I'm returning to college at age 60. Thank you for the brush-up!
Why at 60?
@@AzureKite191 Why not? With the way our world is right now people are having to go back to school to advance in their jobs just to make ends meet or they were not able to complete their degree because life happens. You are never too old to get an education.

Right!
How did u do?
Bro I’m watching this 10 minutes before the test
same g.. T minus 1 hr 30 mins for me
I have a tsi test tomorrow morning and I’m a senior in high school I’m so anxious and so scared that I’ll get frustrated. Math is my worst subject and with my accommodations they are going to have the computer read it to me but I think it’s distracting cause it’s making the words move and stuff. We only had a week to prepare I’ve failed all pre-assessments but I honestly didn’t really know what to do and the teacher said no calculators so I’m in trouble with that one…..
Don’t worry. Focus on the first 20 questions and put your all into it, since those matter the most. it’s mostly the same questions you just have to know how to solve them. Take notes and watch any video that’ll help right now. Practice practice practice. I did mine today and sadly I failed my first 20 but now looking back i see how i messed up and will take another one close to my graduation date. You got it
Edit: you have a second chance if you don’t get the first 20 but they’re 48 additional questions which is passing the first 20 is crucial but if not it’s okay !
@@Celinooo0 I ended up having to take those 48 questions and it SUCKED! I got a 911 which I don’t think is bad since I didn’t prepare AT ALL. Some kids got a 985 - 995 like dang I wish I was that smart as a sophomore. But I did my best. I was just disappointed I had 48 more questions.
@@AjTheDarkestNarrator don’t worry about them, the tsi is mostly on stuff sophomores are currently learning or have learned recently which is more handy for them. You got it the next time and you can always re do it till you pass

Any update???
I am 56, and I struggled as a freshman in high school with algebra. My teacher was not understanding and would bang her hands on my desk in frustration and ask me WHAT EXACTLY DONT YOU UNDERSTAND!!! Ever since algebra has always scared me. Well, I have decided once and for ALL I am going to conquer this fear & John with your help, I will be able to do just that! All of your videos are so informative and your teaching style is just what I NEEDED!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
I'm cramming cause I was told I would be exempt but I wasn't. Now I gotta take it real quick before orientation
I literally was told the same thing lol, I was STRESSING 😂

I don't understand the American math education system when they study for University entrance exams. This exam is extremely critical but it's more reading than math so it makes things much more confusing
I’m currently in 9th grade testing this and I am actually horrified. They said I need atleast an 950, please wish me luck!
how did u do ??
Howd you do?
You fked up right ?
you make it ?
I failed it senior year in high school at 949, 1 point away from passing. I'm in my freshmen year of college and now it's 350
I am taking the TSIA exam so I can just take one math course in college.
Great video. You talk very well with good voice. It is very pleasant to listen to you.
Thanks for this video... I'm one of the ones who are going back to school after a while away... H.S. 2006. So a bit rusty.
Same here!!! Taking this in two hours. Hope you did well on your test
@@Patrick44300 Yes, I passed!
same how did you prepare for English and math test thanks
I'm right there with you. I'm 42 and I have to take it before I start my online class in Computer Programming. I'm so nervous, I was never any good at Math back then so this will be interesting but I'm up for the challenge. I graduated back in 1999 so you know I'm 😵💫

Im returning after 15 years .... sigh math was never easy but im ready to try again
U got this 🫶🏼
What happens if I failed in high school what do college in texas do for me I don’t go to college?
I'm 38... did great in school, lost now... lol
I want to take the test in December. I haven't been in high school since 1992. What would you suggest as the best way to study and re-learn this material?
I’m doing my makeup while watching this and bc I have to take the TSI in 1 hour. for the first question I got 1 as an answer . ✨ no I didn’t study bc I’m just going to a community college.
And I was terrible in math.
lmaoo how did it go tho?
@@hungrypotato5085 I passed with 4 for both English (944) and Math (933) and I got a 5 for my writing. 😅 but I also took 5 hours taking it.
💯
@@scorpionj2633 can you tell me the things that I could study for it would help me allot
@@sinra3776 if you do struggle in math, I would say knowing/ learn how to convert fractions into decimals helps a lot vice versa.
other than that It’s simple Adding, subtracting, multiplying , and dividing.
It had a few word problems, middle school level word problems. Mostly Plugging in the numbers in a formula.
By formulas I mean the ones from the Texas Paper they will give out when you do the STAAR test. Memories them bc they actually help a lot and they don’t offer that sheet to you while taking the test (at least to me Idk if you are taking it in middle/high school , I took mine in the a college test room)
It’s basically all the STAAR test from elementary- 9th combined in one.
Hope that helps ❤️
This is wild, I remember bits and pieces.
edit: also had a college advisor, who recommend taking the TSI cold turkey after a 2 yr, gap year. Thoughts ?
All depends on the college you want to go to
No subtitles?
I have my TSI in a few hours grade 9
Im sitting outside the office to test watching it with like 10 min till
I take the test in 30 minutes

All you have to do is pass colleges don't care as long you don't fail
Ez for you to say
Dude you spend four minutes of a 9 minute video explaining what the TSI is and effectively going nowhere. This is why youtube needs a dislike button
@@anunknownperson4018 Dude, you didn't even make the video and that has got nothing to do with what I said
