposes but lately my go-to LUT has been P6K2A

Thanks Joel! Glad you enjoyed this comparison. I used the default one here. WB was set to 5000K and tint to +10. Have you tested this LUT before?

Hey, Ellizon. May i ask, why did you set plus 10 tint?
Hi! Primarily due to the natural tint on my lens. I believe I had an IR cut filter on the lens at the time and it pushed it toward green more than preferred.
I can't seem to find a good answer...are you guys slapping these right on braw or converting the footage first?
Hey Skip! These LUTs are going directly onto the Braw footage.
Been using p6k2alexa And Phantom a Lot , bit mostly p6k2alexa, And you ?

@@EllizonTorres i have the Film Unlimited pack. I’m using it on a short I’m filming. It looks great but all those nodes can be slow on playback.

Totally hear you! I find that I use the P6K2A combined with a Fuji lut at 30% most!
