LIKE I always say there will NEVER ever be another CHUCKY B. GLAD I HAD THE PLEASURE TO MEET HIM AT THE FAMOUS LEGEND NIGHT CLUB RIP MY ONE AND ONLY FAV GOO GOO BAND
This was 80's and go go was the hustler's music. Back then being in the life I was 19 at this show right here and it was a special time. Fun was and understatement. But, times change, people change you got to grow up. But I can always remember! 👍🏿
Chuck was a BAD, SMOOVE Man!! I got to DC in the fall of '85 to go to HU (You Know!!) and that summer before, his music was just starting to be played in Jacksonville, Florida, where I grew up. When I got to DC, and got immersed in the culture, it made me really appreciate everything about Chuck Brown, his style, his music and just how he made Go-Go the Sound of DC!! I miss Chuck and I'm sitting back GROOVIN' to this mix!!
I was still 12 or 13 when Chuck was at his height and these shows back then were well worth the money...At this age all I wanted to hear was a socket and roto-toms but to get older and mature and hear how these shows was just groovin ..man it was a treat. But you know as yungin we aint have no class yet all we wanted was da raw crank.
I agree. Truth be told, I didn't really catch on to Chuck until I got a little older. Like you said, I was only concerned with " raw " crank. NOW TODAY... Chuck was a genius !
Also I really hate when people compare this great man to other go bands, such as rare essence trouble funk ECT. Truth be told essence said they actually Imatated a lot of Chucky B.sytle when they first started out. plus you can't compare Chucky B.as a go go band he was to versatile for comparison MANE..

The Late Great Chuck Brown pretty much WAS Go-Go music - at least seventy-percent of it anyway.
