    I had to laugh because my tatting needles are bent too! I need to relax! Thanks for posting this snowflake tutorial, I've tried others with no success, but I know I can do it by following your instructions. You are the best!

    I'm glad I found your video because there's a mistake in your pattern. In the instructions for the small cluster it doesn't say to connect the second small ring to the picot in the first ring. Now that I've figured that out it should go much more smoothly.

    I'm new to needle tatting and have been watching your videos. Thank you so much.
    I have tried looking for the patterns, but they are not there. How long do you keep the pattern on your website?

    I had high hopes for this video but got lost with special step.

      Sorry if you were disappointed. You definitely don't have to do the special step, it is purely done to help the finished work lay smoother and be stronger. It can definitely be skipped.

    I started learning to needle tat 18 days ago (New Year’s Day 2022). Your videos have already saved my projects several times. This morning I woke up to find that my cat had chewed through my thread. I had no idea how to fix that until I watched your video showing how to attach new thread. I watched this one to see an example of the correct way to attach a final chain to the first ring. Success!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    Katie, thank you for posting this. I'm trying to learn to tat and I'm really getting frustrated, it seems my thread keeps getting twisted. A question that I have is when you hold the needle where on your hand does the eye lay? Mine seems to be in the area between my little finger and ring finger and it's starting to hurt, am I just not cut out for tatting?

    • @RustiKate
      @RustiKate  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Nancy! I will try to find away to share a photo or video with you of how I hold my needle, within the next few days. I totally don't think you are not cut out for this, you can do it! :) And be assured it shouldn't hurt.

      @@RustiKate Thank you. This is crazy, I've spent my whole adult life fixing multi million dollar helicopter engines, I'll not give up.

      Hi Nancy, I have not forgotten you. Filmed a short video of needle position that I use, but have been delayed in getting it edited. In the meantime, I tend to put the most pressure from needle on my index finger and use my pointer finger to balance and use as spacer for making picots. The eye of the needle lays along the pad of my thumb (anatomy term "thenar eminence") but doesn't often touch or rub, it just lightly glides past. My ring and little fingers are free, and only are used for guiding thread as needed. Hope that helps!? I'll get video up when I can. :)

      @@RustiKate I've been an engine mechanic for 45 years and I sometimes have trouble with my hands cramping, having said that I may not have a future in tatting. I spent a little while this morning working at it but had to stop because my right hand cramped. Please, don't hurry with a video, I'll keep trying, but I won't be sad, at least I gave it a go.
