    🤗 Hey Dee, I'm staying in tuned with you, loving your videos and appreciative of the good work your doing. Back in 1984, I was stationed there in Phillipines with the U.S. Marines and learned a lot from the Aetas ( Negritoes). The U.S. military contract with many of them via the Philippines goverment to teach the U S Military how to survive in a jungle environment, the training is called J.E.S.T: Jungle Survival Training, which was held in the mountain of the Zimbales very near were you are today. The Aetas have a great amount of knowledge that date back for over a thousand years. Of all the Filipinos they're most likely one of the few untouched by Western standards and culture brought to the Philippines by the Spaniards colonization of this part of Asia and later the Americans soon after. My observation of the Aetas when I was there are that their very intelligent in their own culture and traditions that seem very different from those of the West. They have manage to survive alone and secluded without the help of the Spanish or Americans andbhave so much pride in themselves and their culture. Even until this day 42 years later I often think of the Aetas and the skills I learned from them of how to find food, make shelter using bamboo, make a fire , trap wild animals, and clean ourselves in a jungle environment. One other thing I will never forget is this tree bark which they used a bolo machete to cut from a tree and then gave it to us to bathe with in a lake, to our amazement this bark had the same smell as the Irish Spring Soap that we use here in the U. S. These Aetas may live very simple lives but they have a treasure chest of knowledge.

It would be good too if you let us know what type of flavor your local foods have. To me the heart seems as if it may be acidic like bamboo or palm hearts. It looks so good when cooked. Your woven shopping bag is so pretty. Will subscribe from Utah, USA.

    • @shyme6953
      @shyme6953 Рік тому +1

      @@proyouservicesltd3652 we don't eat raw. We boil it first. Boiling helps it to cook fast and better. Then fry it with oil and add spices. That's the basic but we also add different vegetables, head part of some specific fishes eaten locally, prawns etc. We also fry them Little separately and then add it at the end and Cook together little. Banana stems also very popular here and cooked almost same way. And they are very delicious and defines our culture as mixing vegitable with fishes is not common in every part in India. There are videos available in UA-cam, just search recipes with 'Mocha' and 'Thore' (that is banana flower n stem), you can give it a try.
