Context of aria within the plot: After the comedians fail to cheer up Ariadne, Zerbinetta tries to talk with her alone. She says that it isn't worth it to cry over men who break a woman's heart, and that she must look for a new lover. Then she talks about her previous romantic adventures, and how she enjoys being seduced by a new lover.
