Awesome video BYD! I used Lawn Star Lawn Paint last season and it looked amazing on my Bermuda. I learned if you spray in a circular motion it looks more natural without the lines. It takes a little longer but it's worth it.

You see in Idaho I purchased a house that doesn't have grass,,, it has cheat grass , which is nasty stuff. So this going going to become green. Too hot to re seed and sod is too expensive. But this is a FANTASTIC SOLUTION 👯♀️👯♀️👯♀️YAY!
Amazon has some pretty affordable. Battery sprayers these days and I’ll tell ya what I bought specifically for lawn painting is the 4 gallon Petra tow behind cart works amazing beats carrying 35# of weight on your back.. The Chaplin back model is a affordable good option and u can get a 20” wide dual spray tip nozzle.. gos faster.. this is a great option to offer during summer dormancy cold season region big seller is “graduation party’s” it’s been a slower time of the year game changer. For you big spenders stihl makes a gas powered sprayer 😉. For those big jobs or just if your booked up solid and time is $$$
I love the color of it for Bermuda. In my last video I didn't quite get it as dark as yours. It took me 32 oz of Endurant mixed with 4 gallons of water to cover about 3,500 sq ft. How was your coverage?

I'm trying to understand the purpose of painting dormant grass. Wouldn't it be better to over seed with rye grass? If you want green grass during the cool season.
Rye grass may or may not take. I personally don’t recommend overseeding a BermudaGrass with it so painting may be an option. Some people us it in area that won’t green up because of shade. You can adjust the color with extra or less coats. No mowing while lawn is dormant where as you will with ryegrass. Remember this is a option, some people like it. Some people don’t. This video was intended to see if an average homeowner can apply it with a regular hand pump sprayer.
It is the difference of a beautiful low maintenance lawn or sporadic grass that may overtake and not die off the way you need the next Spring. Plus do you really want to keep mowing your grass at least once a week?
If you are new to this then Granular Pre Emergent. Liquid WDG 65 if you don’t mind doing Math. As for weeds liquids are the fastest but granular weed kills are effective also but cost more sometimes
When I upgraded my lawn from crabgrass to bermuda I used an ebay stainless pest sprayer and XLR8. The trick was buying a "fan nozzle" for the sprayer and it actually worked out pretty well. I found sweeping across at a diagonal (note the stripes on this video) and overlapping light coats by 50% got good coverage on multiple sides of of those broadleaf bastads. That worked for me better than trying for vertical like BYD's doing with the dye. $0.02

I used to spray my lawn late at night so the neighbor does not know how I keep my lawn so green. I even used on my bushes.

Actually we pass along the same prices to lawn care that golf courses and sod farms use.

Love your channel its very informative. I have a question my lawn is 7000sqft my backpack sprayer is 4 gal how prodiamine/water should I use.
Depends on the rate you use but let’s say you’re using .40 oz. A four gallon sprayer would use 1.60 oz and a 3 gallon would use 1.20 oz

Actually, you used more than 8 oz/gallon. Your final mix should have been slightly over the two gallon mark. 2 gallons of water + 16 oz of product.

What's the difference between marker dye and paint?
Indicator dyes are wash away once they come in contact with water. Endurant can be used as “indicator colorants” but they will not wash away.
I don't care how careful I am when using dye on my lawn....I get it everywhere but it washes off my hands after a few days.

Can I blanket spray my yard with Image herbicide? My lawn is horrendous and covered in weeds, but there is some bermuda under there I want to grow.
I’d use the hose end sprayer for that.

No, cleans 🧼 up pretty easy but you’ll need to do it right after you use it.
