As a longtime Patriots fan who saw the depths of the 80's-90's and the heights of Brady/Belichick, I see so many comparisons between what Reid and Mahomes have now built at KC and the old Pats dynasty. There seems to be COMPLETRE buy-in to the philosophy that 17 regular season games are just building blocks for the REAL season, the playoffs. Of course you have to take care of business, win games, win the division, try and get home field for the playoffs etc etc. But the process takes precedence. And the process is all about peaking in January. Fantastic stuff and great to watch. Some sports fans hate dynasties. I love them. I find them fascinating. Dynastic teams develop such incredible discipline and devotion to winning above all else.
Patrick Mahomes has a passer rating of 105.8 with 5,135 yards, 41 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 18 games in the playoffs in his career. His playoff career is a regular season MVP resume
His defense has carried them all year. Still haven’t scored 30 points in any game this year. Also haven’t had to play any of the best teams from the NFC. And lost to the one other legitimate Super Bowl contender in their own conference
That's a little excessive. Especially the 10 miles part. Pat has really benefitted from a top-tier system and coaching staff, more so this year than ever before. KC defense has also kept the team in the many close games they've been in this season. Pat is a Hall of Fame QB... but he's not head and shoulders better than everyone else. That's the Kool-Aid talking.
IM FROM BUFFALO AND I REMEMBER.........New England had gotten more mature and experienced after winning for 7+yrs. More relaxed and winning. Everyone else in AFC trying to copy. K.C. has copied it.
I don't know. Kind of, I guess. KC has adapted a lot of the good things the Patriots did during their dynasty, why wouldn't you? But Belichick is the greatest defensive coach ever, and Reid is the greatest offensive coach ever, so they really don't look all that similar when you watch the games. Except both Brady and Mahomes have that killer "come back and beat you in the final moments" aspect to them; neither ever felt the game was lost no matter how behind they got.
True, there are a lot of similarities between the two dynasties. Plus the chiefs could learn from the past about complacency. The 07 pats went 16-0 through the reg season and got two more wins (went to 18-0) in the playoffs... til they ran into the giants in the superbowl. A giants team with Steve Spagnuolo as the defensive coordinator. Andy and Steve would 100% have these boys lined up for success.
The thing about the Chiefs not caring about MVPs... it has been lost to time, but not even 5 years ago, in 2020, Mahomes had a chance of becoming the first QB ever with two 5k yards, 40 TDs seasons, and he punted on that, and the MVP, by sitting the last week of the season because they had the 1st seed locked up. Rodgers did play the last week, rounded up an also very worthy MVP season (despite winning fewer games than Mahomes and losing 2 more) and Mahomes did not only not win MVP but in also one of those extremely stupid votes that get forgotten, he ended up 3rd behind Josh Allen.
In 2022, Mahomes won MVP, the SB & SBMVP. Also broke Drew Brees' record for Most Total Offensive Yards in a Single Season with 5,614. Mahomes has nearly 6k more Regular Season Passing Yards than Allen (32,352 for Mahomes, 26k for Allen), 49 more Regular Season Passing TD'S & 10 less INT'S than Allen in only 2 more games. Mahomes had 5,097 Passing Yards (& 50 Passing TD'S) in 2018 (16 games) & 5,250 Passing Yards in 2022 (17 games).
You said at the end of last year that the Ravens and and Bills had their chance, I remember that and you were 100 percent right. The Chief's are a better team this year. So many are raving about the Bill's and Josh Allen being so great. I'm having trouble seeing that. The playoff's seem to bring out the best in the Chief's!

The 3-peat is huge! Mahommes, knows having lost to Brady in a Super Bowl (2020). A "3-peat" goes a long way in being the undisputed G.O.A.T. Especially, if he less or ties 7 Super Bowl wins in less than 23/yrs. If he has more... There's no argument!
Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown just dog walked the East and the Luka led Mavs to win the finals. Jokic is having his 4th straight MVP level season as well as Giannis dominating nightly. Ja is doing 360 layups for fun and Wemby is getting close to a quadruple double. Casual fans and National media are too biased and stupid to see how great the young players truly are.
The complaints about the 3pt shot is frankly overblown. It’s not like inside scoring has gone away, and overall FGA is largely the same. The only difference is that long range 2’s have been replaced by 3’s
maybe once the second or third round of the playoffs start lol the first round and this corny "play-in tournament" are usually about as interesting as the preseason
@@BlazerManiacNumber96 that is absolutely not the only difference lol the game is soft, the league is soft, the players are soft, and softness is so tolerated that we don't expect defense, we don't expect players to play every night, and we think watching these guys float around 90% of the game and jack up brick after brick after brick from 3 is "largely the same" game that we used to see 15-20 years ago the proliferation of the 3 point shot is a direct byproduct of the "load management/rest nights" culture, it's easier to just pass it around the perimeter and hoist long balls, and people who want coaches to be calculators think it's the only way to play whether you have guys who can actually hit those shots or not it's straight up a quantity over quality game now where soft behavior is both encouraged and rewarded this isn't what the sport used to be
Greatness starts at the top down A. Reid is the mastermind of winning. Game management and control of the clock and play calls is absolutely masterpiece of coaching. Players of a caliber of greatness and teaching we play like I'm not greedy I get the ball now, you get your turn to shine on the next. Great minds think alike and if you can teach that than you can dominate.
Lakers just need Vando back and trade for some real athletes that can defend and put the ball on the floor, the shooting isn’t the issue really…they will still get shooters tho…Bron and AD can still win more titles they are the best duo they just need a real supporting cast
Lakers have said this EVERY. YEAR. FOR. 4. Years! Lakers are always a trade away from the “perfect” roster. And EVERY YEAR it turns out the same. Play-in game, get swept by Nuggets, pull media stunt during finals to grab attention from the great teams and transition to another off season of will LeBron retire or move teams. It’s all so….basic.
@ yeah, he’s another one but I actually think Bayless is pretty smart. He just figured out that having controversial takes gets you buzz and clicks, views and ratings. I legitimately think Cowherd believe the dumb stuff he says like “The Warriors have the shooting to beat the Celtics and Thunder” and that Jimmy Butler makes the Warriors a contender. I’m one of the biggest Jimmy Butler fans there is period. But that Warriors roster is absolute garbage and Kerr has made them a complete disaster because he literally has a legit 10 man rotation. I used to actually like Cowherd when I listened to him on ESPN radio in like 2013. But he’s such a clown now. His takes are just abysmal.
I would like to see Steph get some help, but I don’t think an aging Butler is the answer. Warriors are too small.. if a Vucevic can be had for virtually nothing, why not go that route? The real problem with the Warriors is Kerr. He has a lot of good, young talent he’s not giving a chance to-Waters, Podz, Moody, GPII could’ve played more last night, even Looney. He’d rather play the same players forever, whether they are being productive or not. Kuminga should be the second option on this team. Hield barely got any touches/time down the stretch and he is a certified 3- point shooter
NBA ratings are in the toilet because their major TV contracts are with premium cable channels in an age where nobody has cable. Nobody is paying $200/mo just to watch Inside the NBA. NFL is on broadcast networks that anyone can access. NBA coming back to NBC should help, though it should also be noted that globally the sport is doing just fine so idk how much they even care.
Lol as a Chiefs fan, we sit back quietly all year, while every fanbase is talkin shyt, claiming we suck.... We know whats going on. The chiefs use the regular season to fine tune how they want to play when things matter. Its an 18 week, 18 game long practice session. I know y'all dont want to hear that-- that the Chiefs use yalls teams as practice sessions. But its true. As soon as they need to, they flip a switch, and all of a sudden they look dominant. y'all really think that wasnt there the whole time??? Y'all REALLY think we couldn't have turned it on at any point this season?? Cmon.. andy likes to rep every single game situation possible before the playoffs start. He works on very specific concepts, perfects them, and when the games begin to count, he unleashes all hes been cooking up and working on
NBA - make it illegal to take a 3 point shot with over 10 seconds left on the shot clock - until there are 3 minute left in the game THEN you can shoot 3s all day it would give the game more strategy at the very least
Chiefs winning the way the early Patriots Brady era. Close games, ball control, take away your weapons, control the ball, pressure the QB and stop the running game, limit turnovers. Impressive. As for LeBron - except for you media coasters LeBron has been irrelevant since the bubble. He is a joke hanging on like some stuffed royal. Retire already.
Podz doesn't hit 3. Agree the warriors need a 2nd option bucket getter. But getting rid of Wiggins & Jk to get Butler is a loss for the warriors. But if it's done and they win a chip everybody forgets about it. Warriors need to make a trade that is for SURE
I'm so grateful for the Buffalo loss. Can you imagine the pressure being undefeated would put on KC? Now they can be laser focused on getting the trophy
I watched Golden State and the Lakers last night… that is absolutely terrible to watch. All 3s and no defense. And they miss the 3s. These guys couldn’t play on the 80s and 90s bc of the physicality of the game, LaBron would have retired by now if he played then. I get the game has evolved, but it looks like a bad pickup game.

Don't forget Omenihoe came back 3 games ago and we have had 5 sacks each game allowing other guys to get the sack.
WE HAVE TO RESPECT WHAT THEM BOYS IN KC ARE REALLY DOING ON A 3PEAT SEASON ARE YOU SERIOUS???!! IF THEY PULL THIS OFF WOWWWWWW
The lakers DO NOT play Denver well lmao. Last two playoff series 8-1 for Denver lmao that’s a good sample
The games are close.
I would enjoy seeing Draymond and Jimmy play off of each others' emotions. And Jimmy deserves another shot at a title. Good call, Colin.
No way this dude referred to himself as “Uncle Colin” 😂😂😂
You Like 10+ Years Late My Boy
7:13 its funny how he makes the case for the trade, while making the case why no one should want to touch the trade lol
Chiefs trying to become the 1st team to win 3 super bowls and the 1st team to win 3 straight championships since the Packers of the 60s
I promise you that no one in Pittsburgh brags about the "no losing season" streak. We want trophies.
None of the young stars have lived up to the superstar status. Until these kids start taking it serious, the NBA needs to rely on its old guys.
Regarding the Mavs, Kyrie & Luka have been playing defense when needed. That’s a lazy old narrative. They’re 4th in the West for a reason.
Collin is clueless !
Chiefs is the Greatest team to ever play the game. PM15 is not fair to them teams 😂😂😂
I do think the NBA shoots too many threes but I think once the playoffs start, a lot of people will be tuned in. Too many stars all over the league
@@BlazerManiacNumber96 that is absolutely not the only difference lol
the game is soft, the league is soft, the players are soft, and softness is so tolerated that we don't expect defense, we don't expect players to play every night, and we think watching these guys float around 90% of the game and jack up brick after brick after brick from 3 is "largely the same" game that we used to see 15-20 years ago
the proliferation of the 3 point shot is a direct byproduct of the "load management/rest nights" culture, it's easier to just pass it around the perimeter and hoist long balls, and people who want coaches to be calculators think it's the only way to play whether you have guys who can actually hit those shots or not
it's straight up a quantity over quality game now where soft behavior is both encouraged and rewarded
this isn't what the sport used to be
Lebron and Steph Squaring off can’t even amount to half an nfl viewership, removing those 2 would tank the viewership even more
No one wants to watch a 3 point shoot out every night , sorry LeRatings get over it
Butler to the nuggets for mpj and a 2nd round pick
Greatness starts at the top down A. Reid is the mastermind of winning. Game management and control of the clock and play calls is absolutely masterpiece of coaching. Players of a caliber of greatness and teaching we play like I'm not greedy I get the ball now, you get your turn to shine on the next. Great minds think alike and if you can teach that than you can dominate.
The chiefs taking jeanty would be the most epic turn of events ever.
I didn't know no losing seasons was a bad thing
LeBron and Curry are the NBA! I promise you once they are gone the ratings will tank!!
The NBA need to remove the 3pt line and make the players get more creative with scoring 💯 Bring back post moves for big men & midrange shooting
What does he mean if they had a undercard? The 1st 2 games were crazy good and entertaining. This is the issue media down playing the NBA product
The NBA suck brother bunch of overpaid pus---- who don't even have heart to play every night
Lakers just need Vando back and trade for some real athletes that can defend and put the ball on the floor, the shooting isn’t the issue really…they will still get shooters tho…Bron and AD can still win more titles they are the best duo they just need a real supporting cast
They also need a big 5 so AD can play 4. AD will have less injury risks playing power forward instead of center.
"they just need a real supporting cast"
someone should tell that to Rob Pelinka, because he seems to be entirely unaware of that fact
Haven’t the NBA milked these players enough ?
LOL....Hearing Colin say "Podz hitting 3's" just shows how little he knows about basketball
The fact he said the Warriors have shooters lol
Cowherd is living proof that you don’t need to even understand what you’re watching to make an amazing living talking about sports.
FACTS
Skip as well
@ yeah, he’s another one but I actually think Bayless is pretty smart.
And you're living proof self awareness is rare
“Don’t worry LeBron, Ben Simmons is here”. - Colin Cowherd
Colin says the Warriors need length then in the same breath tells them to get a gaurd
Kc baby 😎😎😎😎
I would like to see Steph get some help, but I don’t think an aging Butler is the answer. Warriors are too small.. if a Vucevic can be had for virtually nothing, why not go that route? The real problem with the Warriors is Kerr. He has a lot of good, young talent he’s not giving a chance to-Waters, Podz, Moody, GPII could’ve played more last night, even Looney. He’d rather play the same players forever, whether they are being productive or not. Kuminga should be the second option on this team. Hield barely got any touches/time down the stretch and he is a certified 3- point shooter
Huh? The NBAs ratings are in the toilet because of Lebron, Steph and Silver.
the nba only has viewers because of lebron and steph. when they retire the ratings go down 50%. silver is a problem tho
Thought he would take the rest of the week off considering Christmas
He works on very specific concepts, perfects them, and when the games begin to count, he unleashes all hes been cooking up and working on
NBA - make it illegal to take a 3 point shot with over 10 seconds left on the shot clock - until there are 3 minute left in the game THEN you can shoot 3s all day
it would give the game more strategy at the very least
Hollywood not worried about no tom cruise anymore
Chiefs winning the way the early Patriots Brady era. Close games, ball control, take away your weapons, control the ball, pressure the QB and stop the running game, limit turnovers. Impressive. As for LeBron - except for you media coasters LeBron has been irrelevant since the bubble. He is a joke hanging on like some stuffed royal. Retire already.
"Lebron retire" blah blah blah.
LeBron, we’re good. We have Ben Simmons.
Talks about the best teams in the East, doesn’t mention Cleveland.
Podz doesn't hit 3.
Agree the warriors need a 2nd option bucket getter. But getting rid of Wiggins & Jk to get Butler is a loss for the warriors. But if it's done and they win a chip everybody forgets about it. Warriors need to make a trade that is for SURE
I would look too see jimmy inna warriors jersey
I'm so grateful for the Buffalo loss. Can you imagine the pressure being undefeated would put on KC? Now they can be laser focused on getting the trophy
Nobody in Pittsburgh cares about the no losing seasons streak
Colin people are tired of hearing about the chiefs
I watched Golden State and the Lakers last night… that is absolutely terrible to watch. All 3s and no defense. And they miss the 3s. These guys couldn’t play on the 80s and 90s bc of the physicality of the game, LaBron would have retired by now if he played then. I get the game has evolved, but it looks like a bad pickup game.
Steve Kerr would have no idea what to do with Jimmy Butler. Doesn't fit the system, and Kerr can't adapt. It would be a disaster.
Colin Saying The Warriors Have Enough Shooters Proves That He Hasn’t Watched Any Warriors Games This Year
The NBA is not a good product to watch. I will go with the NFL every day of the week.
Can’t believe this guy is talking. Few weeks ago he said Mahomes is overrated lol
James and Curry are the NBA
And chiefs look great. They are finally firing at all cylinders
Collin’s opinion will change again next week for clicks.
Cooper Flagg is the last hope
Steph isn’t good enough to be a 1 anymore, he’s too inconsistent and his lows are low
Same with LeBron
Nba is boring .....Christmas day Bulls vs New York knicks in 90s
The tv ratings yesterday was pretty good
