There is a filter at the base of it that collects food that is unable to be flushed down, but if not they’re flushed into our sink along with the waste water, so our sink drainer collect them too!

Hey Melissa! We still love it! We find it most beneficial when we have guest over, load up 8 or so plates and utensils and then turn it on!! Really fuss free, don’t need to wash and your guest don’t need to feel paiseh!
Hi Rina, we’ve used it to wash pots before and other items that are dishwasher safe/friendly! For containers or items that do not specifically state that it can be washed by dishwasher, we don’t put it in and wash it manually ☺️

We’ve placed the water outlet tube to empty directly to the sink! So not much maintenance required if that’s what you’re wondering :)
