The Army Ranger Wing currently deployed in Mali with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) United Nations.
@Lennon Swan Music A small contingent of Military Police and Bomb disposal technicians were part of ISAF for like 3-4 tours. Like 6-10 soldiers each rotation.
Thanks for the support but If I make the course, I’ll probably just tell everyone that I’m in the rangers, I can’t keep my mouth shut so I’ll probably join as a cadet or nco
@@cpldalton5966 well I'm sure when your older you'll be able to keep a secret such as your profession. Might also recommend building a bodyweight workout such as push ups.
Not so much SAS but the US has a big part in funding and training but I also know if you point to a spot on the Irish map they can tell you what terrain is in that location they are trained fighters but also a big part of getting in is academic certs and intelligence

The L85 has never been a standard issue weapon for the Irish Defence Forces. The standard issue rifle is the Steyr AUG(Calibre 5.56mm), with the FN FAL being used as a Designated Marksman's Rifle(7.62 x 51mm). The ARW standard is the AUG A3, and the H&K 416/417 modular system. However, I am quite certain that the ARW have several examples of the L85 in stock, for foreign weapons familiarisation training. It never had a good reputation, which is why the Irish Defence Forces never adopted it. Neither did Britain's SAS or SBS, by the way...
Its more cost effective to give the rangers multicam uniforms. As for the regulars who served in chad, they used their green DPM uniforms because the government wouldn't fund the use of desert DPMS. I've only ever seen Irish troops using the desert DPMS in Afghanistan. The government just has a 'make do' attitude towards the defence forces in general....its a pity.

Whoever is incharge of the making videos is killing it rn very impressed with the videos about the rangers would love to see more
Love to see more footage like this
I agree
The ARW are badass they're was o competition between different special forces and they came third beating places like Norway and Germany.

Brilliant
What was the mission? Securing that tree?

On point!
Absolutely epic and did they retrieve lica smith
They're not in Mali for that. A seperate group has gone to Syria for an "advisory role"
Irish rangers wear multicam ) this is very good
Jason . Donoghue nope they own it. The rangers are allowed use off the shelf kit, if they prefer using it.

DUKE lORD there is an irish desert camo but it was only issued in small numbers to people who went to Afghanistan and other small deployments

I’d say the fitness test for getting into that would be insane

May I ask is the ranger wing just joined or are you selected after basic training if you could please respond
It's like we have an army but then we have the army ranger wing the best soldiers in the army there's just elite
@ben power thank
They run a selection course.. You can pass selection and still not be picked to enter its ranks.
You eed to be at least a 3* pvt. To attempt selection
They pick the best from all branches of the D.F. and then you go through more training and then whos knows

Cut that shit out, with enough perseverance anyone can do anything.

Does any ARW use thee L85 assault rifle at all? milsim related
