Not my damn future!!!! I need some real sunlight!! Now when they lock your but up inside, replace everything, and the whole world is artificial, you're going to think twice.😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is really lovely! I've been thinking about how to do something like this for years, using smart LED strip lighting to make it light up like an actual window. I get so blah in the winter and I hate looking out at dead gray brown and white nothingness. :)
I am thinking of a commercial fake window that illuminates with the help of a programmable led screen (basically the same tech as current generation TVs). These days there are so many houses / apartment without windows and this kind of set up will help people with their claustrophobia. (I am not claustrophobic but would certainly appreciate a beautiful window view).
Hi, I am based in Ireland so if you live here I could make one. If not it would probably be better to get someone local to you one. The plans are available here www.instructables.com/Faux-Window-With-Your-Favourite-View/
Great plan and beautiful video! If only it took just 7 minutes in real life 😅🙃 I am going to use your idea but flip the proportions (“ Portrait” to “landscape”) and put a spare TV in there. There are “window loops” on UA-cam or you could even put a small CCTV camera to the actual outside. Thanks so much for the idea!!
I cannot make this but I would love to buy one. Do you make them to order? Have a really ugly wall that needs a faux window. Have found a place in the States but they do not ship to the U.K. I live in the North West UK. I absolutely love this video. The window is beautiful.
Hi Mandy thank you very much. I dont make them to order but I still have the two I made in the video. I dont know for sure but I imagine shipping would be very expensive for something that size. You can email me at eamonwalshdiy@yahoo.com if you want to discuss it further.
Nice job, but I do not understand your measures on the plan. You write « To start I cut 2 pieces of 75mm x 18mm for the sides of the frame; 50mm x 18mm for the bottom » but on the plan sides are 70mm and bottom 45
I made both frames, the front and the back a little less wide. I want to insert between the two frames a large image that will be backlit by leds placed around the rear frame. In order to be able to change this image when I want, I would have to fix the two frames together but not permanently. What solution could I use? Thanks
Hi, thank you. The table saw was from SIP, just like this one.. www.sip-group.com/store/category/206/product/01986.aspx and the chop saw was a Makita 10 inch compound miter saw.
I have a bedroom that is very asymmetrical in the sense that there are two windows on the far sides of the two adjacent walls, so however I put my bed, I feel like a window is missing on the other side of the bed (there is a roof outside for an actual window. I want to have a faux window there and it has to be identical to the ones I already have, so, I can’t follow this tutorial, plus I do not own those fancy tools anyway. But it is such a beautiful work, and very inspirational, too. (American windows open by sliding up and down, funny right?)
That's pretty cool. I actually had a real leftover window from a remodel and wanted to install it in a wall with a beach scene behind it lit with LED lighting but the wife shot it down lol. Did you consider adding LED lighting to this build?
I'd absolutely love this for my windowless office. Thanks for sharing your videos - love them.
Thank you very much Marian.
Now just combine this with natural-looking artificial led light and you have a window of the future
Not my damn future!!!! I need some real sunlight!! Now when they lock your but up inside, replace everything, and the whole world is artificial, you're going to think twice.😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@onehundredpercent_ke Not necessarily sunlight but even the natural views are good to the mind. Not everyone has budget for a nice vacation.
Excellent post, thank you for sharing.

Lovely idea thank you. I very much liked the method of hanging on the wall. Very generous of you to share this project with others.
Thank you very much for watching Moira.
Oh Eamon, it's great to watch your videos. The projects you come up with are so cool. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!

Love it!
I really want to do this for my laundry room!
nice job, with any luck we'll get some good sunshine this summer and you won't need to rely on that to remember what it looks like. :)
Thank you! With any luck we will but i will keep it just in case ;-)
Very Kool project. Something like this will look and work awesome to install on a fake dormer, but have a view of the inside of a room with curtains.
Thanks a lot John.
@@EamonWalshDIY Where can I order it?
This is fantastic
Thank you very much Caroline.
Thats Just Fantastic
Thank you Nigel.
You do great work. My projects look like something Homer Simpson and Barney built after a night of heavy drinking. Great job.
😂😂 thank you very much, I bet they are not as bad as you think.
What kind of tools are u using

Lovely window 😍
Thank you.
Great job
Thanks Elizabeth.
thats next level why didnt i think of that stuff
Thank you.
Would this be possible using some kind of motion view to show actual outside?
Possibly Terence but it would need somebody more technically minded than me.
As always love it. 👍🙏
Thank you Vin.
Cool window! :) I want more of your videos
Thank you. I would love to have the time to make more.
I want a day bed but have no windows in my rented room so thank you so much

Hi Keyla, If you are in Ireland I may be able to do something. email eamonwalsh100@yahoo.co.uk

Excuse me. What is that blue piece u used the drill with? Thanks
Hi, it is a kreg pocket hole jig. bit.ly/3kSEbQR
Sorry, one more question: where would I get posters that size? Thank you
You can get them in many online photo shops like here www.photobox.ie/shop/wall-decor/posters
Excellent work dude. I'd be way to embarrassed to post a video of the bundle of sticks I'd end up with 😁
Thank you very much! Dont be embarrassed go for it!
Can you make one for me? This is exactly what I’ve been looking for but can’t make myself.
Hi, I actually still have the two from this video. Unfortunately shipping abroad would be very costly.

What brackets were used?
Hi Anne-Marie, I used a French cleat to hang it.

This is a terrific concept. I'm thinking about doing this above a hall entry table. What size is the artwork in the window?

Someone could tell me what kind of material u need to the picture? Its paper, oil, vinyl...?
Did I miss anything? How do you add your favourite view to that?
I think you use a poster, or thats the only way I can think of 😀
