My dad was a band leader in the studio when I was born in 1964 & when they band learned my name was Tammy Kay, a band member mocked Twing & Tway with Tammy Kay.
Hi everyone, My name is Joe Macchiaverna and my father had a specialty spot ("Joe M and his Violins") each week on Sammy's TV show: "Sammy Kaye's Music From Manhattan on ABC" (1958-59). I appeared on the 1958 Christmas Special Show when I was 7 yrs. old to "Lead The Band". I would really appreciate copies of that TV shows if anyone might have them.
Ray Michaels was my beloved uncle who passed away in Sept. 1990. Ray Michaels was not his birth name, but he had it legally changed upon launching his music career. He resided in Brooklyn, New York.
Saw this very recently on a PBS special. It is from an Ed Sullivan Show and I believe the date was 1965. As to the girl singer, I cannot be sure who she is, but I have found some recordings where Ray Michaels did duets with someone named Shirly Ost, so perhaps that is who she is.

This band had some real hits,but sometimes a little too schamaltzy,especially with the use of the steel guitar.Obviously inspired by Lombardo,but no where near as good.
