My compliments and appreciation to the teacher. Yes, you are teacher and I hope you take that as a compliment. Many can do but have no ability to teach, you sir can teach as well as play. Thank you.
I be played for years . Can't read music barely know what the strings are. I've watched countless times Clapton doing this. Got near it but your video I CRACKED it. Brilliant

Joe. I want to say thank you. Thanks to your lessons I have taken a leap forward in the last few days. Finally I can add a riff to the song and actually give it some substance.
+JoesGuitar lessons hi Joe. Thanks for the videos. They really are the best I've found for the music I love. Would you consider doing a basic Crossroads acoustic version? I can just about about middle my way through the song but cannot get a solo together. And this song really needs a little lengthened in the middle.
+Mike Arabia hey Mike thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes Clapton plays it a little quicker, but it's important to play correctly slowly and then build on the speed. Glad the video helped keep watching.

+Tony Learner Hey Tony, thanks for your kind words. It's not as hard as it looks, it looks more difficult when you don't play. Have you ever tried learning?
Joe, thank you for posting this. I started playing a few years ago and have a goal to learn all the tunes on the unplugged. first one I learned was tears in heaven ( I know, not the smartest progression). this is really helpful. many thanks!
Your welcome Rusty. Well, I suppose the other way of looking at it is, they get easier after "Tears in heaven" I have covered some of the other tracks but not all of them, just on case you are interested. Thanks for taking the time to comment
Joe, your explanations are so simple and it makes it easy to learn. I am glad I found your chanel. I am big fun of Clapton and any kind of blues, especialy on acoustic guitar. Keep on doing what you are doing, thank you and God bless you!

Hey Joe! Greetings from Tucson Arizona! I love your videos and think you are one of the best guitar teachers on UA-cam. I have learned a handful of great songs on the guitar from your tutorials. I am still somewhat of a beginner and this has been a great track for me to learn some of the foundational elements of blues guitar. The only part that you didn’t explain is how you do the little mini riff when you switch from the E to the A. I have tried and tried to figure it out on my own and I’m thinking that your playing an open string with maybe a couple of hammer on’s or hammer offs, but I just can’t get it. If you have 60 seconds and can send a short reply on how you are doing that, that would be so awesome! Thanks!
Hi Miguel, thanks forgetting in touch and thanks for taking the time to post. Really great to hear that you are enjoying the lessons. Just in case you are interested I have done a lot of lessons over at my Patreon page that covers all these kind of things www.patreon.com/joesguitarlessons
I am a beginner and don’t know if this will get better but the stretch of my fingers to the 4th and 5th frets seems impossible for me and still keeping the index on the 2nd fret. I really like the lesson but am hoping my fingers will eventually make it.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Glad you enjoyed the video. just in case you are interested i have a patreon page where i have lots of exclusive content. here is link www.patreon.com/joesguitarlessons
Hey Joe Man, i really appreciate this video tutorial, and ive watched it many times now, you are easy to follow and understand, i wish you would have tabbed the notes on the lead parts tho, cause theres a few u didnt specify, but great video man otherwise , love it!
Hi, Ronnie, glad you enjoyed the video. I do try to cover all the elements, unfortunately I don't get the time to tab everything I do. Keep watching. I'm currently building a web site, which will have extra features
+Mel Roberts Your welcome Mel, thanks for watching, if you looking for more Eric Clapton, I did a few more here: ua-cam.com/play/PLYiK_4hFJ6bNqyLVJ202qrvpaqJTdmzt4.html
Am I missing something or is the commentary about the first riff (commencing at around 7:41) missing the second half of the riff? I can't seem to follow what's being played compared to how it was described in the commentary ie there seems to be more being played than was referred to in the commentary. Also, I think the reference to 6th fret 4th string should be 6th fret 3rd string, which is what it looks like is being played. Thanks to anyone who can put me straight if I'm wrong or if I'm missing something.
Hi, just to clarify I haven't covered everything that Clapton plays in the song, rather just some of what he does to give the general idea. Hope that helps
The only thing that's missing is that Clapton is syncopating picking. In other words playing the licks and solos while playing the rythym parts. It ups the ante as far as learning it correctly.
No actually what’s happening is that Andy Fairweather is playing rhythm and when Clapton plays solo,he is just adding the bass note ala Robert Johnson etc. So in other words if he is riffing over E he is just playing e in the bass etc. Thats all you clan do,
I play this track. Clapton plays with an accompanist but he is playing syncopated. Trust me. You can look up how to play this and find half a dozen guys who teach it the way Clapton actually plays it.
Joe...I love your method of guitar teaching...only problem is, the sound needs to be a bit louder. Your voice is barely audible. Otherwise, you do a remarkable teaching job!

Great tutorial Joe! one of the more simpler ones from the unplugged album but just as good to hear and play...Not sure if I have super hearing or if some people have their heads in their ass? because I got something from this and it sounded fine! cheers
Darren Webb Hi Darren, sorry about the sound, it was one of my first, I think I am getting on top of that now.. Anyway, no there is no picking as such on the B7 just the walk in ( 6.13 in the video ) is single note. B7 is strummed. Hope that helps ;)
Best. Soft voice, perfect explication, no over acting. I wish all youtube right this tutorial
Thanks 🙏
Still top notch after all these years! ✌️

Great lesion Joe. Clapton plays it so quick it's hard to grasp. Thanks for slowing it down a bit. Cheers

🙏 Vielen Dank für diese schönen Lieder.
Please, can you play the Song "Stone River" by JJ Cale.
Nice tutorials but the sound is extremely low. Is there anything that you can do to raise the volume. Thank you.
Sounds like your plea has gone unnoticed.🧐🧐🧐
Eric is great. A Better version by CCR is needed. That's what anybody over 50 YO knows.
awesome

One question. Is the initial riff finished with a single B7 . Before the E strum .
Yep sure is Rob
@@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons Thx - think I have this down now. Apart from the bridge solo . Getting there .
