Same here, but with the whole of Runaway. Always hated or didn't care about him, but after Runaway and Blame Game during tough times with a girl, I fell in love with MBDTF, and his music.

There's times I'm over Kanye...the exhausting persona and tantrums have me tuning him out for long periods of time. This is one of the songs that pulls me back in and reminds me "Oh yeah - that's why he's KANYE." As time passes I see it's not self hate as much as it's acceptance after honestly confronting vices and imperfections.

He’s not the best singer on a technical level, but he’s extremely talented when it comes to the ability to convey emotion in his singing. Like you can FEEL him when he’s signing if that makes sense. It feels like a raw performance with insane passion.
