Nice reaction! I think you will learn to love this version! Can't wait to see you do Geoff's latest, "Jack's Lament" from The Nightmare Before Christmas!
It's not often Geoff gets to take the lead but it had to be him for this. He's such a brilliant villain. :) I've seen it loads of times now, watch people react to it. And enjoy it evert time.
I just enjoy that last airstike from Geoff, going into the atmosphere before dropping further in a single line than most of us could even sing on our best day. It is a slight switchup, because you first think he will drop... but he goes up... and then up even more... and then finally the bass drop we all know him for.
J None has been promoted and transferred to Washington DC. He is now singing bass. So it could be Layne or J when that bass is added. Maybe fortunately for me, I have not seen the movie, not heard the song, so no expectations. I was mesmerized by it when it dropped on Patreon. The mood, the harmony, just everything caught me. It is absolutely brilliant!!
I'm pretty sure after so many years in the company of Geoff, Layne and J None are learning some of his techniques to mature their own low ranges. And it's refreshing to hear a reactor admit they may have a bias for an original version of a song. Very much enjoyed your reaction to this one. It's complicated with this song...the lyrics are horrifying but done so well musically.
Especially for your insights I was waiting. Thank you so much. And I have to admit, that I like your speaking voice as much, as Geoff's singing voice 😊
Layne was doing bass up until his percussion started then Geoff was double tracked. I love being in their Patreon to learn some of the little details and see the behind the scenes.
I used to be, mostly for the karaoke's lol. Not only to sing it myself but also to analyse it further, you could/can hear a lot of interesting little details with the main vocals out of the way.
@@CJayBass Yes, definitely! It’s so cool. I love that they offer so much to the people that support them. I wasn’t in the Patreon for a long time then realized I’m probably one of their biggest fans so it only made sense to do it lol
Great reaction! I do believe they double layered Geoff with the vocals. Although Layne did hit some impressive low notes as well. Either way, its a spectacular version of this song.
All VP baritones present in the same video: Layne was officially baritone before ge took over vocal percussion Tony Wakim as the guard(voice ovet by Eli) JNone and now Cesar. But technically both Geoff and Eli can sing that range too.😊
This is my first time viewing your channel. And honestly… I love it! Your editing of the video, your feedback, your bass sounds awesome, and your voice/accent is so cool. I’m 100% watching more after I finish this video. New sub acquired man
Layne nailed this arrangement. Geoff was absolutely insane on this song. I think this has become my favorite cover. Geoff went from F4 down to D1 at the end.
I had to listen to it about... 3 times? Before I became completely addicted to it, so I understand the cognitive dissonance. But this was legit so impressive.
I thought it was interesting in that the vocalists each had a part in Frollo's psyche. J None was asking for Maria to protect him, Eli is black - be mine or you will burn, Cesar blames God for making the devil so much stronger than a man. It is mesmerizing, evil and totally unforgettable.
That low note could have been Layne although J None could manage it too. When Geoff was doing the God have mercy on her, God have mercy on me, the background vocals were beautiful doing Kyrie Eleison (God have mercy). Just before the guard came in, did you catch Cesar and his air guitar w/ vocals? This is stunning, evil, mesmerizing and utterly unforgettable. Although Geoff has played monsters, none so wicked as this one.
@@CJayBass Same one moment I could be like mid-high baritone and then another moment I sound like corpse husband. That usually only happens at night (when my vocal chords are the most broken in and worn out) but with bass practice it’s happening more and more often just naturally
Hello there

Poor Tony Wakim they roped him to being the guard just because he happened to be there, and then Geoff called him an idiot. lol

J. None and Cesar having a mini-duet...THANK YOU LAYNE!
that line is so gorgeous!
@@rmdewberry2482It really is! And the poignant looks on their faces!

your attempt to hit Geoff's low notes at the end of the outro was good!😂

J None is now a bass vocalist with a Navy band - so - I am sure he is taking up some bass in VP as well.
Looks like G1 Geoff is back.🎉😊❤

Layne and Geoff swapped a little … “tell me Maria” … Layne takes the high line.
Layne is very capable of that, as is J None (now a bass in the US Navy)
You should check out Geoff version of Folsom prison blues. 😁
Great Reaction.
So after watching your reaction, I went and listened to the original again. Hands down Voiceplay version is better. Just my opinion. 😊
Could be Layne, J None is now a bass in the US Navy.

Be sure to catch Geoff's arpeggiated section.
Lol
I hope I didn't destroy anyone's ears Sorry No You're not 😅😅 Awesome job as usual 😊
You have a nice voice, are you a bass or baritone? I can’t tell
High bass/bass-baritone, usually speaking. Depends on the day and even the hour really lol.
