These guys were Australia's" Free" of the day, heavy blues and strong but soulful vocals. Should have gone on to bigger and better frontiers like Kevin Borich, Aztecs etc. cornered.
Bad management ruined their chances for stardom. The national talent contest they won included as part of the first prize a record contract, but the record company went bankrupt before the album could be recorded. The Australian tour that followed the competition lost its way after the guy in charge made off with all the money and no one got paid. Just a series of bad breaks really, but that's the music biz for you, I suppose. When I worked with Michael in a duo in 2002, I just couldn't find us enough gigs to make it viable. That was a real shame too because he was still singing really great, even in his 50s.
