- Showing how to install a aftermarket radio in a Mazda 3.
Apart from a new radio you will need an adapter harness and a new Bezel, which fits your model of Mazda 3.
Prepare the harness adapter ahead of time, so all you have to do during the installation is plug the harness in between the vehicle harness and the new radio. - Навчання та стиль
This is where I found the harness adapter on Amazon:
amzn.to/2QMSESx
Did you lose A/C after installing after market radio ? Did you have manual hvac or auto hvac ?
@@madieandkemo ?
Do you not have to hook up the smaller harness that comes off the back of the radio to anything? Just the big, main harness?
Thanks man, that plastic fascia part above the glove box was helpful, I probably would’ve broke it off like you said
thank you for sharing this. well explained and right to the point
Good stuff. You made it look as easy as it is. Thanks for the video.
Thanks man! Helped me out a lot!!
Thanks for being clear and straight to the point!!
Well I'm glad I have a Mazda 3. My previous Audi A4's stereo you had to replace the entire center box in order to install a 2Din dead unit.
Thats why audi labor is ridiculous expensive
I don't wanna touch my Golf radio because I can imagine this same issue. Idk why VW/Audi decided to secure speakers with rivets... 🤦♂️
That secondary display above the radio, there needs to be some kind of aftermarket replacement would make a great info screen for MPG etc
Great video, straight to the point!!
Awsome video thanks
Very helpful
What size is your new double din? 7"?
What is the name for the harness adapter you used?
Where did you buy the aftermarket radio from?
What size was the radio you installed ?
Lol just like I did you dropped the screw and didn't want to take it all back out. xD
Do you have a link to the wire harness?
I have a 2008 mazda speed 3
Both the head unit bezel and head unit look like they're going to fall out. Doesn't look OEM at all, would be a target to thieves, and the break-in damage would be a lot more $$ than the head unit is worth. Went with an Eonon GA9251B. Looks and fits like it's OEM, retained all my factory features/functions including the OEM LCD + MPG calculator, and of course has large knobs.
Do you find the radio lags at only 2GB RAM?
Also, does the radio have the eonon logo on it or is there no branding?
What is the link to the site that shows what wires to connect the stereo Mazda adapter I bought it an I got blue brown oranges pink left an on othrr side Orange White stripe an blue white stripe not sure what to do with then I looked for link like you said but could not find thanks
where u found this, looks like from market in Kazahstan?!
Where can we buy the same new radio you used in replaced
Did you lose A/C after installing after market radio ?
Bro what size Is this screen or what's the biggest you can put in a mazda 3?
Would have helped if you listed what year of Mazda 3 it was. The radio configuration greatly varies.
Quite obvious it's a bk (2004-2009)
Great!!!
Hi, got a mazda3 skyactive 2017, I can't figure out how to wire the steering wheel control on an aftermarket device, need help thx
can you please post how the harness wires connect to the car radio wires i am having issues trying to hookup the amp wire and the antenna thanks.
can you send me a link to the exact same things you bought in this video ? please
Thanks for the video ! I had a little question about how did You replace the FM screen thats above the "screen" to be a glove box ? (whats the name if the piece) 🙄
His mada 3 is not new enough I believe. I don't think it has that top screen
What brand of din did you replace?
Thanks for the answer
So for the wiring harness
There were some wires I saw in the video that you didn't connect. So, with that one there are some we don't connect?
Correct, some of the wires are not used.
I am not sure what all of them exactly are right now. I believe some of them were for an external amplifier.
@@MegaSafetyFirst alright thanks I was confused when connecting them but I'm sure I got it right! Thanks for the response
mine has the automatic ac and all of its information is shown on the screen of the stock head unit, if i buy a new one, will i pretty much lose my ac or atleast not be able to see what the ac is doing
Does your steering wheel controllers work for the aftermarket stereo?
It does not. It requires an extra translator box work and I decided not against getting one.
What about the LCD little screen
That big ass gap above the air controls is a no for me
probably doesnt look bad from the actual angle u will be looking from tho
Do you have the link to the harness adapter on eBay? Trying to set it up for my Mazda as well.
Yeah.. that will definitely work
What kind of radio did you install into it?
It’s a cheap Android based radio off of eBay. I’d suggest getting one with a dedicated control knob for volume. Using the touchscreen for everything is too cumbersome
Programma anche la temperatura per aria condizionata?
Is it just me or did he not replace 1 screw?
How much it costs for you and what is the brand it is ???
what about the SWC input?
hey can you tell me which radio you have in the vid and if i can connect it with my phone to answear calls?
Hi, I don’t believe this radio is sold anymore.
I’d suggest a model like this: amzn.to/3myLmj2
What I really missed in my radio were hardkeys to change the volume. Using the touchscreen for volume adjustment is very clumsy.
What size if i order?
Where can i buy a harness and the extra frame to attach the screen? How many inches is that screen and what brand? Please im about to buy and i don't know where to start my car is 2007 mazda 3 isport. Thank you and i will wait for your reply.
I found mine on eBay.
I’d suggest getting a radio that has a rotary know to adjust the volume with. The one I used was touchscreen only and changing the volume was very painful.
I Dont Know if its you or the kit but I dont think that 1/4 inch gap is supposed to be at the bottom.
Hey I was wondering if you disconnected the battery?
They usually say to disconnect the battery.
I connected everything where it should be and it doesnt want to work. It turns on but i dont hear anything
Thank you very much from Israel

usb options?
Good video but wtf was that noise at the beginning dude
does the steering wheel volume control buttons still work after installing a different stereo?
NO
@@dusty6935 Instslled it already and they do work lol
@@konqet7741 what stereo did you install if you don’t mind me asking?
They only work if you splice wires and don't use an adapter
@@blakecoombs7424 cap i installed this a year ago and buttons work great still
So did you lose steering wheel controls?
As it is shown in the video, yes, the steering wheel controls will not work.
There are special converter boxes available that make them functional again.
Does it still support steering wheel controls
Not out of the box.
You would need a translator box to make the steering wheel controls work again
I bought a Junsun 9” for my 2005 mazdaSp23 that has a Bose system. I can’t get any sound at all and it won’t connect to my steering wheel control. Can you please advise me? It’s kinda urgent for me. Thank you.
I think the Bose system has an external amplifier so maybe you need to connect different wires to the head unit. Did you figure it out?
@@brandanfiederlein3390 hello, yes. I had an auto electrician put it all together. Works like a charm. Now thinking of getting an Apple play dongle as well. My apologies for the late reply. Been busy listening to new music. Ahh, bliss
Would this work with a Mazda 3 2006 hatchback
It will. That's exactly the same model used in this video.
Was it reliable did did it last?
I ended up replacing it with a different radio. Not because it broke, but because I was missing a knob to control the volume.
Bag the music
Ok, I bought a cheap Amazon radio which works good, but it's slightly bigger than brand name ones, so it won't fit in any dash kit. I even tried to shave off plastic, put totally ruined it, impossible with proper tools. So what now? :)
What year is this Mazda 3
This was on the 2006 model
Did the wheel multimedia controller work with it??
Do you mean the controller on the steering wheel?
Why is the music so much louder than the voice
Someone doesn’t know much about video editing. That’s why the video turned out like this.
What size is the factory radio?
Its a little bigger than 2-DIN. Around 4.5” by 7”
So I wouldn’t need any kits for it right?
You definitely want one of the aftermarket bezzels. Otherwise it won’t fit right, because the LCD above the radio also comes out.
@@MegaSafetyFirst do you have a recommendation for an aftermarket bezel?
The one that I was using was pretty flimsy, so I cannot recommend that. But I have never found one that is any better / more stable.
Thanks man that was really simply and now I will do it myself instead of playing $160 just for installation.
What I dont like tho, is why would you take that upper part out that shows the temperature and A/C level. Why not just keep it there.
The display doesn’t work withou the original radio in place.
A while back I’ve seen someone emulating the input signals for the display. But that seemed to be too much work for me.
@@MegaSafetyFirst ohh.. so after installing the new stereo I won't be able to tell the temperature and the A/C level at all or does the new stereo display that also?
@@dxzir8216 not a stupid as someone who doesn't know the difference between your and you're.

Danke
So you didnt have to cut anything ?
Correct, the sizes of the bezel and the radios are standardized, so they fit without having make cuts. 👍
@@MegaSafetyFirst what about wireing ?
As long as you have the adapter harness, the original cables remain unchanged
Can't hear over the music.
Philip Drake turn ur volume up
@@OfficialJesse I Did, and the Music Still over powers the speech.

@@OfficialJesseThen You Must Have some Other Form of Stereo Sound Output set up because I Couldn't Hear Anything Over The Music He's Playing in the Background.
Good
That navi looks like it's smashed and squeezed there. Plus, you did such a sloppy job, I mean come on...
The background porn music is distracting. Could hardly hear you.
cant hear music please make it louder
