Thoroughly impressed with this track and video, certainly taking things to a new level!! Really hits the childhood nostalgia feels! My longtime favorite is that track "Did I Flounder?" with the Tears for Fears 80s/90s vibe, also great emotion!

It's a fantastic rehash, but it's not authentic. From the "VHS" filter switch in the beginning (why not do a proper VHS transfer), to the unnatural way that the vocals sit too far back in the mix (pop singers of the 90s were almost always pushed to the front of the mix, they were the commodity after all), it's all a good facsimile, but it's just that. There are too many nuances to any era that are impossible to authentically replicate.
I showed this to my mom last night and she legitimately tried to convince both me and herself that she grew up listening to your music. If that isn't a sign you're nailing your aesthetic idk what is!

George's uncanny ability to channel turn of the century nostalgia will always bring me back, no matter how long it's been since I've listened to his music or how long since his last album. Really a visionary artist and doesn't get the credit he deserves for his influence.
Helps to actually live through the time period. alot of vaporwave artists were posers born after 98 pretending. not that its a bad thing but how can you be nostalgic for a time you weren't apart of? its not nostalgia at that point, its make believe.
Damn, alot of music videos fail at the 90s vibe, but this feels so much more authentic. The aesethetics, the cinematography, editing. This nails early 90s euro-pop just like the song itself.
I was in Cabo with my wife when this track came out. 26 happy years later and this sound is still cemented in our memory. George always brings lovers together and is the reason I’m a lifelong fan. I hope the band can work out their differences and get back together for one last tour!

Love that he addresses themes of regret and coming to terms with those feelings. I’m only 26 but I’m really beginning to reflect on how I’ve wasted alot of my twenties. George Clanton has been the soundtrack to my life since highschool and holds a special place in my heart
this song is like the perfect bridge between late 80s madchester and early 00s pop, with everything in between sprinkled in. the music video looks like it was pulled straight from the middle of the 90s. love the effects, especially the tinting.
This is your best work yet, George. I’m 36 and this honestly feels authentic to my childhood growing up in Europe. This track is not a pastiche, nor a simulacra, it feels real. Not sure how you did it, but fair play to you.
I think the key is simply being an actual fan of the style of music. The reason a lot of throw back songs can feel inauthentic is because the artist just wants a quick copy. "Oooh i want to make a Nirvana sounding song" is gonna come out different than a huge fan of the grunge scene wanting to make grunge revival for example.
the 2010s have been such a unique and vibrant time in so many ways, positive and negative, but always vibrant. We really are in our summer of 89, it's been fucking crazy, I think we're watching that decade finally end...
