Colin, thank you for this fabulous walk-through of our product (I am one of the co-founders)! I somehow missed it when it came out, but caught it when someone re-linked it in a Reddit conversation. My question to you is, how could we make it better? What would you like to see improved?
Great video!!! i like so much , ill use it for my new project, the only things that is in my mind is render in the cloud once tht i finish the video eis posible ?
Thats very amazing! Storage simplified for teams but for individual editors its of not much use. And 1 more thing you need to be connected all the time this to work. Good to see Adobe trying to incorporate these new features. 😊
Really helpful video, thanks for creating and sharing. I'm working in a large enterprise broadcaster with creative teams who have issues this will really solve. I'll be in contact with LL. As another question, anyone know the Dock app Dave is using on his Mac together get that 2nd dock on the left of the screen. Thanks in advance. C.
Thanks for this intro to LL Colin. I work primarily in team projects with teams of 2-6 accessing the project. My major concern with LL is what happens *if* (when?) the service goes down OR there is an internet outage. Are you just out of luck until the problem is solved? It could be really disastrous to have to stop down for a half or full day if we're working with clients in the room. We work off of editshare right now, which could potentially have a similar issue if the system went down, but it is pretty reliable and typically within our control since the hardware is in our facility. Curious on your thoughts around this.
With any connected service, you have to be online to use it. Remember that LucidLink isn't storage, they use reliable storage partners so go look at the uptime for those solutions and that will tell you the level of reliability. AWS is used by the whole panet and I'd say it's very reliable.
Can the footage be self hosted? If we have a huge storage server in an office does all that footage still have to be uploaded to an S3 server somewhere before it can be shared? When you export does it reference the full res original media?
I suggest you reach out to the folks at LucidLink. You can always have a look at their solutions docs: support.lucidlink.com/support/solutions The media is always the original files. There are no Proxies.
Is this cloud computing or cloud storage? I'm looking for a computing server where I can edit my 4-8k footage with proxy files with my trash laptop on the go😂
I have a problem when making a title roll in Premiere Pro. The title's movement trembles when it rises from the bottom of the screen to the top. I tried in every way to find a solution... but to no avail. Please help in solving this problem.. Thanks.
@@VideoRevealed Uploading counts against data and and you still have to download data to work. So with 24 GB of data per month (base) this can't be a good solution. I've had Sharefile do a sync and blow thru my data in a 6 hour period. ATT could not explain how since that math didn't support this. But you have to be careful with stuff like this if you work remotely (on cell networks).
I live in the Country and high speed internet is pretty much unavailable. Satellite offers it for Way To Much $$$. With DSL you can only go so far.I have difficulty streaming 1080p UA-cam let alone streaming multiple video files.
@@VideoRevealed That was kind of my point. It was a rosy picture of the service provided with no mention of bandwidth requirements. I'm not knocking the service or the video, I love your content. However, limitations should have been covered. IMHO
Is LucidLink scanning your audio for "undesirable" keywords and mutes it entirely while you're working on your own computer? A friend told me and I find it disgusting how AI is interfering with individual's creative work.
Hi, Patric. LucidLink most certainly doesn't do what your friend told you. Each client (Windows, Linux, macOS) reads/writes directly to the object storage in a LucidLink architecture. The LucidLink Service is in the cloud but is not in the data path. Thus, no data ever passes through the LucidLink service. The LucidLink Service synchronizes the encrypted metadata across all clients that are connected to the Filespace globally. Additionally, LucidLink has no access to the data in it's "Zero Knowledge" security model. Only the client has the password for the username/password combo that unlocks the encryption key that then provides access to one's data in the Filespace. In a LucidLink architecture, one's data is encrypted at AES256 from the moment it is written to the Filespace on a client, in-flight to and from the object storage and at rest on the object storage. Thus, one's data can be deemed far more secure in a LucidLink architecture than simply using encryption-at-rest at the object storage provider. In a LucidLink architecture, only the client has access to their data.
Hello Mr. Colin, we thank you for your efforts for these videos that you make and publish for those interested in the art of editing.
You are very welcome

Wow, thanks for chiming in Peter! I was the guy who posted the Reddit comment and I have a few things I'd like to see so I'll reach out via email.

If you're using any other type cloud service then LucidLink is a great alternative even for an individual editor.

Hello Ian, that was for us a big concern too. Maybe our workflow fits to your team too. see my post here from one day ago.
@@michaelhofler511 Thank you Michael! Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!

Ok.
Hope it works for you.

Storage can be self hosted on Suite Studios, lucid new competitor ✌️
Nice
This would benefit me on a show that I work on with my buddy who is only 20 miles away!!!
You're going to love it.
I have been tryin to export but can’t . The video files just stopped playin
Try exporting locally, then move it to the LucidLink folder.

It shouldn't do that but maybe it's just a playback problem. Try exporting and see if it smooths it out.
I would work on one project using this and blow through my hotspot data in an afternoon. Plus it would take a lifetime.
It's not a one to one ratio of data transfer. First, upload is free and download is only when you're moving the playhead!
