Ah, if only all of life was like listening The Empty Bottle String Band sing "Wildwood Flower."
This is what country is about. Simple story told simply, no auto-tune or studio trickery. Four really talented musicians.
there is one autoharp, though...
Playing my 5 string banjo with all of you. Thanks George Roloson Ontario Canada
If I could click again, I would click double thumbs up or double Hearts...but I can't.
Thank you again, EBSB❤
Beautiful song; beautiful performance. The oh so rich video makes a difference too.
What a pleasure it is for me to enjoy this recording; I remember Mama Maybelle and the Carter family singing and playing this tune on WSM radio about 1950. Thank you for a wonderful rendition of Wildwood Flower.
Do it up kids sounds real good

@@bobbeck2743 Yes that was good also!
Thank youuuuuuu. Yo all wonderful
it's about time we see young performers doing good ol country and bluegrass music hooray its not dead.......
True to the song, the tradition, and an excellent vocal. Really well done.
I think I like it yes I do like it l could listen to this all day 👏👏👍✌️
Great rendition folks.
WoW loved that . Nice to see the girls smile at the end once they knew it was a great performance.
Having had the chance to see several more public performances of the Empty Bottle String Band on UA-cam, I have become a big fan of these young folks, and am greatly impressed by the entire group. It does my old heart good to see young folks doing genuine old mountain music, and doing it so well! Clearly the finest musicians playing today are NOT on any major record label, comparing the Empty Bottle String Band to the "garbage" heard today on the radio. I am greatly touched by this performance, how Stephanie and Krystal start and end with auto harp and guitar instrumentals, likely out of respect and admiration for the Carter Family, and how Tyler and Ryan smoothiy slide in with genuine mountain style banjo and fiddle. Each of these folks are superb musicians, and Stephanie, Krystal and Tyler can all sing lead, and each can harmonize just as well. Stephanie's sweet voice is ideal for "Wildwood Flower", as this is a woman's song and never sounds right otherwise. Best wishes to the EBS Band and I hope there are many years of performances ahead. Hope you folks get a major record contract and set the Country/Folk/Bluegrass music world on its ear in a serious shakeup back to tradition that is LONG overdue.
Thanks for such a nice comment!
Well thank you what a musical treat to the ears .. The girls are lovely , and sing Beautiful ,but if I dare say that ,there was no violin or banjo in the Carter Families original wild wood flower . The boys in the band really add to the emotional impact ,the violin plays with a bit of raspy earyness and the banjo seems to be an eight of a step behind that catches your ears in a deep soulful expression ,like the death of a love affair , that makes you want to cry !!! Wow thank you love and emotion , what real people and country music is all about !!!
Now that really was a treat!
Very good. Thank you 😀
Five bags of popcorn!
Great job buetiful !
Wow this is just wonderful! Shame Maude Irving isn't here to hear her poem put to music and know that in her despair she brought such happiness to so many.
Beautiful a so are ya' all. Thanks 😊 🫂.
This is what you call a great song, written 1860 still being played today. Brilliant 😉
Absolutely beautiful interpretation, perfect in every way, in my opinion. A sweet ensemble recalling the sound of generations of fine players. Love the baby guitar, light & ringing clear through the mix, don't need the thumpy bottom end "bass-iness" for delicate ballads like this. A lovely floaty timeless feel right through the song. Well done all. gracias.
I can't add much to that. My feelings exactly.
1song I ever played,, really nice folks.

Your both great and the wild wood flower is my favorite of all my favorite thank you for the song
Superb. A treat for sure.
absolutly wonderful !!
Lovely!!
Fantastic! I love this group!
I watch this a lot. A great Carter family song. The way that they do it around the one mic is excellent. Dr. Jeter has a fine voice. Tyler on the Banjo and Kristal on the guitar play softly so that the Autoharp can be heard. Autoharp is such a lovely instrument.
Empty Bottle String Band such beautiful voices , wonderful band one of my absolute favourite artists.
merci !
If you start with some mainstream country music on you tube and keep digging deeper you eventually come across little gems like this band and others like a super version of sourwood mountain by judgment day. There are also a lot of amateur musicians playing at local dances and contests and it is well worth digging around.Try inputting Ole Joe Clark Laurel Bloomery and you will be amazes at the musicians
Probably the best contemporary performance of "Wildwood Flower" I've heard in many, many years. (The 1928 Carter Family recording is THE version with 19 year old Maybelle's incredible guitar work). Nonetheless, this version is beautifully done, following the A. P. Carter arrangement precisely. Lovely voice and I particularly like the guitar and autoharp instrumentals. as both ladies are excellent musicians. I would like to see more "autoharp/guitar only instrumentals" in the tradition of the original Carter Family. The original guitar/autoharp instrumentals by Maybelle and Sara are absolutely gorgeous. But these two young ladies are so good that they could do the Original Carter Family songs justice. Two particularly beautiful Carter Family songs are the 1927 Bristol recording of "The Storms Are On The Ocean", and the 1928 recording of "Sailor On The Deep Blue Sea". I've yet to hear any singer do these songs justice, but I think these two young ladies could!
I agree!
Greetings from Austria
Wonderful! Thanks for the posting!

You Guys are Great !
Absolutely wonderful! What a soothing treat! So tender and so peaceful. The instrumental periods were perfect. Wish you made the song last 10 minutes. Thank you for the happiness.
