Garrett isn’t a pass first qb, he never has been and never will be. He is a one/two read and go guy and he is phenomenal when he does that. We seen the shackles come off against Kansas, we seen what they did last week, why the Sam Houston hell is hanging in there forever? Every qb under Neal Brown has regressed, they all turn into doege. To quote RVK, HEY HEY HO HO. Leaving an injured center that’s snapping them over the qbs head is preposterous, not at least trying nicco is preposterous, the play calling was preposterous and the list goes on and on.
Neal Brown not pulling Garret for Nicho is no surprise. I fell off the Neal bandwagon when he refused to pull Jarret Douge in That awful bowl game against Minnesota a few years ago. Hindsight is always 20/20 but we had a chance to pick up Curt Cignette but chose to stick with Brown.
Think about next week with Kansas State 5-1, what excuses are going to be used in that game? I fell the AD Department won't get rid of him because they are happy to keep him with 6 games winning season, we had better coaches with better records that were fired. But after 6 years where are we, even Brown having to recruit for all those years at 50% wins. Look in 6 years we went to 3 bowl games, liberty Bowl with Army won by 3, the 2021 Guaranteed Rate Bowl with Minnesota lost, and the last one, the 2023 Duke's Mayo Bowl, we won 30-10. We need to do better, we have great talent, use it. I know Greene can run, but if you use him every other play they will stop him, use your other talent on the team.
The reason BROWN has such a long leash is the buyout. West Virginia is not going to get rid of him until they don’t have to pay that. I’m convinced of that.
Not sure I’ve ever seen a coach whine and complain as much as Neil Brown. Look in the mirror and do some self reflection. What could Brown and the staff do to put the players in a position be more successful? Iowa State obviously made adjustments. Brown just whines, complains, and finds someone to blame. That’s not leadership.
3-16 against ranked opponents and only ONE of those teams ended the season with a winning record (Iowa State 7-6 2020). Not only can NB not win big games, he can’t even beat likewise mediocre opponents.
What a sad program we’ve become. Friends are asking me what happened to wvu football? Better part of a decade of this nonsense and it’s impacting the university in a negative way.
3-5 defense sucks... No pressure = lose every game. Stop blaming the offense and start blaming the defensive coordinator and his crap 3-5 d .. it makes any qb look like a pro

You nailed it! They could be looking at 3-5 going into the bye week.
Well said.

Our player development is just not good. You see it with the QB play, the lack of draft picks. We are becoming more irrelevant by the week.
Please resign Neal!!!!!!!!

You're right, as long he wins 6 games, I believe they are happy to keep him! That is why he is only after 6 years 50% win / 50% lost record
Sadly, prob right
What is the buy out after this season?

Maybe it's just time to realize the glory days of WVU are in the past.
