    Lebron was a beast and led the way on both ends. Austin was clutch and others like Max, Rui, Dalton, etc. stepped up without AD. Great win for the Lakeshow 💛💜

    AR is quietly becoming huge…. His consistency and attitude is just willing the lakers to wins…. And with other stars there it’s easy not to notice. While he’s not a AD, Cam or even a Max… he is becoming a good defender too. With ALL players making improvements…. Hats off to JJ as he’s definitely got them heading in a good direction 💪🏽

      They can’t let Austin run the point and be a playmaker. He’s a score so let him score because he’s not that good of a passer had bad turnovers and let the Warriors back in the game because of his decision-making down the stretch, but his offensive production made up for that is why we need trades at the deadline, so it covers up his flaws and let him thrive by being the fourth best player and then the Lakers are definitely contenders because if he’s your fourth best player, that’s a top end luxury

    There’s always numerous complaints about LeBron being a “ball hog” despite his impressive assist average, high adaptability, and universally recognized ability to read the court and find open teammates. So, if LeBron is still a ball hog, why haven’t I seen a single comment about AR’s boneheaded plays, ignoring open teammates and playing hero ball? Not a single comment! I sense a Knecht-like crowning frenzy coming for AR. Real Laker fans are wacky.

      You guys are podcasters and can't say this but I can. Christmas Day games are watched by millions which makes billions for the NBA. The Christmas day game was scripted Why? To save ratings especially with competition from the NFL. ADs been falling all season. Coincidentally he rolls his ankles and has to sit out this very important game.Theres no DLO who's a much better ball handler than Reeves. Had AD played he probably would have gotten his usual 40 ,since the Warriors don't have a for real big.Drammond and Looney can't hold AD so this could have been a blowout on the Lakers part. Now the games more competitive with LeBron vs Steph and it also puts the spotlight on their historical battles.I told my son watch this 4th qtr comeback with 3 mins left the game will be tied and possibly going into overtime,then Reeves screws it up by going to the basket instead of shooting that three.The results were on Curry's face. To add to my theory AD will be back playing Saturday against Sacramento unless the league calls to make him sit out another game to cover their scam.Watch for other so called injured league players to miraculously make a comeback after the all Star game. Hey!! It works with professional wrestling. It's only entertainment. Jmo

    Rui has limitations in their glaring. He gave Steph Curry 12 points on threes because he soft covers then he drops he never commits to the ball to double and then he leave stuff wide open because he can’t read them that well I mean all night long Steph Curry and Steve Kerr read that. Lots of room for improvement but they all did some good things especially with 80 gone. Great job guys.

    The Lakers gotta quit running Austin at the point he let the Warriors back in the game from the turnovers and bad decision-making, but he offsets that by his offensive production so it’s a steel mate maybe even in the favor of him by a point like last night he’s better off ball The Lakers need a point guard trade DLO and grab another big. There’s no problem. I explained later in the show what I meant by “for now.” Given LeBron’s age/mileage, it can’t be considered a given that he can maintain this level of activity on both ends. Anybody being honest about the situation knows that. But that doesn’t take away from how great he was during this game and recent stretch, both of which I praised a lot, very enthusiastically and sincerely, throughout this show. I think that’s fair, and there’s no more to read into than that. Appreciate you watching. AK

    Good win but the inevitable is still there. Like many have said privately and publicly, youre not winning a championship with reaves as your 3rd best player. The simple fix to the D issue is to surround him with guys who can play D. Kobe had Artest, etc. MJ had Pip, Horace, Rodman. Bird had DJ, Parish and McHale. Great organizations get players that complement what their stars strengths and weaknesses are.

    • @LockedOnLakers
      @LockedOnLakers  5 годин тому +1

      @@rodneyjohnson5457Absolutely. Late stage Kobe (for those purposes, the last few seasons before the Achilles tear) had not just Artest, but Bynum, Odom, Ariza, Barnes, Steve Blake, among others, as part of the defensive structure around him. Even Pau Gasol became, IMO, an underrated defender during his time in L.A. LeBron doesn’t have nearly the same level of infrastructure now. AD is better than all the names I listed (Artest was past peak form when he was here), but beyond Davis, there’s nobody at the level of the other guys. That both makes it harder for LeBron, but also increases the need for him to raise his level to a certain baseline. It’s a tough ask, but it’s still the ask. It is what it is. Im not sure you can have a honest conversation about him on the defensive end if you ate only talking about help defense; to my knowledge he is not being out played by his individual match-ups and one of the points you made was that AD is literally the only "big" the lakers have to play ; not about brons guy cooking him . I would say he holds up well on the one on one front but asking him to fly around on help defense might be asking a bit much especially if the main issue is geeting a big to play ALONGSIDE AD not a back up..yes that you put bron back to a sf and if he is getting cooked then ...well you can say he you are a liability on defense because he is losing his individual match-ups and is bad on help defense...but until that happens bron being a C+ - B+ defender is excellent for a 40yr old that can still give you 30+ when needed
