Dear Marco, it's very beautiful to see a doublebass player who plays with the "ancient" technique of the left hand 1-3-4 :-)! Your sound is very amazing. In your hands difficult passages seem to be easy. Great! Greetings from Italy!. Ciao. Vito
wow, i play bass guitar, and one day im in my school's music room, so i pick up the standup bass... i dont believe it, the strings are like... an inch off the fret board! i cant believe that anyone can play such an akward instrument (at least for me) so beautifully. well done
@chilibowl17 I would like either a double bass or an acoustic bass guitar, and I am considering doing so because I want to play bluegrass music, and bluegrass is based on early jazz and blues, if that's the stuff that you like.
Marco, man, great job. You sound like a lighter version of Christian McBride (who sometimes comes off like he's trying to break his strings). Great articulation. Saw you with Charles Tolliver two years ago at Cleos.
to get those slight pitch changes is he bending his strings like a guitar or sliding his fingers up? i have never played bass before even though ive always wanted to learn but ive just figured i might as well get good with my guitar first
so how do you learn jazz bass lines? do you just work arpredgios and feel? Are there classic lines or standard scals that would help the self teaching?
Ciao Marco! come te la passi? spero che quest'anno in estate ci sia occasione per poterti vedere nello stivale!!!! un abbraccio grande e fai urlare il Czech ease!!!
@marcopanascia I am trying to copy part of your solo by ear and by observing your left hand - is it just me, or are you tuned in fifths? By the way, nice deep woody sound from your bass. Well done.
The phrasing is so damn good.
It's Adam from the past!
Fureal man, sooo legit. Might be my favorite upright player.
