I think Lamar Jackson is such a hot topic that they have to find a way to work him into these segments. It's similar to how the Dallas Cowboys get a segment on every show every day. They draw in too many viewers NOT to talk about them, whether you are praising them or dissing them. There are just as many Cowboy haters as lovers. Lamar is very similar. For every fan that loves Lamar there are just as many people engaged because in conversation about him because they hate him. I guarantee if Lamar wins MVP3 and Mahomes wins SB 4.... Lamar will be talked about more on the sports shows next week than Mahomes. Guarantee it!

I feel like the answer to "whose legacy does it impact the most?" is pretty simple. It impact's Brady's because he's no longer the GOAT, and it impacts Mahomes because he becomes the GOAT (according to this argument, anyway).

I hate to agree with S.A(the assh*le) Smith but he's right. He'll still need 3 more to catch Brady , but the top qb's of today are trying to catch him and this sure don't make it easy.

    • @NotUrGuru

Mahomes doesn’t become the GOAT. Not only would he be 3 rings behind Brady still, even if you want to “weight” the 3 peat, Brady has a mountain of other accomplishments.
      Most passing Yards
      Most passing TDs
      Most regular season wins
      Most completions in a season
      Most games played
      Most 4th qtr comebacks
      Leader in playoff yards
      Leader in playoff TDs
      Laser in playoff wins
      Leader in game winning drives
      Leader in SB appearances
      Played nearly a quarter century.
Sure Mahomes is a better arm talent. But so was Manning, Brees, Rogers and many others. Pat still has a mountain to climb before he usurps Brady

I did a 180 on signing Lamar. Two years ago I was afraid that the Ravens would not be able to make good signings with great team signing Lamar and I have been proven wrong two years in a row. Now I say extend him to 10 years. Two years ago I recognized that he was a HOF’er, but now I think he is the best player in the NFL.
We should not let the past dictate the future - If Mahomes wins it does build on his legacy, but I’m not sure if it diminishes others. That being said, he is the it roadblock. We had an excellent team last year, I really thought we would win it all and we got taken down in our own house… This year, there were rough spots but a bunch of great spots too and we should’ve gone all the way, but here we are.
I’m not so sure we would’ve beat the Chiefs in retrospect of this whole season and I’m glad Buffalo got the chance. I’m still unsure that we would’ve beat the Eagles, I think they will win on Sunday. So what does that say about the Ravens season and what they need to do in order to win it all next year. I think that’s the real question - could the Ravens beat the Eagles and if the Eagles win what does that say about the Ravens.
I want to see the Ravens do a threepeat Super Bowl Championship team. In my mind we’re two years behind because we should’ve won this year and last year. So what’s your deal Ravens? You either do it or you don’t, there is no try…

Bobby nailed it. It’s about Lamar catching Mahomes, and it’s far easier if Mahomes loses. It’s disappointing to hear Sarah has already conceded that Lamar’s ceiling is 2nd best even if the Chiefs lose. Because if they did, Lamar would have actually gained on him this season because he’s walking away with more MVPs and All Pros than Mahomes has in his career without Mahomes adding to his lead in rings. And we’re talking Lamar having another 8-10+ years to close that gap. With a Super Bowl loss, Lamar could catch Mahomes as soon as 2 years from now. Because if precedent is set that Mahomes can catch Brady with 3-4 less rings, certainly Lamar could catch Mahomes with 1 less ring.

    • @stevejohnson7026
      @stevejohnson7026 5 днів тому

Lamar is already 3 rings behind Patrick, and Patrick is playing for his 4th Ring on Sunday. Why take a ridiculous narrative and try using that as the basis of your point. Lamar has no chance to come close to Patrick.

    • @truthbearer7891
      @truthbearer7891 4 дні тому

@ No chance because you said so? 2023 was the first year of Lamar's career w/ legitimate passing scheme. 2024 the first with a legitimate 1st ballot HOF teammate in King Henry. The Chiefs PPG has gone from 30 PPG to 23 PPG. Even in playoffs from 31 to 24 the last couple years. Their offense is ranked 15th the last 2 years which is by far the lowest ever for a team that's been in back to back Super Bowls. They are trending down while Lamar is trending up. He's gone from scoring 3/10 points in playoff losses to a game where the Ravens didn't punt once.
Just because naysayers like you put a limit on his ceiling doesn't mean he wont fix the last problem he has which is playoff turnovers. Because he sure has answered every other question. He's gone from one of the worst QBs outside the numbesr to one of the best. One of the worst against the blitz to one of the best. To 3-16 when trailing by 10+ points his first 6 years in the league to 4-1 just last year.
Literally the last thing for him to correct is knowing when to give up on a play in the postseason. And naysayers like you are cooked wehn he does.

I’ll be all I mean, managing the huddle managing personality expectations making the right chicks. A lot of these things are self sacrifice too. I think we’re diminishing all of this by trying to say that the game has to be put on a quarterback shoulders you gotta understand the offensive line you know what deficiencies are they experience it from the pressure or from the match up you know it’s so much that we are negating by trying to use statistics to overall rate production

Let me start with saying I am NOT taking anything from Mahomes and I think he is great! BUT, he will not pass TB12 for the GOAT with this win! IMO. What I don’t hear ppl speaking about is how Mahomes has arguably the best coach and offensive minds in the game with Andy Reid! Many were reluctant to give TB12 the GOAT status bc of Bill Belichick, until he went to Tampa and proved he could win without him. I feel we need to see that Mahomes could win without Andy to prove he’s the GOAT, bc I’m honestly not sure Mahomes would have had all this success without him. Again, this is not taking away from his greatness, dude is amazing, I just don’t know about GOAT. Now obviously if they keep winning together, at some point we would have to accept it and give Mahomes GOAT status, but not yet.

Do your colleagues marvel at the genius with which you execute your work? Are your skills and talent so formidable that you are far above the capabilities of those around you doing the same work? Is the work you do so difficult that not only are you one of the few people on the planet that are able to do it, but you were so uniquely talented that you beat out hundreds of others seeking your same work?
No? Not sure? Lamar Jackson is. Myles Garrett is.
Or are you another DEI (Demographically Entitled Incompetent) who's mediocrity wasn't a barrier to advancement because other more talented people weren't even considered? Or, perhaps just another tiresome & unimaginative Yeast Yeti who uses the term "woke" as a pejorative.

Some me at ANYTIME in the last 16 years let alone seven where Harbaugh in a game has demonstrated yall proclaim greatness!! I have nothing against John Harbaugh other than DOING THE LEAST with what he's been given the most in modern day nfl talent!!! It's an atrocity of the Ravens!!! As yall say!! What great coach has lost in the same way year after year after year after year....and has learned NOTHING??

@ And that's relevant how? Jordan didn't make a finals appearance until year 7? LeBron didn't win a ring until year 9. If you think it's a differnet sport, Peyton Manning didn't make a SB appearance until year 9 and went to 4 of them. Diff is Lamar could go 4 for 4 instead of 2-2.

I just didn't want Josh Allen to win one before Lamar, same with Burrow. I'm cool with Hurts or Mahomes winning. Also Stephen A is in correct cuz let's say the Chiefs do 3peat. Then from 2028 to 2035 Lamar wins 4 Super Bowls. Does that still bring Lamar's legacy down because Patrick go the 3peat? Hell no. This ain't the last season of the NFL. None of your great quarterbacks have beaten Jalen Hurts in two years. Hurts got more yards and touchdowns in their last Superbowl than Patrick mahomes. Won their regular season game last season with no defense. Hurts is just better than those guys. At their games.
Lamar Jackson could really use a receiver that can catch the ball and hold onto it. I recognize he was trying Nellie and Nellie dropped the game. However Philly knew to leave Nellie open because he's not a good NFL receiver. Lamar Jackson is and Patrick Mahomes are better than Hurts with the mvps.
But yeah hurts is better than the supposed elites. Beat Josh Allen on one leg without a defense.
Lamar Jackson would face hurts in the NFC championship. Allen and others not even close. Jalen Hurts has like two losses to the AFC in his career. And he was carrying junk his first season and didn't have a defense last season. Was 10 and 1 on last second heroics last season before they gave the defense to the adversary Matt Patricia.

It pains me to say this, but even if we didn't beat ourselves, we were losing that game regardless. Why? Because there was no way the NFL was putting up with the Kardashians taking over Las Vegas rather than Taylor Swift (This was when Odell Beckham was on the Ravens and was dating Kim K at the same time). Now you see why the league office made sure Shawn Smith was the head ref. (Favors road team more than any officiating crew in the league, and Ravens average 10.5 penalties a game with that crew)
