- With the compact coupe market dwindling, Honda [pretty much] has the segment all to itself and with the latest Civic Coupe now offering the same sleek style, turbo power, and high tech features as the sleek new sedan introduced a few months ago, it looks as if Honda will continue to hold its top dog status in a shrinking segment.
Due to unforeseen circumstances during filming, this video had to be edited in below HD quality. We apologize in advance as there was very little time to shoot the 2016 Civic Coupe during the media preview, but we greatly appreciate your understanding and we have made every effort to ensure all other videos are back up to the quality you guys expect from us

I'm listening to this review and side of the vehicle and yes my left ear sounded like he was only coming out that end on certain parts of the video and then the music was so loud it almost blew my eardrums out at the end

This is my favorite compact car! Have to get the coupe, the styling is amazing and unique. My friend has an ex-t manual and it's very luxurious and sporty for only $22K great job Honda!
I bought a 2018 green ex-t coupe. I love everything about my car. The one difference I notice in the 2018 vs 2016 ex-t is that the 2018 comes with a leather wrapped wheel and the 2016 does not.
For a moment, I thought my right headphone was broken. Phew.

Looks fuckin awesome at night especially with the sedan. I saw a few of them over here in Houston and it almost makes me feel sorry for all those other new cars that are out makes them look outdated. Honda is pushing it to the next level with the civic.

Interior is impressive
Meanwhile the 10th gen civics in the UK, and other parts of the world got parking sensors. Headlight washers, a hatchback with full glass roof. Plus they got a 1.0l 3 cylinder turbo, the 1.5t WITH VTEC, and a 1.6 diesel. They also got many different options on their instrument clusters. Things we didn't get until the 11th gen.
I heard the 2017 models will be available with a manual transmission mated with the turbo, in all trims.
+DSM jUhnky How come there are no new 2017 models? Every year the model cars that come out are one year ahead. Like in 2014, a 2015 car would be released. Why aren't 2017 cars being released this year?
Usually the next year models don't make it to the dealership floors till the end of every year... Last year I was looking at a Subaru legacy, it was about October, and they said they wouldn't have the next year models in stock until mid November... not sure why. Probably to sell all they can with that they have to make way for the upcoming models.
I meant that every year, even at the start of the year we see commercials for a car that is a year ahead. However, i see no 2017 Toyota or Honda being advertised.

uh,the audio is all over the place. but about the car, most of it looks good, but the rear did not translate well IMO from concept to production. looks awkward.

Unfortunately, we ran into some issues during filming and because we literally only had a couple hours to shoot the car during the media preview, there was no time to fix it. Don't worry, we'll make sure this doesn't happen again but we appreciate all of your understanding :)

Would you compare the 2 liter to the 1.5 turbo for performance? I am concerned about buying a first year turbo engine, since Honda has never had a turbo it's got to have bugs the first year.

the 1.5 turbo with a manual coupe. I'm gonna have to check that out once it's released. sounds like an awesome setup pretty quick and fun but practical and good mpgs. this car might be able to get me back into a honda

Just wondering: As Scion is no more and most of their lineup are back to Toyota, I wonder when they discontinue the tC, will there's a chance Toyota is actually re-badge it and bring back the Celica? I think it would be a great competitor against the Honda Civic Coupe (SI?) with a thoughtful "upgrade", but it's only a fantasy for now. :-(

Don't know why so many are hung up on a volume knob.. I have a volume knob on my '13 V6 Accord Coupe and I never use it - always use steering wheel mounted controls. Looks like a nice ride and I even like the funky rear on this car. Well played Honda.. Add lumbar support will ya?

Does it really come with the 450 W stereo on EX-T trims and up? On the sedan version it's reserved for the Touring only, LX has like a 120W without a sub and the EX through EX-L are 180W I'm pretty sure.
what coupe trim do you have to get for the turbo? and they should add like 10hp and make this the base accord engine

+Kellan Larson All I could think of when thinking of a failing clear coat is it just peeling off and if it affects any 15 year model civics ( I own a 15 coupe and you have me worried now)
Honda just uses shitty, cheap clear coat. Wax it by hand if you can to keep the life of the clear coat to the max
+John Knowles With your comment i just learned about that issue. Never knew that clear coat peeling off could be an issue with any automaker. Now i feel sad, because hondas are such great quality vehicles, but the clear coat thing will now be a deal-breaker for me.

Hondas are not what they used to be not since they switched over to that CVT transmission crap nobody really likes that they need to bring back the real Transmission that they had in their older cars and bring back the real VTEC motor

I'm very attracted to the coupe. As cars get bigger and bigger to fit us and lower for aerodynamics (which really hurts us in areas with significant snow), it's hard to find one that fits my garage. I'd really like this one because it likely will fit; I sat in one at the car show Saturday 4/16/2016 in Lunar silver and it was great. But is that CVT going to be reliable or problematic like the CR-V's transmission?
I want this vehicle so bad but I'm not in the market yet. Two more years and I'm snatching one up. I think I want the EX-T trim level because I can get the manual transmission with it but I love the headlights in the model you are showing.
Not sure why you keep mentioning that the car has not competition due to the TC no longer being available and the Kia Forte being it. Are you only considering FWD? Otherwise the FR-S would be competition for both.
I had a 2014 Coupe EX (1.8L SOHC MFI) and miss the paddle shifters, and two sets of camera, since I traded it in for the 2016 LX-P. Big mistake. I now have 7500 miles on it and am beginning to hear some incipient vibration from the body up front, no paddle shifters, and only has a rear view cam.
Honda should bring back the prelude instead of just focusing on civic,accord and crv.

A few years ago I would have agreed with you, but now no. The Prelude should stay dead all it was was a Accord Coupe with better interior features. The Prelude was Honda's test mule for new tech, and features. The reason they killed it off was because it was massively outsold and out classed by the Accord Coupe. Its a great car and I love it, but it doesn't need to exist anymore. If you want a modern Prelude by an Accord Coupe V6.
The Prelude was pretty redundant after a while, the Del Sol is the one they should bring back.
Could you put in the description the titles of the music you use in your videos?
I feel that a manual mode with a CVT would have been a little silly but I wished you were able to film your drive in the 6 spd. Would have loved to see and hear how it drove !

One thing in the Acura's favor, it has the 8spd dual clutch transmission instead of the CVT the Civic has to make due with. I'd race down to my Honda dealer if the new Civic had the 8spd.

I was going to get the sedan but I'm opting for the coupe, touring trim in blue or white. I just don't like that spoiler wing that they attach, but it seems like it's optional which is a good thing.
I can't find a single touring sedan at any of my local dealers..... Are they late on production?

Sadly, here in Australa, we won't be getting the coupe, but we will get paddle shifters on the sedan when it's released in May 2016. Swings and roundabouts.

Looks alright. I like the overall aggressive stance but there are a little too many folds and creases on the sheet metal for my taste. Looks kinda busy and maybe even a bit on the garish side.
I had an EJ6 1999 honda civic and man I miss it.. some asshole driving a nissan maxima didnt have his headlights on in pouring down rain and heavy fog and i turned off the highway and clipped him.. his car was a greyish blue and mixed right into the fog.. having his lights on would have changed everything. the civic was totaled.. bent the frame and destroyed drivers front wheel side..
I got lucky I wasn't hurt at all. I totaled my car and was at work 2 hours later. sadly it was considered my fault and only having liabilty insurance it fixed their car but not mine. I couldnt afford another car so I now have been walking to work for 2 years.
I miss my '99 civic.. It was so so fun to drive... I put headers and a whole exhaust kit on it and an intake and it was just a dream to drive on curvy roads.. with the headers and all I got it dyno'd and it had 120hp from the stock 106
I had the non v-tec engine which was the D16Y7.. It was by far the easiest/most room engine layout I've ever seen.. it was so so simple to work on.. I just really miss it... I put alot of work into it and did all the work myself.... NGK iridium plugs and blue NGK wires.. new distributor cap and rotor.. new fuel filter.. brand new honda brand ATF.. it only had 96k on the motor too..
I bought it used in 2010 with only 56k on the motor too! its a damn shame its gone... I will only buy hondas from now on after owning that car.
Sorry to hear that, dude. I know what it's like to have to walk to work. It's not easy. Hopefully things are looking up for you now. I went from having no car to having a beat up Pontiac to now owning a 2017 Civic Coupe EX-T. Sucks about the car.

Yea, it's rough, man. Stupidly, because I was in such bad need for a car, I got into college (did well), but used some of the loan from it to get a car, and get situated. But obviously that's not the best way to go about it. But from there I was able to get a better job, and now I'm not comfortable, but not daily stressed. You'll get out of it, dude. It's a pain in the ass, but there's definitely a way forward. For a while there, I was driving a 220,000 mile Pontiac, and just praying it wouldn't break down.
God I hope so. All I want is another 99 civic EX or shoot for the moon and get a 99 civic SI.. Its pathetic that 5-6000$ seems like a million dollars to me. I'm talkin about spending 6 grand finding a good one with low miles.

The 1.5T with the CVT is quicker than a '15 Si. Honda is probably underrating the numbers on the 1.5T as well.
