Its pretty strange but they had huge popularity in USSR. Millions of people were listening and byuing records paying a lot for each record. Definitely not underrated there :)

Very good cover of the song. Seems to me the clip they used is from Never marry a railroad man. Klaasje van der Wal, Leo van de Ketterij and Robbie van Leeuwen weren't in anymore at 1974.
@@harryhackney6416 ..Sorry but no. Agnetha was more beautifull. And i know Mariska and Shocking Blue, pretty close from long long time ago. Mariska was also stunning yes. And a great voice. That's true.

@@harryhackney6416 I agree with you - I even have heard Björn Ulvaeus from ABBA say on Swedish tv that they wouldn't have succeeded without Eurovision. In many ways I think Shocking Blue have similarities to ABBA but still both bands have their own individuality too. I love them both and I agree that the old music from the 70s and 80s is the best!
@@lifeinrussia1991 you apparently haven't heard the really Heavy Acid Rock songs that Shocking Blue have done, and the Prog Rock songs. I can't believe that anyone would compare a Proto Metal band that was guitar oriented with a single Vocalist to a multi Vocal based Pop music band. Shocking Blue was closer to Jefferson Airplane than Abba. The Jackson 5 , the Bee Gees, the Andrew Sisters, and the Beach Boys all share more in common with Abba. AKA the Captain and Tanneil from Sweden than Shocking Blue does.
I thought that the guy/man introducing the Shocking Blue group, kinda looked like actor/comedian Bill Murray (the hairstyle too). (Mariska Veres kinda sounds like Grace Slick..)

Lovely hair !! all 4 of them....🙃
She's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in decades. I love Mariska forever.
Only recently discovered this group. Amazingly beautiful and talented singer. Ahead of their times. Should have been massive.
Surprised they weren't bigger...sounds amazingly modern.
Most things ahead of their time aren't that successful during their time, unfortunately.

This is really an amazing song (& cover)!!!
This band was criminally ignored/underrated.
Covers by Nirvana and Kraftwerk copied some of the music too,so pretty inspirational

Is that effect throughout the video from the camera filming the band through a rotating cube or other geometric structure made of mirrors ?
❤️❤️❤️
