I started tatting several months ago and have periodically trying this square. After about a dozen tries, I got it! Thanks for rewriting this beautiful motif in needle tatting!
I'm glad it helped. Believe me I had trouble with this pattern too. I thought it was so pretty, I even tried learning shuttle tatting... but at the end of the day I decided to stick with needle tatting, and I finally got this pattern down. Thank you so much for watching.
I am very new to needle tatting, is this the normal way of working, ie. first row worked from right to left, second row worked anticlockwise? Thank you for this great tutorial, I nailed it immediately 👍
Not traditionally. You usually close a ring and turn or close a chain and turn. But since I wanted this have the look on shuttle tatting I didn't turn. I'm not great at tatting and I probably broke some rules...lol I hope this answers your question. Have a great day. Thanks for watching. I'm glad you were able to follow along.
