League nights are literally the only night they are supposed to take things 100% seriously. And you get these guys who just showed up to do their first race ever in the league and ruin it for everyone.
I went to a track once with 11 friends. They had 24 cars and by the time we left i think 9 worked. Best go kart bumper cars race of my life!! I will remember until i die! Best staff ever!
The reason that you are slow lap-time wise: You appear to concentrate on attaining the ultimate top speed and holding onto the throttle until the last split second. That has you going very slow at corner exit and having to wait longer to apply power again. Try braking a little earlier, making especially the tightest corners smoother, and you'll drop time by beginning to accelerate earlier. Sideways or sliding at corner exit is a time killer.
:) that was my assessment too. I used to race the 2 stroke karts. I'm like you are entering too fast and it is killing your exit. all the counter steering is ticking off time. plus, by blowing the exit, you are losing the racing line for the next corner.
Especially the sliding. Sliding just a little at corner entry can be beneficial on some turns but sliding at corner exit close to wall is a big time lose.

Better to take the job too seriously than to be completely incompetent at the job, which is the problem we have with indoor kart racing in California. I used to build sick karts and race them at outdoor tracks and the level of competency and professionalism from the track staff is on a whole other level. I will never race K1 or any of these jank indoor kart places again. They are a nightmare.
Too be honest this happens more often than you think at rental tracks. I think people underestimate the difficulty and just can't take the ego hit when they are slower.
Yeah, It sucks when people don't have any racers etiquette but I also understand that these are regular people who don't know a single basic thing about motorsports

That sucks man. Over the 5 years of go-karting I’ve done, (started 11 now 16) I’ve always went to this place in Cali. There would be so many times younger drivers make us lose time and speed, spinning out in turns, but it wasn’t as bad as one time where somebody filed a lawsuit to the place I went to because their phone dropped and someone crushed it. They clearly stated in the rules to put all loose items in a small locker we have near the helmets. Another time, someone got pissed at me because I accidentally pushed him. I got rammed from behind, we were in a pile up after some kid crashed into their dad, and this guy literally got out of his car and punched me on the helmet. He was banned. I was younger at the time, but i would always be top 1000 in the US.
As a dirt racer who has gotten the blue flag before, its more for safety. When you have cars gaining on you fast, race officals will tell you before a race even starts that if you get that flag, hold your line, leaders will be coming by you.
Funny how all the know it alls and “kart track employees” sick of people not moving over know absolutely nothing. Your comment buried like a hundred deep is the first one to actually say what the flag is for. Anyone who has ever been in the front of a race would understand this…. Blue flag with the orange diagonal means hold your current line. Why would a leader know that? Because it really sucks to DNF when the lapped car switches lanes into you trying to “get out of the way”.

Nice driving! I'm old Rotax light, shifter kart racer from way back. I use to lean opposite to corner, in the Rotax, gives outside tyre's better grip. Admittedly never tried these karts so could be different? 🤘
My cousin use to race 125s all over the country... he had Italian frames that were about 5k a pop back in the mid 90s ... we raced dirt circle tracks with alcohol brigs ... back when carting was huge ... I miss the Friday night gatherings ... all my dad's friends ran the unlimited class ... I always ran pits for them it was a blast
Last time I went go karting on an actual track, it was an outdoor track, and it was designed to look like formula 1. There was one turn that if you did it just right you didn’t even have to slow down for it if you took it wide enough you just slightly slowdown and gun it out of the turn,

As many as 10+ classes to fit vehicles, from pure stock to UTVs. Miatas to Corvettes, PU trucks to Teslas.
Where IS this? We got an E-cart track up here in Seattle...K2 I think its called, and haven't been yet. Mostly the indoor cart tracks are WAY too short and narrow af... which basically means its just a freight train and passing is next to impossible. This track looks fun af

Ah yes the muscle head ! Had a guy who was not happy with being lapped numerous times . After session said to him if we step out side your kicking my ass but you don't stand a chance racing me ! Offered a hand shake and told him he did make it for me ! He is just glaring at me 😮 Go out for a smoke and he comes out . He comes up to me and says sorry . I don't like to lose . No problem I have a weight advantage by about 40 lbs and a few thousand laps done already !!
Get a skateboard. Theyll start flooding in. If they somehow dont find you in the wild, just go to a Skatepark. There are always swarms of them dropping off their scooter kids

Gotta ask, on electric go-karts, the throttle response is pretty much instant. So, if you have to slow down for a turn... Do you late brake and accelerate through the turn or tap the brakes half way through or just skid the front tires? OR? From my perspective you seem to come out of the corners too hot, turn the wheel to skid/slow down and then accelerate on the back side of the turn. Seems to be a tad slower than if you late apexed the turn.... Of course the hard part is not slowing down too much.... Watch your video. List to the motor sound. You are slowest exiting the turn..... Doesn't seem optimal. Yeah, watched some of the other videos. You are hitting the apex a little early. At least with gasoline powered - you brake in the straight line.... start your turn and effectively accelerate through the turn. Your lowest speed is just about where you turn the wheel ( a little after that, you need the weight on the front tires to turn in). Once the car starts turning, you roll back into the throttle and your accelerating through the turns. Note the brake lights on some of the faster drivers (the ones you cannot catch) they are braking before they turn in! Note, you cannot do this when someone is trying to pass you. Basically drive the line you drive when someone is trying to pass you so you block the inside. There is a reason why defensive driving is slower.... If you get caught by surprise and passed, your late apex, on a big turn, will allow a chance to undercut his driving line on the exit. Beaware you are going to come up on him as he apexes the corner and most likely will not be able to go full speed through the turn.... that's racing....

I went to this track once maybe in like 2015 just to check on prices. I ended up watching a few of the sessions in that hairpin to watch everyone crash. As a 10 year old or however old I was, I thought that was almost as fun as driving the karts themselves. I’ve since moved away and moved on with my life but I still wish I could race there 😢.

Also can mean your slow for trying to block too much aswell, not that big of a deal, specially in time based races.

Gotta ask, on electric go-karts, the throttle response is pretty much instant. So, if you have to slow down for a turn... Do you late brake and accelerate through the turn or tap the brakes half way through or just skid the front tires? OR?
From my perspective you seem to come out of the corners too hot, turn the wheel to skid/slow down and then accelerate on the back side of the turn. Seems to be a tad slower than if you late apexed the turn.... Of course the hard part is not slowing down too much....
Watch your video. List to the motor sound. You are slowest exiting the turn..... Doesn't seem optimal.
Yeah, watched some of the other videos. You are hitting the apex a little early.
At least with gasoline powered - you brake in the straight line.... start your turn and effectively accelerate through the turn. Your lowest speed is just about where you turn the wheel ( a little after that, you need the weight on the front tires to turn in). Once the car starts turning, you roll back into the throttle and your accelerating through the turns.
Note the brake lights on some of the faster drivers (the ones you cannot catch) they are braking before they turn in!
Note, you cannot do this when someone is trying to pass you. Basically drive the line you drive when someone is trying to pass you so you block the inside. There is a reason why defensive driving is slower.... If you get caught by surprise and passed, your late apex, on a big turn, will allow a chance to undercut his driving line on the exit. Beaware you are going to come up on him as he apexes the corner and most likely will not be able to go full speed through the turn.... that's racing....
@@confuse3671 your right, my apexing is too aggressive and I end up throwing the cart too much. I’ve been working on smooth transitions since this video was posted.
I’m pushing to hard and need to realize that slow is faster in some situations
I went to this track once maybe in like 2015 just to check on prices. I ended up watching a few of the sessions in that hairpin to watch everyone crash. As a 10 year old or however old I was, I thought that was almost as fun as driving the karts themselves. I’ve since moved away and moved on with my life but I still wish I could race there 😢.

Hey dude what kinda gloves are those I do karting also and I need new gloves what are ur gloves or what are glove u would recommend me?
The gloves are recequip 3.5/5 drag racing gloves and helmet is Arai Regent-X
Get -273 just make sure they are loose so the print doesn’t crack. Too tight the logo can crack
