He may be family. My dad was a Beasley. And Mr. John Beasley has those Beasley eyes. There were only two Beasley's in the phone book back in the day in the early 1960's where we lived, my dad Joseph T Beasley and my uncle, Benjamin Beasley, he's 93 years old now. My dad passed in 2002. We come from a very musical family too. My daughters play the Clarinet and one of my sons plays the guitar and my youngest son plays the guitar. My mom sang Opera and played the piano. l remember hearing her record on the radio back in the early 1960's. She got married and had children but she still sang in the church choirs. Thanks for the video. Jazzy jazz.😊
Brook Benton and Chubby Checker were family friends of my dad and my grandfather. Do music runs deep in our family. Thanks for the music. Man, so relaxing right now.
Wonderful. I play piano by ear. I have to learn how to read music. My mother always had a piano in the house. She bought me a Magnus Cord organ when I was 12 years old back in 1969. Coincidentally my maiden name was Beasley. Lol! Thanks for the video. Love it.
Saw them live last night. Peter Erskine on drums, slightly different instrumentation (added bari sax, 3 trombones). Burnin'. Lots of Monk tunes you probably never heard. Brilliant arranging and playing. Bass player was on fire. All solos tearing it up. Check them out if/when you can.
Just heard his music on a new Meryl Streep movie. The movie was CRAP! But the music and organ was GREAT! I never heard of John beasley before movie. Great music!! ILLbe listening to more now.

The piano intro is magic, and the rhythm after is a bit nu 90's jazz afterwards. Totally awesome, thanks, cheers and best!
Brilliant arrangement...the collaboration between piano and bass...WOW !!!

Beautiful playing, beautiful chart! The piano intro is gorgeous!
I wish the instrumentalists had been listed so we could all give them the credit they deserve for their excellent playing.
This is incredible.
Brilliant!
