  • A quick overview of casting a river table with epoxy resin. In this epoxy table casting we added rocks and a small crab as an interest piece.
    Products used:
    CCT Epoxy
    Partall #2 Pastewax
    Tools and supplies:
    1x2 lumber to make the frame
    Hot glue gun and hot glue to assemble and seal the frame
    Mixing buckets and stir sticks

    Awesome table. When buffing with the compound to make it clear, did you buff just the epoxy area or did you buff the WHOLE peice, epoxy and wood?

    Hey man!! So my next project someone asked me if I can put skulls in the river. Now I can't find any small enough stone skulls that are nice enough to hold in the resin. What do you think an alternative would be? I was thinking molding them from epoxy than putting them in after cure? Or fiber glass/glass skulls?

      We have done skulls by 3d printing them and then making a silicone mold off the 3d print and casting them out epoxy.

    How long do you wait between pours

      I wait for it to tack up and try not to let it go longer than 24 hours otherwise washing and sanding between coats may be necessary. The sooner you can do it the better, really what you are looking for is that the resin has gelled and past its peak exotherm (that the temperature is coming down)
