Hi Kala! Thanks for your videos and being so helpful! I remember you saying that you got a big wholesale order and had to buy more molds. When you were starting out with your molds for your cement jars, how many molds did you buy to start with? And what was your workflow like? Making two at a time, waiting and then making more…? When you were testing with the cement vessels, did you use the same vessel multiple times to test, or you’d just make a new candle? I ask just to know if the cement would hold up with multiple candle lives. :) What are your favorite colors, or what colors do you have, for powder color? Thanks again! Love your channel.

I usually made my Etsy orders once they were ordered. For example one of my marbled ovals sold well so I started to make more of that container ahead of time - a couple a day. For the wholesale I did end up buying 7 cylinder molds because I had 75 to make. I ended up making a batch every morning and night and then pouring them all at once. For testing I recommend only using the container once. I haven't reused a container for a candle - I have reused as a planter. I hope that helps! 😊

Polyacrylic isn’t recommended to seal concrete according to the manufacturer. Just fyi. Also, you need to wait until the concrete cures b4 sealing. The round molds come off easier if you cut the lip off the bottom.
Thanks for all your feedback :) I use earth safe sealer now if you watch any of my videos that is updated. I have heard people say this before as well what I do is I flip it upside down and wiggle the plastic piece off by wiggling each side and then the plastic piece eventually will come off and you can take the silicone mold off. I hope that helps thanks for watching!
The manufacturer hasn't tested polycrylic on concrete so that is why they can't recommend it for that. Also I do say in my video to allow the concrete to "cure" before sealing so I do agree with you there 👍 I've never had an issue demolding my round mold but that's a great tip! Thanks for your comment!
@@WizeOwlCandles Sorry, I just found your channel. I’ll look for newer videos 😊
No worries at all! Thank you for asking so I could direct you :)
Please list the cylinder mold used. The one you listed is too small.
That is the one I have :)
Thank you very much. 😍
Absolutely!
Do you lubricate silicone molds with oil? Concrete does not stick?
I do not. I tried once and it made little holes in my Concrete. My Concrete doesn't stick at all. Thanks for watching!
How much acrylic paint do you use for your solution?
I usually eyeball it. With my pigments I will use a measuring spoon :)
How do you ship candles in the summer heat?
I use ice packs. Here is a video ua-cam.com/video/nXoNUxRPRHA/v-deo.html
Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOwlCandles Thank you so much. I’ve seen others use these but wasn’t sure how well it would work over several days. Thanks for testing it out!
Absolutely! They work great
Is it necessary to seal the outside of the jar?
It isn't absolutely necessary:)
What u used to seal the jar?
Earth safe sealer:)
What type of wax you use
Golden Wax 464
Thank you for your videos! Couple questions - What size cups are you using the larger solo's or smaller. Do you cure your concrete for any amount of time before applying sealer? How long do you let the sealer cure before pouring wax in?
Hi Bridget! Thanks for watching :) Im sorry I forgot to mention this! They are 16 oz. cups - I let my concrete set for about 30 minutes to an hour to dry up before applying sealer. I let them set after sealing for about 12 - 24 hours before pouring wax. I hope this helps!
@@WizeOwlCandles what kind of concrete do you use to make the oval vessel
Using 464 soy wax do you cure them for 2 weeks before you burn them?
Hi! I personally have mine cure for 3-4 days minimum. By the time a customer usually receives the candle it's past a week. I always get compliments on the cold and hot throw :) I hope this helps!
@@WizeOwlCandles when you first started testing then for yourself how long would you cure them for?
@@karlacastillo2164 I have used different soy waxes in the past, I've been making candles for 7 years now. But I have tested this specific wax for up to one and a half week cure time and same results for me personally of a few days curing with hot and cold throw :) hope that helps!
@@WizeOwlCandles awesome, a lot of things online say so many different things and people are very adamant about curing soy for 2 weeks and I wanted to get some different insight
@@karlacastillo2164 I always say do your own testing.♥️ 2 weeks is definitely a good start point. I always follow the recommended time or steps for anything then change it to what works best for me :)
Do u have measurements?
Do you mix the sand with the cement?
Cement all is premixed :)
Can't find the color pigment powder
Www.directcolors.com and search for Concrete pigment :)

Hello dear, what sealer do you use?
Hi! I use Polycrylic :) thanks for watching!
Thank you
You're welcome!
How to seal the concrete planter?
I use a water based sealant on the inside and out. Two coats on the inside

What you use as concealer
Are you asking for the sealer? I would recommend earth safe :)

So it’s 3 cups of cement to one cup of water?
Basically yes :)
Thank you! My mold is stuck to the plastic oval liner, how to you get that out :(
@@missbudgetfinds I flip it upside down and then wiggle each side until the plastic part falls off. I hope that helps!
Hmmm, they say u shouldn’t use polycrylic with anything u are burning
Hi! I personally have tested this sealer and have used it on hundreds of candles with no issue. It is made for wood however I've used this on my concrete and it works beautifully. I also use soy wax that has a lower melting temp so it doesn't get too hot.
Whatever sealer you choose make sure you do your own testing:)
Dang this girl is 🔥

Hello, what product do you use to protect the jars and that it is not dangerous for the candles.
Thank you
Hi! I seal with Polycrylic :) thanks for watching!
I understand that this video is 2 years old, I hope you have found a more sustainable way to mix your cement, like a silicone bowl or other reusable container.
Hi! Thank you for watching, yes I now use silicone mixing bowls :)
I tried everything and only 1 out of 2 bx of cement came out right. I keep getting tiny holes in my vessels 😭😭😭
I would suggest tapping the mold longer after pouring, pouring slower, and Mayne try with less water :) those all seem to help with bubbles
@@WizeOwlCandles I did it! I did it!!! OMG !! I literally cried.......finally I got it. This means so much to me. Thank you so much. 🥰.......it came out beautiful now.
Shipping them must cost a fortune
It actually doesn't. I use priority flat rate :) it costs the same to ship these as my other tins and glass I used to do
19:20 You need to do math while making candles. I'm out.
Lol yes math is included
I saw in description box titanium oxide, when did you use it? What is it used for
