After all this time you posted the water encounter! Thank you, I’ve been wanting to see it again forever. As the guy who was just ahead of you going into that mess, I still can’t figure out how the lead guy went in there no problem.
its really hard to overthink instinct while you're in a kart... Also you are already on the limit of your kart coming out of a corner mainly, so it is hard to continue turning
How do you crash before the corner I’m a go kart driver and I usually spin mid corner usually due to under steer, but when someone spins in front of me I usually get out of the way, some times these things happen
I really enjoyed this video-I must be sicker than I thought I was! A couple of those hits looked pretty hard-I hope the crash damage $$$ weren’t too awful!
It depends. You're not supposed to press them hard and you're also supposed to slowly put your foot in rather than hard press the brake. Generally speaking, it's not too hard to avoid spinning but when an accident happens ahead, it's quite common for people to slam the brakes and spin due to panic. You generally shouldn't go further than 2/3rds of the way from what I've heard
At Skip Barber, they would call the reactive spin-out a "sympathy spin". Usually happens when you target fixate on the vehicle ahead of you instead of the far side of the corner you are trying to negotiate. Hard to avoid because it's where your attention naturally wants to go.
That crash with the nose cone and rear bar happens way to often in my opinion they should ban the wide rear bar all together and go back to the old short ones
Hi i have a question , i want to get into karting but i dont where to start and how , do you know where to start from? Great vid btw im subscribing :))
I'd recommend starting in rental league races but either way go to your local track and see what classes they're running, buy a kart, drive it a lot and ask tons of questions! I made a video on this subject recently as well, check it out on my channel if you'd like. Good luck to you!!!
If you're in a rental kart, the tracks pays to fix them. If it's privately owned karts, everyone pays for their own damages even if you didn't cause the wreck.
I wonder when people will figure out that panic breaking is just gonna make things worse. Often it’s best to just get off throttle and try and steer the kart away. Also, why are there so many clips of you driving in a wall? We’re you distracted?
i just got my first podium in karting, here’s a breakdown of the race. it was my 3rd race and i practiced a ton for this track variation, i was able to get pole by 0.345 seconds faster. so in the heat race i was leading and on lap 5 a girl went around me going into turn 4 and she turned into me spinning both of us out (she is known for doing this) and for whatever reason they decided to black flag me, (the flag man told me he was in the wrong and apologized) but he couldn’t do anything so i had to start in the back of the grid with the girl that spun me. so at the start i went up the inside getting into 4th and the girl started catching me and we passed 4th. so i ended up fighting for 3rd the entire race, back and forth, and eventually on a high speed corner she didn’t break at all and bumped me, and slowing her down. i just ran away after that and got podium.
Tip: if you feel that its going to slide: release throttle and countersteer dramaticly. cuz most of the slides are caused by leaving the throttle open.

they probably turned their wheels very fast to break the momentum of their karts so they dont smash into someone else up ahead.
