Took me a while, didn't have borax at hand so I had to buy some on my last shopping trip, then one has to wait for the wicks to soak, etc. but...... the wax coated ones worked best for me. I forgot to buy Popsicle sticks, but will get some next shopping trip. Thanks again.
From the various utube links about DIY candle wicks, I have never come across someone talking about wick sizes (diameter). Neither commercial wick suppliers since all charts show the demeter of the vessels / containers recommending wicks accordingly. If someone in the know could provide information about the various thicknesses of the braided cotton wicks, one would go about it in a better manner to accommodate according to vessels in use.
Cotton String, 1 cup water, 2 Tablespoons 20 Mule Team BORAX, and 1 Tablespoon SALT. That is the official recipe. Actually never measure out ingredients according to that method. I use about 4 cups of water, and 1 Cup of Borax and 1/2 Cup of Salt if you want to know something measured. Actually I use Several cups of Water and about a handful of BORAX and a handful of salt

👍
which one burned longer?
I'll try the wood candle. Does it have to be olive oil to soak?
How did this work out for you?
you can use coconut oil = really ANY oil but coconut & olive burn the cleanest
@@UNREDACTEDTRUTH what about the borax for the cotton can I use anything else
Excellent tute. - Hug those melodic babies too!
Excellent job explaining. Thank you!

thanks I will try them
Let me know which way you tried:)
What does the borax and salt do please?
Why do you need the salt for, would borax alone not work 🤔
I thought candle wicks are regular cotton rope. Why do they need this treatment? Regular 100% cotton rope seems to work grate in oil candles
It helps them burn longer
Wax candles are not oil candles, but you could try to do the same for oil candles.
Do I use wool rope?
Cotton string or cotton rope works best

Nice. Thank you.
your welcome.please let me know which way you tried and how it worked for you.
Wax should be between 170 to 190 degrees F. or lower, else blowout will occur
Your hand is covering your braiding part,I'm learning, but it's 2 fast. But thank you.
