Mike, when stuck in the "ruts" of snow driving, stay out of the paths of other cars, aim for the new untouched snow, better traction, even in the AMG. . Always admired your language ability, speaking your non native language so well. Keep working.

Snow tires make a huge difference, even when driving in such a small amount of snow. AWD can get you going in the snow, but does nothing to help you stop. About the first thing I do when I get a new car is go out and get a second set of wheels to put dedicated snow tire on. Then again, here in Canada, we get enough snow that we can't just stay home when it snows because we'd never go anywhere.
Anyways, hope everything works out and keep up the videos!

We don’t have a snow problem in south Florida but we have plenty of terrible drivers. All I can say is something my psychologist told me that helps tremendously is when you start getting angry, don’t say anything and remain silent. The more you talk and cuss, the more angry you become. Works miracles for me!
Maybe you could get winter tires for your trip to be safe 🙏

I lived in Vermont for 6 months from November to April, now i am back in Florida and i don't have to change my tires according to the seasons and temperatures, but come on guys , snow or not from Georgia state and up you know you gotta change to winter tires, anything happens and this video is a proof of that. And Mike you are used to driving in Sweden in those conditions i bet so you took that like a champ, nice work, cool video.

So dangerous, I had an S55 AMG back in the day with those Dunlop SP9000s and that was deadly in the winter, bought a different set of wheels with all season tires immediately after my first experience with them in the snow. Snow in Pennsylvania is awful, one year I was in my SUV, driving with my mother and we got caught in a snowstorm out near Penn State and had to sleep in the car at a rest area. I was driving on the highway and actually had to turn my headlights off because the snow was reflecting off the headlights and blinding me, that was crazy.

I remember a snow storm 5-6 years ago in Massachusetts where the same thing happened to me. I was driving my 2012 Mustang GT with a staggered summer tire set-up. I didn't check the weather for a few days and found my self driving, if you can call it that, home in 2-3 inches of slop. It was by far the must frustrating/scary driving experience of my life. All you can do is drive slow and hope that you can get enough traction to make it home. well done man! its not easy.

If you travel through Tennessee in January your worst luck would be around the TN/VA line on I-81 or the TN/KY line on I-75 or I-65. Those are kind of notorious for getting shut down due to winter storms, especially I-81.
Once you’re south of Morristown in East TN or from Nashville and south in Middle TN, then you’re pretty much in the clear.
Only other places you’d struggle around here are if you’re trying to go into Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg or across the Smokies on I-40 into western North Carolina.

The difference was I was 90 miles from home and had to travel North into even colder and worsening conditions. Needless to say, it was the last time I ever endured that (I went to Continental Blizzaks for winter tires and started installing them in early November rather than chance it again). Also since then I've been fortunate enough to add winter cars to my garage Ml55, and later on ML63 etc. Problem solved.

Hiya Mike , don’t be to hard on yourself regarding drivers in the snow , Like yourself I have a bmw e60 v10 with 385 s on the back and got caught out a few times in shitty weather .

You're not alone on the getting frustrated while driving. I'm a truck driver. Idiots on the road are my only frustration. It's been worse post quarantine. Common sense is no longer common.

I'd look into set of 4 high performance winter tires for your MB. A rear wheel drive car with so much power and summer tires are a recipe for an accident in winter conditions should you encounter them on your upcoming trip.

Lmao, Mike I just sold my Silverado crew cab LTZ Z71 and bought a Genesis G90 Ultimate V8 AWD and this snow was crazy. I was caught off guard and was nervous as hell like you. When i hady Camaro I would blow red lights and stop signs in the winter ,blowing my horn and flashing my lights . That Suburban going up Potamac ave was crazy. That hill is steep. Its a burgh thing

I can feel your overall frustration. More than you can say. You probably try to push it away and not dealing with it enough, but it's always there. New life, new situations... what will the future bring? Besides that there is now so much competition with car vlogs... and everyone is always bigger, faster, more expensive.... BAM BAM BAM. I totally understand that this add pressure too. You are very private in your videos, but the real life happens when you turn off the cam. I hope you'll find happiness again... and soon.
The link to your private channel is not working 🙂

Summer tires are extremely dangerous in not only snow, but cold weather in general. The rubber compound is not suitable for the cold and loses all traction. You need to throw some winter or all season shoes on the S65. I think the S stands for stuck. Good luck, Mike. I’m in Michigan and we have zero snow, in fact we got 1 1/2” of rain yesterday and 43°. We’ve had no measurable snow and I’m fine with it.

My son and I would be laughing so hard if we saw that fancy car sliding all over the road here in Denver, while driving our cheap Toyota or Honda. Glad you made it back safe.

c'mon Mike...they've been telling us for days that the snow was coming.....!!! But glad you made it. Rear wheel MBs and those soft tires are not good at all on snow.
