Just stop paying it. You're under no legal obligation to even pay it anyway. I haven't paid it for years, i keep asking them for the contract I supposedly signed and my legal obligation to pay. They never reply, all they do is hire a room within the magistrates court and then send out a fake summons/liability order (liability orders ceased in 2003) then it gets passed to an enforcement agent, they cant do anything so then it goes back to the council. The amount of times i've even rang up the magistrates court to ask if i have a court summons in my name and they always tell me i don't have one. Its all a complete scam. More and more people are stating to wake up. LOOSE THE FEAR!!!!
Please ignore this advice it is wholly inaccurate and false. The council will just do an attachment to your benefits or earnings, or in some circumstances apply it to your property if you own it. You cannot evade it.
council tax should be scrapped it's not fit for purpose and the services charged for does not justify £1000 per year it's not grounded in reality anymore get that in your heads nobody is paying this tax anymore
Council tax is not about services is about giving the MPS that run the council the power to punish the most vulnerable in society and get away with it that's why they got rid of legal aid. What's the punishment for not delivering a service.

We all need to investigate our local councils, and try to understand how the game is played out. Once apon a time local councils, were public bodies with a town clerk who you could write to and complain. My own council THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HAVERING, created by an act of parliament in 1965. Joined two public bodies together. Romford and Hornchurch district councils. This new corporate company has a chief executive, a 151 finance officer plus directors. These people are responsible for working out the budget for the 54 elected councillors who sit in Romford town hall. Many so called councils, are hamstrung by their private company who call the shots. In other words, when their piece of the corporate pie has been eaten they won't receive any more money. (PS, this was not helpful to the residents of our borough, when the conservative chairman had spent £40K of our money over three years on tea and biscuits. A dirty deed or what?) Kent county council spent £125 quid.
Local councils are private "for profit organisations" anybody can go onto Companies House and really see who they are paying their hard earned money to! They are all on their and they are privately owned by a handful of directors! Wtaf!
If you think things are bad, look at the SNP Executive in Scotland its got that bad that Westminster is giving money directly to local councils and by passing the SNP one of their former Executive's has been charged with Embezzlement in Scotland, I hope Sturgeon appears before a Westminster committee. She already missed one request to appear at a Westminster committee.

Vital facts are being ignored here i.e. - the actual funding path to Council Tax. ALL of our C Tax payments are paid directly to the central govt's Consolidated Fund, which is then [partially] recycled back to local authorities to fund their duties & liabilities. Outrageously, the Consolidated Fund also provides for arms & military resources to support foreign wars which many thousands of innocent adults & children continue to be slaughtered & maimed, these are NOT causes which council tax payers would EVER support. Another aspect of council tax which is finally being revealed to the public, is that there's NO OBLIGATION upon householders to pay council tax. Local councils have been acting fraudulently [in the long-term] by issuing liability orders having no legality whatsoever, [masquerading as legal courts themselves], & subsequently employing 'bully boys' [wrongfully called bailiffs] to unlawfully extract their financial demands from the poorly-informed public. This whole issue has been a massive scam for decades. I fully believe that the whole truth of this [corporate conspiratorial extortion] will finally be exposed in full clarity during this year, bringing this fraudulent system down.
