Not sure I'd want to be in a bus where the driver doesn't get a break for 10-12 hrs. Some buses, like Flix do have two drivers to share the driving, but most passengers want to stop for a break and to use the washroom (a lot prefer not to use the bus washroom).

$688 return for two people, that's $344 each by bus? Insane!!!
In the post Covid world, everything has become so expensive. In 2014, I bought Megabus tickets for three people round trip to New York for $210

What questions did they ask at the border when entering States?
They asked Where will you live and how long will you stay ..and also if we are carrying any food items
was there a specific reason why you took the bus vs fly?
Air tickets were costing around $1500 for 2 adults because of holiday season.. this was half the cost
