Also works with the duck and if you place an item on the bottom shelf by using free cam it will jump put to the next shelf. Useful to know if you have the root cellar.shelter with some shelves in it already.
Think this was a method of filling shelves carried over from fallout 4. Remember watching videos about it when i first got into camp building then I learnt about sinky dirt and pressure plate merging and promptly forgot about it. Great to be reminded about some or the earlier techniques and they still have their uses( as someone else said this is really useful for putting stuff on the existing shelves in the root cellar shelter
I still prefer to just place items on top and then merge them down, no finnicky mats, no having to fuss about with sizing items for each shelf, just put it on top and merge it down a shelf at a time, lol.
Whatever you find easiest is the best way, nothing wrong with merging them. You'd be surprised at how many people are wary of merge glitching though it's mad
I've never seen that trick to fill up the shelves. I use the pressure plate method. If I can find the plans for the little VT stash box I'll give it a go. Thanks.
Thanks for this and the previous 101 vid, very useful for a relatively new player like myself. Especially since the base building mechanic of this game is such a pain. Normally I use the decorate top shelve then drop down method but this method I didn't know yet and looks very interesting. Really liking the fact that you can blueprint 1 shelve at a time and then just mix and match it as you build along. Hope to see more of these to the point instructionals, great job.
Question!? I'm a Fallout 1,2,3 &4 true fan and veteran. I don't understand how to place items, because whenever I drop something it ends up in what looks like a paper bag. In FO 4 you could drop an item put your dot on it and hold X and you could move it where you need to. In 76, I'm lost. Just started playing 76 about a week ago and have reached level 31. I was 134 in FO4 and lord of the wasteland, but here I'm running more than fighting. I really took pride in building some really cool settlements, but I'm really lame with 76.
You can't drop and display junk like you can in fo4. To display items now you can use weapon displays, armour mannequins or display cases. The only way you can display junk other than these methods is using the chessboard which is actually designed to be a junk display. Unfortunately it was a season reward from the last scoreboard.
@TNG76 But can you drop an item and then place it somewhere? I haven't figured out how to yet. In 4 you hold X over it and can move it or sometimes pick up a box to turn it over to see if it had an item in it. Anyway to do that? Also,FYI ,I'm the oldest Fallout player. I've been gaming since King Kong was a spider monkey. I'm 72yrs old!
I find this method he is showing allows for better height control on items so nothing looks floating which is harder with merging IMO. Skills & tricks vary but helps to know them all. No reason not to have a full toolbox of building tricks 😉
Haha. I've been trying to get that little stash box for two years. I started playing after Nuclear Winter and never have any luck with the mole miner pails.
i literally stumbled on the plan in a player vender after the mole miners event. so my advice, try to get it through the mole miner treasure hunter event, but also just after the event if you are unlucky server hop some player shops.
Thanks, can you do one on the chessboard glitch too I don't understand the one that is out there. I want to be able to put "Junk" like toys or teddy bears wherever I want.
Hey man I followed your video. I also did everything that you said with what I had to fit in between the shelves after I had everything moved into the shelving and made it into a blueprint now I'm trying to place it in my camp and it's telling me it cannot place item need support. Did I do something wrong
really how long this game been out and they can't make it so you can just put something on a shelf... wtf why spend money for this garbage .. these workarounds are a waste of time f dis
Glad you're finding this useful guys, personally I prefer this method over merging items in but it's whatever floats your boat. Much love 🍻❤️
I’m gonna try this was next time I full a shelf!!❤️
Hey buddy, nicely represented video, easy going champ
Also works with the duck and if you place an item on the bottom shelf by using free cam it will jump put to the next shelf. Useful to know if you have the root cellar.shelter with some shelves in it already.
And you can place almost everything on a duck. Shelter entrances prefabs etc.
Dang, this is way easier than the merge glitch! Be using this for now on. Thanks!

Yeah good old fo4 method
100% going to be using these methods. I don't mind merging but with these shelves it makes me wanna stab my eye out. Thanks for these tips!
I was using the pressure plates all this time, nice work mate.
Great video man. Tutorials always seem to do well. There's always newer players that need help with building.

I agree, mostly because I tend to max out the build budget so I want as little "unnecessary" items as possible when I decorate!
Same. It's much easier than this method as well.
Whatever you find easiest is the best way, nothing wrong with merging them. You'd be surprised at how many people are wary of merge glitching though it's mad
@@TNG76 I just can't stand the terrain merge method. It's the trusty old pressure plate for me. Lol
With you on that one! Terrain merge is a ballache, too much of a faf!
Never actually saw this method before! Thanks for sharing!! 😊
You can also burn the Shelf if you do not want to use the door mat. Then you save your Budget
How?

Can you get rid of the rug after you have everything placed down cause it seems to scrap everything or do I need to use those conduits instead
No mate you have to leave the rug in situe but you can hide it alot better than I have, I've got one blueprint where you can't see the rug at all
when in the atom store my #1 question is “will this fit on the shelves”

@@tonydabaloney nah mate every time you drop an item in 76 it goes into a bag. No way of placing any dropped item unfortunately

nice vid. i use the drop merge method. both get same results.
Brilliant. Come do my bookshelves, will ya ?! 🤣🥰
Nicely done! Not how I do mine but this may be easier and look better!! Thanks for sharing! ❤❤
Used to do this before we were drop merging on sloped terrain
Old but gold ❤😊, thx tng
Nice one man. Brave wardrobe choice😂 or lack of choice i suppose lmao
The only question I have for this, is where do I find the plan for the small stash box, been looking for a couple of years now :D
I do belive it's from nuclear winter, you MAY be able to get it off minerva now like some of the old NW items but I'm not 100% sure
mole miner pales, it used to be a nuclear winter item, but they made it a mole miner pale reward after they canned nuclear winter.

Simply simply loverly ❤
Cerealy... and i did work my ass off with merge glitches on the shelves... -_-
Wish Bethesda would not have to make us do this,go through all this trouble 🤦🏻
I'm pretty sure it probably causes server instability. Condensing assets like this can cause crashing, latency, hit reg issues etc.
Is there a way to get this to work with water purifiers?
How do you get the liberator camp item? I googled but the results weren't very helpful.
Atomic shop item buddy
@@TNG76 cheers, I thought that might be it

I prefer using pressure plates and flamer traps
Thanks dude
I’m having a hard time doing this glitch, rugs trying to go on top of it anyone know a solution?
❤😊
Lool and then there’s people like me, who waste time filling up shelves with chessboards 😂 why I never watched this video before, so much less hustle
Wtf is a bernie by 1200? Be specific my dude. Pretend im a noob noob at building
It's the flamethrower trap to destroy stuff
