Are you more of a solo filmmaker or do you have a dedicated position on set?
More solo, but starting to build a team out.
There always is a struggle for the top positions, I also always try to get the position of DP but i find that it is always good to know when to step down and when you can gain something by working in a "lesser" role.
100%.. It really does depend on the type of project too!
Were you joking when you said you left filmaking and UA-cam. I'm in confusion.
Anyways, great video.
I really don’t understand what happened! I said I left COMMERCIAL filmmaking. Small clients. I specifically said I’m focusing on UA-cam and bigger filmmaking projects like narrative films and documentaries. I don’t know why everyone misunderstood that 🤔
That was a genuine question btw not a dig 😅
Likewise. But no way I have done this big stuff. Maybe in future. Its that in India people don't pay you well for any of these roles unless you go deep in the rabbit hole(Full time filmmaker)
Great video! I have an off-topic question, though, if you don't mind. At 8:20, you're using a large white scrim; what brand/model is that, and what clamps do you use to connect it to your c stands? I'm a solo filmmaker but every once in awhile I have a larger budget for crew and gear. I'm trying to build a list of tools for some of these bigger projects, and I've been looking into scrims/diffusion for outdoor lighting recently.
Hey, it's that one: bhpho.to/42inELt
I really like it but it is a bit on the pricier sight. But especially when working with smaller crews it great because it is so easy to build up and flexible to use!
@@damiencooper Thank you! It looks stronger than the Wescott Scrim Jim that I used a few weeks ago. I appreciate all of the good info!
@@StonefieldDesign not sure. They might be very similar
I thought he gave up on commercial work?? 🤔
🤷🏿♂️
I don't do any production company work anymore. That's what the video was about. I very much still work as a DP or do youtube
