@@intellectracoon Same. I was always failing my no damage run against him when I was starting spamming then when I stopped spamming I did it and really improved overall.
It’s all about spamming L1 for the first couple seconds and then trying to time it when starting out. Sort of combining both while you figure it out. That’s been a safer method for me to start to figuring out patterns.
What nobody explains: Its all about priority: attack, first and you have priority. If they try and just counter you they get hit. Once you hear them making a clean deflect, you have lost. priority. If you attack now you will get hit. Once you do a clean parry, you have priority again. Thats the main mechanic of the game.
I kind of got this without really understanding what was happening in the Genichiro fight. It's very easy to get into a loop where you each parry one attack and then get perried back. It's so cool that I wasn't really thinking about what was happening but I understood we were taking turns.
Tip: Perfect parry has one start-up frame and 30 active frames, so the parry window last 0.5 seconds at 60fps. If you hold the parry button for 0.5 seconds, you'll increase your chance of a parry. If you mash, you're cutting the duration of active frames short since there's no end lag which reduces the probability of a parry. Trust me, this works. I rematched Isshin and Old Monk and was able to parry full combos. You don't have to remember boss frame data. Just hold guard the second the enemy starts an attack.
Tip 11: Piggybacking off of tip #4. The sound works both ways. While attacking, you can tell when your last attacking swing will be before your enemy attacks back by the sound. While attacking, if the enemy is blocking, the sound is a noticable lower pitch. On the very last block, before the enemy starts attacking, the pitch will get noticably higher. It may take a few enemies before you can tell, but once you pick it up you will never attack too many times. The swing that you hear the pitch change means you need to go from attacking to blocking.
I recommend unlocking mid air prosthetic and doing jump attacks with the loaded axe, it comes out way faster and can help you get the jump on an enemy Edit: consider unlocking mid air combat art as well, as you can do jumping mortal draw which is much faster and does hella damage.

@@ozzy1243 Jam the Loaded Spear up the Headless Ape's neck hole and then drag it back (R2, R2) to do massive posture damage and trivialise the second phase and the rematch.
I learned that if you can time it right you can stack a ton of posture damage quickly by using a combination of tools and combat arts. The purple fire cracker makes enemies take extra health and posture damage for a short time after being stunned. So you can do a combo to maximize posture damage for bosses with weak posture. You use Ako Sugar (Or Yashariku if you want) the try to set up a combo like Handful of Ash+ Fire Cracker, then use Shadowfall, but while In the air use the Lazurite Ax, it does more posture and Vitality damage if you do it while in the air. Then blast them in the face with a flame vent with Living Force so they catch on fire. Then you can basically repeat the combo from there. It's hard for me because I always mess up the rotation of my tools and weapons but if you can do it right I think that combo would be very powerful against bosses with low posture.
Small correction: you can activate the upgraded versions of the mistraven for a certain window of time after taking damage by ANY source (status build up without any damage won't trigger mistraven), so any damage over time will continuously refresh this window, enabling the mistraven to be spammed. Even poison or burn caused by enemies or environment will do the same, it's just that contact medicine is more convenient because it's controlled and does little damage (and prevents other, more potent poisons to affect Wolf)

What I love about sekiro is it gives you the option to not get hit. As long as you deflect you will beat every enemy in this game. If you lose then it's your fault. It's not because the game is Op or the boss is a sponge. It's simply because you did not deflect and attack at the right time. Leaving it all on the player. It was so fun to play, i just defeated Gyoubu Oniwa. It took a lot of time trying to learn the pattern, i think i died 10-20 times fighting Gyoubu, and 30-40 times to chained ogre xd.
Giving away Kuro's Charm increases the amount of Skill XP you get from enemies. If you start a full new game with and without it, you can see how much faster you move along the skill trees without it.
No Kuro Charm is basically blocking with weapons in dark souls lol. Another challenge I discovered is using the mod for removing hud parts. And remove enemy hp/posture meter. Didn't realize how much harder that made it till I played again normally after a full run up to the end. I play no hud a lot on souls games, makes it very immersive.

No BS stamina bar keeping the player held back. No BS overpowered boss. It's all on the player and very few games give that to players
Except if the chained ogre does a 360 no look grab.
Or the giant annoying ass ape that wants to throw his shit at you
@@gh0stretr07 that “shit” is so easy to dodge, just sprint at him right when he goes up in the air and punish him when he comes down
@@gldn_xp4547 It is easy to dodge fairly simple even but sometimes the grab will still catch you by bullshit means like you will dodge 4 feet off to the right or left and it will literally pull you back in to it. Like the fuck?
“A lot of times we’d climb a tree and make the coon jump in amongst twenty dogs, but at least he had the option of whipping all those dogs and walk away if he wanted to. This was strictly left up to the coon.”- Jerry Clower
Bro is right game is a rhythm
At first I was like man I'm never gonna plat this game........then I started to see the patterns after few deaths and the game became much easier
Timestamps make the vid so much more enjoyable i just clicked a vid the same length and was disappointed from no timestamps so I left but this vid 👌
🙌
Started playing for the first time yesterday and just got to the giant money. #1 tip is deliberately attack, do not button mash. Once you slow down your attacks your ability to see the opponent’s moves goes up significantly.
i love fighting corrupted monk, the ost is fire
Bro...
Thanks for the final tip.
I needed that.
Valeu!
You are the very first, donating in comments. Much appreciated 🙏😌
6:02 nah bro u funny 😂 subbed 💯
I was searching for a game to cure my boredom and that's where i find this game, i was planning to download Elden ring but since my laptop is not strong enough for it, i chose this game. It was so fun to play, i just defeated Gyoubu Oniwa. It took a lot of time trying to learn the pattern, i think i died 10-20 times fighting Gyoubu, and 30-40 times to chained ogre xd.
Excellent work..very helpful...thanks ton
13:48 it actually does i noticed that genichiro uses grabs more often and deals more damage so it actually does affect bosses, i just noticed
The grabs are honestly just RNG and in general a move that he only uses when you’re far away from him and he’s running towards you
yea and he kept using it when i was actually close to him
Giving away Kuro's Charm increases the amount of Skill XP you get from enemies.
The first one is exactly how my brain clicked with the combat. I would memorize the attacks like a song.
6:04 why is nobody mentioning him looking at the gourd lady feet💀😭
Thank you so much for your appreciation, feet are life
@@Cainfoe facts😈😳
Replaying Sekiro rn helpful stuff here man thanks ! I was wondering why the hell I wasn’t getting the prompt for anti air deathblow against the shichimen warrior
Great Video!
A little tough to concentrate on what you’re saying with such hot jazz in the background!
That take me out to the ballgame was lit!
The mist raven thing actually happens any time you have damage over time on. That means ANY poison or being burned will cause it. This is best observed in the demon of hatred fight
Great tips! Thank you
wow kuros charm tip was sooooo good good ive been strugling for my life with the endboss in ng+
i started a new game…so i should not get the charm if i want a easier difficulty rite??
Great vid!
Playing to “Shame on a N****” by Wu Tang Clan is almost the perfect rhythm for most bosses. Plus it feels cool
bro can u tell me which mods did u used to get that whole skin like sword n everything
Thanks for this!
Great list 👍🏽
that Cainhurst helm is badass asf ( Idk if that is the helm, but looks a lot like it ). Big Bloodborne fan here btw
Playing this for the first time, having fun. Im at the part with the snake after tenzen
Sekiro is the best game I've ever played. Yes it's hard, but when you start getting used to the game, yoy will love every single thing about it.
Great vid
Much appreciated
chill and attention keeping video...very nice
Amazing guide, you rock... let me know of get mor of that tips heheheh
Restaurant tippytop Tips here
Nice Video! I have to add something though. If you are going into to this game after learning a dark souls type game, do not treat Sekiro as one. This and treating it like a rhythm game is what got me through my first playthrough.
Liked before the 5th tip. Just the first 4 are insanely helpful to any player
Thank you 🍻!!
🍻
i usually quit the video before it ends, but here i stayed just to see genichiro get his ass handed to him
I hate him
Man casually capping genichiro while giving free tips😂
Great tips
the mist raven tip was so good before this i only knew the contact medicine cures poison but nah
Thank you for leaving the last deathblow in the video.
6:05 LMAO! Unexpected bit of humour in the middle of a tips guide..... @Cainfoe waiting for Emma to send feet pics 😂
🗿💀😂
Deflecting is hard for me still bcz idk if this is just a me problem, but there's a almost 1 second delay from when I click block, so timing when I deflect is a little wanky
The prayer deserves a like
