Unfortunately my 2004 mazda 3 cant accept anything past 2006 in terms of a radio swap. The connectors are different on the back for the lcd display. Would love any advice on if theres a better solution than rewiring everything
very informative. I have had to change my 2008 6cd changer head unit like for like. The swap over was easy thanks to videos like yours. However, I have all the lights coming on but no sound coming out. What could be the issue here?
If the LCD is off, even the power but the fuse is unbroken, what could be the problem? Power gets to the system but when one presses the on button nothing happens. Any help?

If my car already has the AUX port in the center console/glovebox and I'm simply installing an after market receiver, do I need to use the connector on the left? I'm not adding any new ports, just changing out the stereo receiver.
Sundude150 When you swap out the stereo, your factory AUX in the glove box will not work anymore. You cannot tap into the factory aux wiring. You will need to hook an aux cable into the back aux port of your new stereo, and run the cable to your glove box. You can also hook into the front aux port on your new stereo if it has one (not all do). Good luck!
To add to my last reply, even with my USB/AUX accessory that’s hooked into the left port, I use the aux port on the accessory and not the factory one in the glove box. That’s just how it has to be.
I was rear-ended this morning and now my car has no power and won't come out of park what's going to get it moving to get it home. I'm 3 hrs from home now
Thank you for this presentation!! My CD changer is stuck with my CDs inside, so I think it needs replacing. I'll probably have my mechanic do this for me BUT I really might consider trying it myself! (Or at least I completely understand what the process will be!) Well done!
Thank you Helen and good luck! This is very easily do-able yourself and you can easily find a replacement stereo for your Mazda 3 on eBay for cheap. Skip the mechanic and save serious $$$. Follow the video for removal and you should be set. Message on here if you get stuck and need any help.
Lumia Pixel I don’t believe there are any stereo anti theft codes for this car. You should be good. But then again do some more research on your own end.

I managed to do it by soldiering some wires... Maybe you can try by switching the whole module (without the faceplate) or only the CD module...

You can swap out the piano black fascia for your old satin grey very easily. It is 4 screws on the back side of the unit(s).

The 2004 and 2005 mazda 3's have the LCD plug integrated with the head unit, so you will not be able to put a 2006 radio in a 2005 and keep the LCD.
