Hardcore gamers will hate it since it will not compare to playing from a PS5 but people like myself, married, not a lot of time, sharing the couch with my wife, I’m gonna love it. I love the portal ngl I love all handheld gaming consoles that’s probably the biggest failure in the portal it can’t really connect to other WiFi’s but everything is so fire nice videos too btw 👌🏿
It can connect to other wifis! I play from my work office and on my phone's hotspot. I travel a ton for work and love bringing my portal with me and connect to hotel wifi all the time. Love it a ton. Just wanted to share😁
Been amazing at home so far. I love that I can sit out on my deck and enjoy it and my garden while gaming, too. Very interested to test it on my vacation in a few weeks over 2k miles from my home. They did the recent update so you can connect to public wifi now, but in many instances those will suck, so just tether your phone.
Excellent video - the only reason I caved in and got an Xbox Series S to travel with and easily hooks up to hotel TVs - PlayStation 5 is always my preferred and if I was driving the new digital could possibly work but the Carbon Black S 5 is my go to and worth it IMO.
I haven’t tested mine away from home but its pretty solid connected locally. I only got one cause I dont wanna plug up my tv to the ps5 😅 I love my PlayStation U
Works well with a travel router...You need one of these to tap into hotel (etc) wifi and "get around" all the sign in nonsense to then connect to your PS5 back home...There's some good Reddits about how to do this (and even peeps doing it when traveling overseas using two travel routers so it "looks" like you are still in the US). Happy gaming.
I travel all over for work and hated calling hotel services to connect my ps5 to WiFi. Got a cheap router and solved the issue. Works in all Hilton, ihg, and marriott hotels.. I may buy the portal to see how it works leaving ps5 at home.
How is your PS5 connected to the internet and what kind of internet do you have at home? I have standard cable internet at home, and I found connecting my PS5 up directly to an ethernet cable made a huuuge difference in how smoothly the games ran as opposed to WiFi.

not even go lie the ps portal is like buying a $200 controller with all them special features n mods to it only difference you got a screen and features. I bought one recently i like it t enough to keep it around cant wait till someone mod it
I hate the fact that you have to have a disk in the PlayStation in order to play games,,, you can’t just play all your game.. the disk must be in there.. if your away from home, you can only play one game?? How do you play other games on it?
Just use Bluetooth tethering, it connects your phone to the WiFi, and shares it to the portal. That way you can bypass web browser.

How do you play without your ps5? I got mine yesterday and it’s not letting me play even when my ps5 in rest mode

Just returned it. I liked it but lack of Bluetooth and I could use my fold 5 for the same thing

There’s no way. You have the PS5 plugged in the AirBnB bc I have mine plugged in, rest mode, and I’m only 6 minutes away and I can’t connect!
