    I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with
    !!! Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️

      I suspect Ms Mahalia Jackson leads the angels on Sunday morning; but I'm betting come Sunday evening the good Lord is listening to the Brothers Gibb. And He's not ready for Barry's falsetto yet...it weighs heavy on the oldest brother.
      I listened to another reactor do this same song not too long ago. An interview with Barry came up in my recommends the next day. The interviewer asked many questions about his brothers; he finally lost it, and asked for the cameras to be cut off. It was enough to make anyone tear up.
      Their harmonies were legendary...but they would be, the boys were literally just kids when they started.
      I'm not sure most know what great songwriters they were. Their own songs, songs for others, songs that were covered by others.

    Great reaction to another of the Bee Gees beautiful ballads. Few groups can harmonize like the Gibb brothers.
    Another of their great ballads is, How Deep Is Your Love. Stayin Alive, is also good if you want to go a little funkier.
    Another classic vintage ballad that holds up just as well, is The Carpenters: We've Only Just Begun. One of the best voices that has ever existed, Karen Carpenter, and like the BG's, wonderful arrangements and production by Richard Carpenter.

The studio recording is dubbed over the top and is mismatched to who is singing (for example, when Robin is singing the second part of the verse, you hear Barry's voice). I'm amazed by the sound of that, not fully understanding what it means. 27 layers, wow. It sounds like a lot. I wonder what the norm is.

    • @Erizedd
      @Erizedd 3 роки тому +1

      @@vonettadevo To put it into context, one layer of harmony is one line you would sing. when you take that same line and record it in a slightly different tone (higher or lower) then layer it over the top, it's two layers. This is done to give a more full sound to the song. This song was layered 27 times, which included (approx) multiple layers of falsetto by Barry, falsetto by Maurice and Robin, mid-tone layers by Barry, etc. This heavy layering was also not uncommon for the Bee Gees in the 70s, but it was always a massive undertaking and labor of love, as there was no auto-tune back then (production was far more simplistic) and they had to time things perfectly. They wrote, composed and gave everything to their music (also, Barry is a major perfectionist, so this contributed to the quality). 💗
      EDIT: fixed typo

    • @vonettadevo
      @vonettadevo 3 роки тому

      @@Erizedd Wow, mind blown. That sounds very meticulous. I do appreciate all the work they put into their music, and being a perfectionist, can totally relate, though not to that extent. Thank you for the explanation. Are you in the music business? I love listening to music from the ‘70s and comparing it to music that came after. I wonder if The Bee Gees’ later music was easier to produce with the technological advances in the ‘80s.

    • @vonettadevo
      @vonettadevo 3 роки тому

      @@Erizedd Also, they’ve said that singing Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) live was difficult to do because of the multiple layers. So if this has 27, which I thought Fanny had, why could they sing this one live?

    The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.'
    (1) Maurice (on the right ..not a lot of hair- pronounced Morris) passed away in 2003. To make a long story short, while on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days!
    (2) Robin (on the left - long hair) fraternal twin of Maurice, passed away 2012, after the diagnosis of cancer.
    (3) Andy, the youngest brother, who had his own successful career, died of inflammation of the muscles surrounding the heart. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30.
    The 3 brothers were also married and had children.
    (4) Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which will also be Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide (probably more by now.) They were also writers for many other artists. Barry just completed a new project called 'Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook.' It is very nice! On a side note, their sister, Lesley, who is the first born, was 77 in January, 2021. I want to support you, somehow. I was expecting you to react while the music played but to each its own. Please turn off distractions and wear headphones to capture the tiniest beat and harmony. Otherwise, please keep this going. You have a very commercial look. It feels good watching you.

    The group the Bee Gees were brothers. All 3 brothers have falsetto range which made them that more talented. The Bee Gees have been recording as a group since the early 60's. The group became even more popular in the 70's. Their music could easily stand up today in rotation on any R&B or Soft Rock Radio station. Sadly Barry Gibb the lead singer is the only brother still alive. The youngest brother Andy Gibb not in the group, but a great solo artist in his own right passed away first. Maurice Gibb passed away then Robin Gibb passed away leaving only Barry.
