What a spectacular engine. I have the Lionel version and as nice as that one is, this one makes it pale in comparison. It’d be interesting to see a comparison.
Amazing video! The AC9 is such a beautiful locomotive. Looking forward to updat #6 as well. I've been trying to keep up with layout progress on your OGR forum posts. Thanks for sharing, Ethan
Great looking locomotive. What bothers me, is us HO and N scale guys, have been asking for an AC9 in our scale for decades, yet there seems to be no problems having one available in the larger scales, but in HO and N scale the only AC9's available have been in brass, and are VERY expensive
MartyLJ57 Because back then, trains were run on a schedule by the timetable. If they needed to run an "extra" train, an "X" was placed on the number boards to identify that train as being an EXTRA.
Being a recent self described nerd of the SP I love what you’ve got going on here. Can you tell me please, is this your layout as it looks like it’s taken over the living area of a home, and if so (I’m considering the same), do you have any reservations or regrets in doing so. Thank you!
Yes it is my Dad's layout that him and I built in their livingroom and dining room. Please watch my other videos for details on the layout construction
@@Laidoffsick I’m currently running through a list of your videos and skimming through Sunset’s 3rd Rail website. I will watch the recommended videos, thank you.
pjasyl Hardest part replacing the coupler is drilling the mounting holes through the brass frame. Just need sharp bits. The roundhouse was a kit from Brennan's Model Railroading, a 3 stall kit, plus 4 additional stalls, and extension for all the stalls. We can fit a Big Boy in all 7 stalls. One of the layout video updates shows the kit and it's progress from beginning to end.
I just got my son this train, he’s 4 and loves his trains
I have one. Absolutely gorgeous and operates like a precision Swiss watch.
Love the detail of this locomotive! That was a nice touch putting the Cab Forward in there
Great video..The un-sync engines make the sound more realistic.....
Thanks for sharing.....
Frank from Oz......
Love this layout and beautiful Class AC-9!
honesty, I'd live to see a brand new AC-9 being built just like right now, I'm living to see a brand new PRR T-1 Duplex locomotive being built.
Beautiful railroad and apparently all steam. I love that!
g bridgman thank you

Thanks for reply and information .
Will check out the layout video updates.
Like Wow • Great roundhouse & action.
• Cheers from Michigan
Great run!
"Just absol. BEAUTIFUL" !!
Your loco servicing area is looking good. A great looking locomotive, you must have deep pockets!
struck2soon They are not that deep, they just have holes in them lol
That locomotive looks interesting.
That's awesome! Love the layout also...wow!!!
Thank you.
3rd rail locos are awesome
Nice work as usual!
Absolutely awesome!!
0:04 1.25 makes it cooler

@@Laidoffsick Thanks!
Beautiful model. Should we be expecting more videos from you soon? We don't get enough! :P
Railroadkid1937 I'm trying, I'm trying.... I have shot the video update #6, but still need to edit it. Thank you
No problem my friend I really enjoy your videos!
Maybe I should ask this over at OGRFORUM, why are some placards on the front on engines marked with an X before the numbers?

LOT'S OF DETAIL ON THIS BRASS ENGINE!
WAS IT DIFFICULT TO REPLACE THE COUPLER?
THE ROUNDHOUSE WAS IT SCRATCH BUILT OR FROM A KIT?

What's your reasoning behind scale couplers? More realistic?
Latios Gaming absolutely. those gigantic 3 rail couplers look ridiculous on a detailed scale locomotive
Laidoffsick Understandable. I like the full size couplers on mine because they're more kid friendly and forgiving.
How is a Kadee coupler not be forgiving; it's design is pure genius. What's interesting is the Kadee is also "oversize" and not 1:48.
Nice
can those trains run on lionel track?
Kristal Kat... yes
Any chance this ones going for a discount?
where did you get the turn table
